Is yours one of the early-gen ones with the slot in it that allows the cable end to pop out of the seat and get jammed inside the shifter housing, forcing you into your highest gear, if you upshift without pedaling?
I’ve also heard of that slot spreading through fatigue until the cable end slips through the center, forcing an unplanned mid-ride singlespeed conversion.
Because I have one of those and it SUCKS. There isn’t even any reason for the slot because you have to feed a new cable through the hole anyway to install it. They changed the design quickly and later 11-speed shifters don’t have that issue.
As another user pointed out, Ratio makes a replacement that solves the problem.
