I bike in the city, but we have some rolling hills I ride down. I commute to the gym, and to the grocery store. Lately I’ve been considering replacing this tire, but what do you think? Safe or replace immediately? Ignore the other bike next to mine. It’s my wife’s.

You should replace the tire soon. The knobs in the center are to grab traction in offroad riding and you can see they’re gone. It won’t hurt to ride but it definitely needs replacing
If you ride on dirt I’d replace that ASAP, your braking and cornering is really suffering.
You will need to soon. I HIGHLY recommend getting a slicker tire. You’ll appreciate the smoother, faster, quieter ride around the city.
Not yet. Not for city riding, you’re fine. I love when mine get like that. Benefits of both worlds ; )
Should be OK until you find another tire you like. I see the beginnings of dry rot in the rubber, so it has certainly had a full life. If the center lugs get worn completely smooth, I would replace at that point for sure.
Wait till you start seeing the tyre fabric showing or you start getting flats. Replace with an urban tyre with puncture protection schwalbe marathon/specialized flakjacket type of thing
Yes. That is what you call a “bald” tyre. If youre riding mostly pavement, consider a file pattern, or even slick tyre in the same width.
