I usually take my dedicated commuter to work, and yesterday I found some dirt trails when taking an alternate route. Problem – they’re wet and sandy right now, and 40c tires sink right on in. So today I brought my newly rigid-ified Salsa Timberjack (I promise it’s a coincidence that it’s a QBP marketing piece) and had a grand old time.
It’s a problem, actually, because I had so much fun I was nearly late to a meeting. If you’re lucky enough to even have a mile or two of dirt, don’t bring a rigid MTB and ride it. You might enjoy the ride too much!
