IBSA Judo Grand Prix Heidelberg (GER) 2024 – Day 1, Commentated ENG

1 and J2 under 48 kilo and the J2 under 57 kilg category for women and we have the J1 under 60 kilo J1 under 73 kilo J2 under 60 kilo and J2 under 73 kg category for men so the competition will take place on three Mets today because

It’s a packed house and uh there will be a commentator Chann know in English as well as in German and if you want to see one of the other Mets without commentary you will of course that’s possible as well um you can just click on the mat on

The YouTube channel to watch your favorite athletes and if you want to learn more about parudo you can take a look at ipo. sport or ig. org so the last one the international Judo Federation is the biggest sponsor and supporter of ipsa Judo and you will find

A bunch of Articles and information over there so during the next few days I will tell you more about paralympic Judo of course and give you uh information about the qualification process of the Paro Olympic games of Paris in 2024 uh because this is one of the last three tournaments to gain qualification

For this event and uh you can see that back in the numbers to share some details with you there’s 21 athletes here this weekend and um they’re from 42 countries in total there’s 130 men and 81 women and that’s almost the same number number as the last World Games in

Birmingham so that’s really impressive so today the J2 category or the J1 category of the under 60 is the biggest one with 26 athletes and the J1 under 57 with 15 athletes is the biggest category for women and usbekistan here brought the biggest team with 17 athletes in

Total and you can see that it’s a really high quality uh tournament this weekend because a total of eight current par Olympic champions 13 current world champions were registered they will not all be competing this weekend uh but it tells you something about the quality um

And the number of participants here is I think the highest we have had in a Grand Prix for the last few years so we’re almost about to start and uh we’re going to show the map number three with the J2 under 73 kilogram category between

Um uh b b hin of Germany and Daniel fosi of Romania so Germany also brought uh quite a good team here today and tomorrow so I’m really curious to see how the home nation will do and if you are interested to see a par Olympic champion on the M today you

Can watch the also this category the under 73 J2 Fus sov uh is competing here of he’s from usbekistan he’s the only par Olympic champion on the matter today but we have a lot of world champions featuring today it’s Miguel V of Portugal Alex Goa of Romania Natalia Nik

Of Ukraine akar nbe of Kazakhstan so there’s a four world champions in total here competing so after this competition in heidleberg we still have a competition in turkey and one in Georgia that’s going to take place in April and May and then of course we have the paralympic games uh in

France so the athletes are coming on to the mat you see Bella Bell H in white Judo G here and Daniel fosi in blue so on this m number three there’s the J2 under 73 kilogram category and also the J2 under 60 kilogram category but I will switch between the Ms and you

Of course are free to watch any M you want on M number one there’s J1 under 60 and J1 under 48 the last one for women and on M number two there are three categories the J1 for under 73 kg the J2 under 57 kg and the J2 under 48 kg category

So if you’re not familiar with par Olympic or VI Judo it will look basically almost the same as uh site Judo the only difference there is is that they have to grab their kumata they have to grab the opponent before the aim and the rest is uh yeah it will almost be the

Same so the 73 under uh or under 73 kilo J2 is always one of the biggest categories and that’s always one of the most interesting ones so also today there’s a lot of good athletes you have of course the par Olympic champion here f s of but you have also rafat

Rufat mov of Ukraine’s bronze medalist of the last par Olympic Games you have jiito Seto of Japan he came up a category after the par Olympic Games also bronze medalist and then you have uh giori Kalani of Georgia who is a European Champion but always seems to do very well on these Grand

PR so both athletes still uh I think trying to explore one another good attack coming from from uh hin here in the opening seconds of this contest so because they already have to grab before the aim there’s a lot of tension already there from the start so these uh four minutes of uh

Competing they’re really intense that was a beautiful uh switch of Direction from fari and it’s a shame for hinza but uh there are still chances for him if fosi can reach a semi-finals here today it’s not going to be easy because uh fosi will uh face sidol in the next

Round so it’s a rough start for hin here he still has a shot at the rep charge so the Germans they have uh two athletes in this category they also have Nikolai cornas who is one of the most experienced athletes I think of the German team he’s been around for quite a while

Now and uh he has some big medals under his belt I think in this category actually it’s one of the most interesting ones because after the par Olympic games uh the weight categories changed so the 66 and 81 for example are no weight categories anymore they are

