Denmark have been gearing up to host the Tour de France’s Grand Depart, with the Scandinavian country firmly in the cycling spirit ahead of the sport’s most famous race.
Fun and charming Tour-related installations feature along the three opening stages, which will all take place in Denmark.
The 2022 edition started on Friday with an individual time trial in Denmark’s capital city of Copenhagen, before two relatively flat stages from Roskilde to Nyborg on Saturday and Vejle to Sonderborg on Sunday.
Cyclists have also tested the route across The Great Belt Bridge, which will be lit up in yellow at night to resemble the yellow jersey colours.
Cycling is a central part of the Danish DNA and the start of the Tour in Copenhagen will serve as a fitting location, as it is one of the world’s most bike-friendly cities.
