Just got my first used bike. Everything is great, but I wanted to use this other bike seat the dude gave me. (The first one is a very fluffy seat for casual rides. It fit and functioned perfectly, just preferred the other seat.)
The post on the 2nd one is much thinner, so it doesn’t fit. I’m not sure what part I need in order to make it fit.
Hopefully the pictures do it justice. Googling, I found that maybe I need a new post, a new clamp, or some sort of attachment like a sleeve. Wasn’t sure exactly what I needed.
To be clear, the 2nd one is too narrow for the seat tube.

The first post is missing the bolt, nut and half the clamp. If you don’t have these parts you’ll need a new post as the other is too small. The diameter should be stamped somewhere on post 1. You need to be precise with a replacement, even .2 of a mm difference will cause problems.
You can take the saddle you like off the seatpost it’s attached to. All you need is an adjustable wrench for that. Start loosening one of the nuts on either side and you’ll see how it comes apart. Then put the saddle on the seatpost that fits in the seat tube. It looks like you took that apart already so you should be able to get it back together.
It’s sometimes possible to use a shim to fit a small seatpost in a bigger seat tube, but there’s no need for that here, you can solve it with the parts you already have.