Out because of the split in side categories so we have a split now in J1 and J2 so J1 for the Blind and almost completely blind and the J2 for the visual impaired athletes with a little bit more sight and because of that there’s a lot

Of people actually from the 66 and 81 that uh came uh to the under 73 kilogram category so they are uh really all facing each other now and a good example is for example R chifi coming from the 60 even jiito Seto coming from the 66 we have Serio ibenz banon coming from

The 66 so it’s really a tough category here so on the M now we have Dava DVA anuya of Mongolia and he is facing miles Solomon of Great Britain and now Solomon is trying to work in naaza not succeeding yet but good work for Solomon so there’s there are many experienced

Athletes here that are that have been around for many years already and I try to uh talk about them more but you also see some newer athletes always and that’s really nice to see so there’s some de debutants this weekend and unfortunately there’s also some athletes that didn’t make uh the

Classification with Sid so they’re very strict on that and uh they have uh thorough eye exams to make sure uh about the the visual imp impairment and that they have the right classification category so Solomon is uh getting tidied up on the side so getting back on the mat here only uh

50 seconds gone in this contest so really only the opening seconds Solomon with a nice sui attack now again working on newaza [Applause] it’s always difficult to have the opening contest of the day because you still have to deal with some nerves you never know how you’re going to compete

Until you’re on the mat and especially if you also don’t know your opponent you just don’t want to make any big mistakes in the opening seconds you also don’t want to wait too long for an attack to get a penal penalty nice left s side at seag coming from

Solom man he’s in with some good attacks but I think he might be in trouble now because Ang tuya is trying to strangle his opponent here it looked like his was under the chin of solom man so he could have been in trouble there did a good job and here

Is the first Shido now for anuya first penalty on the board for being too passive so you could see that uh almost all the attacks uh came from solom man another left side at sonag this time really well done so nice combination first working on the feet and then

Coming in with a left drop sonag suan scoring a wazari score here that was really really nicely done so this time uh anuya actually came on with a really good attempt but taken over by Solomon so really well performance by So the ion is already on the board but I think they might review the last the laari score if that was a proper score or not so during this competition there are two uh referee supervisors on the side and there’s also two referee directors and uh they are all checking

The care system from the side and in this case uh they decided uh that it was not a reri score so there’s still only the reri on the board so there’s always a good chance to watch back the techniques sometimes from multiple angles to really make sure that they uh take the right

Decision so it’s not all on the referee in the middle of the mat so that’s a really good thing and it’s been around for years now but it’s really helping the referees to come to a good decision [Applause] so anuya trying to work his way on the ground and trying

To free his foot to uh hold down Solomon still going on the winner of M one in the white Judo G is Valerio Haro fellow so this has become a really nice battle between these two athletes I feel that Soloman was a bit stronger during the first few minutes and scoring a good

Reri score but anuya has now uh started to pick up the pace and he knows he only has 45 seconds left to come up with a score [Applause] so another technique coming from anuya but it was not the strongest he collapsed on the way down I think so no

Scores and it’s another few seconds off the clock for Solomon so solom man is looking a bit more defensive now coming on with a left sided uh drop technique but not a strong one he still has no shetos or no penalties on the board so he is allowed

To pick up two shidos before he would be uh penalized and lose the contest so another attack coming from anuya it just lacks a bit of strength I guess against Soloman so just nine seconds left for Soloman to defend and it’s last attempt coming from anuya but um he’s not able to throw for his opponent it’s really well done by mil Soloman of Great Britain and he will face re SII in the next round

And that’s going to be a tough one so re Chi he’s one of the smallest athletes in this category he’s coming up from the 60 kilog category win and I think he would be a proper under 66 kgr uh athlete but of course you are missing that category for paralympic

Judo but uh he has a good draw here today so there are chances for him [Applause] so nice Judo this morning up until now good contest already in this category so we have two more uh contests uh before we uh go to the next category and the next one being between

Lee Min wo of Korea and Nikolai cornos of Germany [Applause] one more one more so the athletes are taking some time to enter the mat not sure what’s going on we can uh take a quick look at Mat number two because there is a contest going on there between uh Luis jabel

Perez Diaz of Puerto Rico and Harley dami damiel Pereira Aruda of Brazil and already uh 1 minute and 47 seconds into to the golden score so that means in the first four minutes there were no scores on the board and these are both two good athletes both uh from the same continent

