Specialized has a Diverge E5 with Claris for 1300 [https://www.specialized.com/de/en/diverge-e5/p/221375?color=367663-221375](https://www.specialized.com/de/en/diverge-e5/p/221375?color=367663-221375)

Quite crazy how close the prices are, the difference is carbon seatpost on the Canyon (120 eur at retail) and 1 gear extra.

  1. At this price level the Canyon still has the much better value and you have to see the price jumps for the higher tiers. They are much bigger for Specialized. Instead of saying that canyon approaches specialized prices at the entry level I’d rather say specialized has a somewhat „reasonable“ priced entry bike (if you can call 1.3k for a bike with Claris reasonable). But if you want a somewhat decent spect mid tier carbon bike from specialized it’s easily 3-4k. Canyon is 2-3k.

  2. Canyon has never been cheap in absolute sense at the lower end. It’s still premium bikes. If you want massive value-for-money at the lower end, I suggest Decathlon (Triban/Van Rysel).
