I’ve always ridden used/vintage road bikes around cities. I’ve been wanting something new, modern, that I can ride for longer and in more non-road conditions. Just finally sold off the couple old bikes I had to help save up for a new bike.
After looking at current offerings, I’ve decided the category I’d probably like is an entry-level hybrid or flat bar gravel bike (ideally between $500-1K USD). Something with a comfortable upright geometry, simple 1x drivetrain, and tires wide enough to handle bumpy pavement and some light gravel etc.
I’ve narrowed it down to:
1. [Kona Dew Plus](https://www.konaworld.com/products/dew-plus)
2. [Marin Kentfield 2](https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/2022-kentfield-2)
3. [Cannondale Quick Cx 3](https://www.cannondale.com/en-us/bikes/active/fitness/quick-cx/quick-cx-3)
4. [State Bicycles 4130 All road](https://www.statebicycle.com/products/4130-all-road-flat-bar-rust-fade-650b-700c)
If anyone has experience with one of these I’d love to hear it (good or bad). And there are obviously a ton of others that fit the bill, so open to any recos!