So uh it’s likely that they met each other quite a few times before quarter final second quarter final [Applause] so already 2 minutes 16 seconds into the golden score no scores yet on the board but also no penalties that means they were both equally active no penalties for paity yet

So now the first Cheetos on the board and it’s taking a big tll on his athletes and you can imagine within SED Judo they always take around 5 to 10 seconds sometimes even longer to get to their kumata do their grip and in this case if that’s uh well that’s not the

Case because they have to grab before the aim so right away from the start the whole four minutes there’s a lot of tension and a lot of strength on each other on their arms so you can imagine that takes a tall out of these athletes one

So you can see here there’s always the same starting position there’s a few rules to that and um normally there’s no need for the referee to really interfere with that so the both feet have to be at the same line and uh they have to be upright and

Grab a classic kumata and that means one hand on the lapel and the other one on the sleeve and right after the aim they are free to regrip of course you cannot just break a grip because that will uh give you a penalty you have to have two hands

On all the time and the only exception is if you regrip so if you bre break it and right away get to another grip for so Pera trying to come up with some good attack but he’s really blocked by his opponents I think Perez Diaz has a

Really good right side of grip now going over that right side just not being able to finish off with a good technique [Applause] so it’s all already double the contest time and this time a right seag coming from Pereira but you can see with the left hand of perz Diaz is really

Blocking his opponent from coming in with a good technique so it might be that pz Diaz is just a bit stronger with this kumata another right s side at son coming from Pereira this time it was a good attempt breaking the balance of Perez Diaz and for the last let’s say 30 or

Seconds or minute or so I think uh Pereira Aruda looked the better of the two [Applause] and uh pis Diaz just picks up his second shid now and I think here you can see the shift in the contest I think pis Diaz was looking the better

One in the beginning of the golden score but now you can see uh Pereira Aruda slowly taking over and uh he keeps attacking so peris Diaz cannot afford to make one more mistake actually so a third sh would mean a loss for him in his contest now uh PIRA trying to work on

The ground getting quite close to a psych [Applause] me so Pera was really close to holding or even hold down for one or two seconds before Perez escaped that and now peris is trying to work his way on NOA already 5 minutes and 28 seconds into this golden score so still no action on the other mats I

Think they have to sort out a little thing in a competition but as soon as those mats start we uh might switch one of those Mets again also so another uh Oar from pis and then right away followed up by Pera aduda with the with a drop seag but you can

See the strength is gone with these athletes so the attacks are not so strong anymore and it’s making it even harder to throw over your opponents so of course I’m hoping uh to see a good score in the end but of course it it could be the

Case that this contest will be ended by penalties another good drop s coming from Pereira he’s doing well for himself in this golden score and I think he’s making sure that he keeps up the Pace and these athletes have been on this MCH already for 10 minutes which is extremely long and it’s going to be finished after 10 minutes and 11 seconds of total Contest time and it’s uh Pereira Aruda of Brazil who takes the win here the winner on M

Two in the blue J representing Brazil is Harley Deo Herrera Aruda there will now be a short call in the competition please can we ask a representative from each team to make their way to the TV screens in the training area immediately that’s a representative from each team to make

Their way to the TV screens in the training area immediately thank you so this going to be a short break in the competition and hopefully we’ll see some new athletes on the mat soon I think we’re going to stick on this Mat so on this m there’s going to be one more contest in the under 73 of J1 category there’s a total of 18 c 18 Athletes here today in this category and uh for me this is one of the other good categories here today because uh there’s

A huge fight let’s say going on between the top four and the top favorites and number one here in this ranking is Alex boa of Romania he’s the current world champion and uh ranked number one but there’s a few people who can uh make it hard for him today one of them

Is dongdong kamani of Italy they are always competing in this close contests then you have y Le shame of Kazakhstan who is the Silverman list of the last World Champion ships and you also have Leonard s of Germany and I think those four are really strong athletes strong contenders for the title

Here today and besides that you still have a few others like Shu mov Um I think uh there’s a few others at least that uh can make a different gold if I see on the list also go Yus of turkey he will face come on in the first round please can we ask the representative from each team to make their way to so

All the athletes are waiting here for that contest and that can be quite annoying because as an athlete standing there you have to be so sharp you have to be on top of your game and to keep that type of concentration it uh takes energy so uh you want to stay in the

