I’m looking for a bike to use for commuting, recreational rides, and chill, mostly flat bike-touring (30-40mi/day for a week). My budget, including adding rear rack/panniers and fenders, is under $1000. I’m currently down to three possible bikes:
Co-op Cycles CTY 2.1 Step-Through: [https://www.rei.com/product/189692/co-op-cycles-cty-21-step-through-bike](https://www.rei.com/product/189692/co-op-cycles-cty-21-step-through-bike)
Marin Kentfield ST 2: [https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/2024-kentfield-st-2](https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/2024-kentfield-st-2)
Verve 2 Disc Lowstep: [https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en\_US/bikes/hybrid-bikes/comfort-recreation-bikes/verve/verve-2-disc-lowstep/p/32734/](https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/hybrid-bikes/comfort-recreation-bikes/verve/verve-2-disc-lowstep/p/32734/)
In terms of other details, I’m a woman (5’3″) and in the US. I currently have a c. 1983 Schwinn World Tourist that I love, but it hasn’t been ideal for touring as it’s quite heavy and the tires have punctured repeatedly on gravel bike paths. I’m also keen to get away from rim brakes.
I’m also open to any suggestions for other bikes that aren’t on my list that you think might be a good fit for my needs. Thanks!
