Hey everyone! Swapped to mechanical brakes and installed new Shimano calipers and Shimano levers and cables and the front cable seems too short. I don’t see it fitting any bike. Can it be a fluke or did i mess up somewhere? Ty!
I’m a bit confused. Was the cable too short out of the box? A standard brake cable is long enough to go to the rear brake of an XXL frame and shouldn’t be trimmed until after installation.
Also, your brake housing was stripped oddly and needs a ferrule on the caliper end at least.
Can you post a picture of the front of the bike showing the entire cable & housing as installed?

Another noob here just wondering why you’d go from hydraulic to mechanical brakes?
I’d always thought hydraulic was better as could modulate the amount of braking better.