Zone but if you have to wait for 10 or 15 minutes it it it can be uh quite tough on you so I’m hoping for all of these athletes that they will continue the competition uh soon now and uh you see some of the athletes also

Jumping around a bit trying to keep warm trying to keep sharp and um just heard that uh it could have something to do with the running order and with picking up the athletes before the contests so I think they’re making sure that the protocol is correct

Here today and uh to make sure the contests will uh run smooth the rest of the day they needs uh some investment of time right now so that’s why there’s a short break in this Competition well in the meantime I can tell you something about the other categories as well just spoke about the J1 under 73 we also have the J2 under 60 kilogram category and um interestingly enough caman nurv the world champion of usbekistan is not competing but his uh teammate Sher

Namazov is is competing here he’s a former par Olympic champion one of the top athletes and and um he is having trouble I think with NV from his country because he is the world champion but with him out I think he uh could be the top favorite

Here just uh seeing that fugar shini is actually competing I missed out on that he is a par Olympic champion so we actually have two par Olympic Champions uh present here today and uh facing in this category so that will be very exciting we will see him on the mat also

Today so uh it’s going to be a good category and you also have uh isak oldu there of Algeria he’s coming from the 66 kilo category but he moved down to the 60 kilogram category he’s the number two seed here we have gavan Lorenzo of Spain

Who is uh I think one of the good ones and then for me one of the ones to pick as a favorite today here is David kava of Ukraine so kov of uh Ukraine didn’t uh end up on the podium of the World Championships of last year but he did

Win the world championships the year before so for me he’s always one of the top contenders I think he had a great year before uh last year so although last year maybe uh he was out for a few times but uh he will be one of the top

Favorites so if you name a few on the list namazov Shirin Le old kuer gavon Lorenzo KFA you have a really strong uh strong uh bull here so besides the men of course we also have women categories and we have a few world champions there as well so in the J one

Under 48 kilogram category we have Natalia nikichi who is the current world and European champion and she will obviously be the top favorite today and number two seat is ASM tasin kavad of turkey she is the silver medalist of the World Championships they met each other

Quite a lot of times during the RS during the Europeans they uh know each other well so those are always tight contests but before that’s going to happen they will both have to reach the final and uh it’s not uh we’re not there yet then the J2 on the 48 kilogram

Category H also has one big top favorite in the name of akmaral now Beck of K Kazakhstan she’s the world champion she was unbeaten except for I think one contest where she got uh penalized and uh besides that she’s almost unbeatable in this category so in here there’s a few other

Good ones like Carmen brusk of Swiss who has uh been around for a really long time now she’s one of the most known faces here and one of the home favor favorites obvious they have Lee liing of uh People’s Republic of China who’s also uh always a

Good Contender here and then uh we also have the J2 under 57 kilogram category so the 57 we’ll see both today and tomorrow today will be the J2 so that’s for the L visual impaired and then tomorrow we have the J1 athletes who are uh the BL for the blind or almost completely

Blind so the J two category for me is an interesting one because we see two of the top contenders who were actually registered here and I don’t think they made a classification here so that’s that’s going to be an interesting detail for uh later in the year so it’s we’re

Talking about Ena seik of Ukraine and zanab seik of turkey sik being the current uh world champion and uh seek uh being uh the former par Olympic champion she was unbeatable a few years ago became a mom came back and got some serious competition from s League who

Beat her already on a few occasions but uh as I said they’re both uh absent here today so they’re not competing and that will give huge chances to some other athletes and the number one Ceder today now is kumush K Eva bistan she is the silver medalist of the last World

Championship so she’s a really good athlete and then we have uh OS junko of Japan who is also a well-known face in this category she is the bronze medalist of the last World Championships and then we have some other ones in the mix here as well I think uh we have two athletes

Actually that have been around for many years now won many medals in the past big medals also it’s Ramona brusk of Germany and Lucia aroo of Brazil so that’s uh really going to be good to watch I think for me one other to mention is Marta arapo of Spain she

Can do some nice things here in this category and of course there’s a few others that will be mentioning during the day so if you uh want to uh read about ipsa Judo you can always do that at ipsa the ipsa website but there’s also going to

Be news written on the igf do org and a.org or sorry a.net so there’s going to be a few interesting articles if you’re interested about the rules that are present here today and about one some of the top favorites and about the paralympic uh ranking so obviously these athletes uh

