Hello Mountain Bikers,

I bought a Cateye speedometer from my local bike shop and i wanted to put it on my mountain bike (I have a Trek Roscoe 7) but it was probably designed for road bikes.

How it works is it is you clip a little magnet to one of your spokes on your front wheel and when that magnet passes over the sensor it counts one rotation. (the faster the rotation the faster you are going.) You then have a little computer connected to the sensor mounted on the handle bars with a display on it.

The problem I was having was that for the sensor to work the magnet has to pass over within 5mm and that was just not happening on my MTB. So I designed a spacer in fusion 360 and it works perfectly. I only printed it 2 days ago so still seeing how it will hold up.

This just brings the sensor closer to the magnet. My fork is 40mm diameter so that is what it was designed for.

Attached using supplied zip ties with tape around shock to avoid scratches.
