I have [this](https://www.rei.com/product/208189/cannondale-synapse-al-3-bike?sku=2081890004&store=95&CAWELAID=120217890016533076&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=111891560318&CATCI=pla-931175092526&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_2081890004%7C92700057782276916%7CNB%7C71700000074092800&gclid=CjwKCAjwlJimBhAsEiwA1hrp5lgGmrAozf_xh7HZvWrNf1KFVLyZmaqJJkkJIeY_Q6VgN9Y_HOJeuBoCYHUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) bike that I want but the thing is I’m not buying the bike and I don’t know how to convince the person to buy the bike for me.
I’m going to be on the road mostly but I want a bike that is able handle rocks since my old one would have the tire come off sometimes cause of that right now it would be used for commuting to work but I also want to use it for college to get to classes.
I’m going to be riding at most 3 miles a day is this a fine long term bike to have as long as I keep up maintenance or should I look for something cheaper to suit what I’m using it for.

For example, [this](https://www.bikemart.com/product/giant-roam-4-disc-381514-1.htm) one.