Can gain really important points here this weekend for the par Olympic Games so the cycle is already been going on so the qualification period is almost ending that’s why you see such high numbers of partip participation here so obviously some of the athletes want to secure their spot for par par Olympic

Games so besides these Paro Olympic qualification points which are important I think we can also mention that heidleberg is uh one of the oldest hosts of par Olympic Judo competition so they’ve been around for many many years and uh it’s one of the best known tournaments in par Olympic Judo with the

Richest history and it’s really good to see that there’s a Grand Prix here now I think this is the first time that it uh isn’t a Grand Prix to continue we will give everybody a warning to and as I mentioned before there’s are 21 athletes in total

And uh to be fair I’m not sure uh what’s still going on sorry to keep you waiting for a while now I think there might be a little meeting going on in the warm-up area with the coaches to just make absolutely sure that the athletes are on time for their fights e

And it’s actually starting to take really at all on these athletes I think they are not sure also how long is the wait so I think that’s the worst thing if you know okay my fight is going to be on in uh in around 20 minutes you know

You can prepare for that you can relax a little bit and then be on top of your game again but these athletes they know it can take place any second now but it could also take place in a few Minutes please could we ask all athletes who are not competing in these upcoming events to make their way to the stands immediately once again all athletes not participating in these events please make your way to the stands immediately thank you For e under 73 kilos on map 2 wearing the white Judo representing France Pierre and wearing the blue J representing Japan p yui so welcome back to the competition I’m really happy to see that we’re going to start again and uh for now we’re going to take

A look at Mat number two between Pierre bisan of France and Kato juji of Japan and it’s uh ven in white Judi and Kato in blue this is the J1 under 60 kgr category so that was quite a long break for these athletes I hope it’s not troubling them too

Much the referee here is making sure they’re ight right sided technique coming from Kato just losing the grip on the way [Applause] down so right after uh really moving around another right sided technique coming from makato and it ended up being a makikomi attempt scoring a first bazari here Kato

Uh is looking good during his first 20 seconds in his in his [Applause] contest so another right sided technique coming from Kato K looking good here today and he’s part of the Japanese team here so I’m checking quickly uh how many athletes they have in total so they have two women and

Five uh men athletes here uh present so they have seven athletes in total and the Japanese team they have a good team but uh I must say they’re not as dominant as inside the Judo but they do have a strong team and I think even they are getting [Applause]

Stronger so during the contest for me Pierre V still needs to find his rhythm no big attacks came from him yet but let’s see what he can do in next uh 3 [Applause] minutes so Kato still has the lead actually for me they’re quite tall athletes in his weight

Category and now Fen is trying to go left sided doing very really well no scores but uh good attempt coming from vsan [Applause] here and a lot of cheering uh from the audience because on met number three uh nikai cornos just uh beat his opponent

With a beautiful ion so we’ll see him uh later today in the second round in the representing Germany Nikolai [Applause] Cor so this time a right side of technique the thing is that Kato as soon as he comes in with that technique I think he feels the strength of his opponent and

The block and as soon as he does that he will lose the grip and with losing that grip he’s uh not really dangerous anymore so he needs to figure out a way to hold on to his [Applause] grip competing on Matt one in the men’s J2 under 73

Kilos wearing the white J representing Croatia still more than half the contest time on the clock plenty of chances for Pierre ven to uh try to still defeat his opponent but is the one that leads here in the contest and it’s another nice right sided makom attempt coming from Kato

He’s quite tall so he’s using his body in the right way just lacking that kumata so we’re really in the end of the first cycle with these weight categories and division of J1 and J2 classification categories and um it’s been uh really good to split those categories because

Um well basically the Blind and almost completely blind really were disadvantaged before when everything was together in one category so you can see that the level of them went up a lot there’s a lot more athletes that before just didn’t really have a chance of qualifying for these competitions they

Are now uh having top results and I’m really pleased to see that and um for the weight categories of course it meant that we had toh skip a few so the 66 and 81 for men and uh the 52 and uh 63 for women and of course

That’s gone that was quite hard so there’s big differences in way for the man you jump up from 60s to 73 so you see some of the athletes like maybe even these two they uh would maybe have been 66 kilogram athletes but of course uh that is not going to happen for

Them so this was the first cycle like this and after the par Olympic games are going to be a test with the new weight category so there was a lot of debate and uh there was input from the coaches from the staff from the ipsa committee and um they arranged new weight

Categories with um well the jumps that were a little bit smaller between the categories and I say that wow Kato Jui is trying to work his way on noasa but not succeeding here so the new weight categories for women are under 52 under 60 under 70 and over 70 kilogram

Categories so you see that the changes are a little bit smaller and then for men it’s under 70 under 81 under 95 and over 95 kilogram so uh up until the par Olympic games uh that’s going to take place in September in uh 2024 we’re going to of course keep these

Weight categories and this classification categories and then after and and it’s got probably going to be in October in Great Britain we’re going to have a test with the new weight categories and here a beautiful right sided uchimata coming from juji Kato or Kato juji of [Applause] Japan the winner on M

Two in the blue Juno representing the Japan qu yui and sorry about that little mistake before it is actually the 73 kilg C here that we’re featuring and uh Kato now uh is facing J Shamy in the next round so that’s going to be a really tough opponent for him

The current uh silver medalist and former world champion and we’re going to watch some of the ladies here today in the under 57 kilogram category competing in the women’s J2 157 kilos category on m 2 in the white jog representing Japan Kudo Hoku the so featuring here in white ji

Is Kudo hiroko of Japan and in blue ji is Wang J Jan Jinan of People’s Republic of China and as I mentioned before there are two top favorites missing here today and they were registered so I’m really sad to not see them competing and I’m talking about Ena seik of Ukraine and

Zenab sik of turkey so that’s quite unfortunate but of course them with them not competing that always brings chances for the other athletes and for example for these two Athletes so the people Republic of China they were absent for quite a while I think uh in the last few years but they came back around one and a half or two years ago and um as soon as they started competing they brought a big team and they had quite astonishing results So during the last uh World Championships they had actually had three world champions all in women categories the winner on mat one in the white Judo representing Algeria ABD k malma [Applause] and on M number three we just uh are seeing current uh par Olympic champion Shirin Lee W winning his first

Contest so he is looking strong today the winner on mat three and here these athletes still have to get used to each other a bit they have a strong grip both of them left sided son coming from uh the Chinese here from W and they all are really Rec recognize

The style of the Chinese so they all are really quick they they’re in incredible shape so they just keep going for minutes representing the Republic of Korea Kim here [Applause] baby so they just keep fighting in a really uh physical style and coming with those low sonag so they’re making it

Really tough for their opponents to attack and you see that also in the scoreboard here so Kudo OKO has two penalties on the board already for paity she just doesn’t really get the chance to come up with the technique so really tough battle between these two

And you can see the one just keeps going and uh it’s quite I think this is quite un unfortunate it is a one of the tactics of the Chinese they just keep going and don’t really give any chance for their opponents to attack so if you

Are facing one of the Chinese all you have to do is try to get them under controles rep of China but it’s a first good win uh for Wong here and as I said there are chances for her here today with the top favorites missing out K category in the representing the Republic of Korea Le and and I’m interested in this contest as well because for me this is a

New face in the category Emily Betts of Great Britain so they have quite a new team here Great Britain here today so that’s really good to see Emily bet is facing Marta Aro of Spain in blue Judi she’s a was a former 63 kg athlete and lost the weight until the

57 and she did have some good results in this category and a quick ion score here unfortunate for bets but she got some experience in and she still does have a chance of a rapit charge actually the winner on mat three in the white Jud he representing the Republic of Korea leing

J so that is the risk if you go out there for the first time and uh you do need some experience and uh sometimes it’s a hard lesson in this case it is for Emily bets unfortunately for her but it’s a really strong start for arapo [Applause]

Competing on match three in the men’s J2 under 60 kilos category in the white Judo G representing Canada Justin KH and in the blue Judo representing France an [Applause] Ruben and competing on mat two in the women’s J2 are under 48 kg category in the white so we continue with the under

48 kg category and in the in white ji here is Kila of India and in blue ji is liuji of China [Applause] okay so left side of seag coming from Kila I think this could be actually an interesting uh matchup so they’re from the same continent [Applause] oh and that’s not a smart thing for Kila to do so she basically just trying to escape the pressure with a low technique

But it gives a huge chances for Le now and uh I think Kila is almost into a hold down now uh Leo trying to work on that arm and the Kila was really in trouble [Applause] there so Leu looks really strong physically and again now with after a

Sui trying to work on the [Applause] ground so straight after aim it’s uh Leu who came in with a technique not strong enough to score but it was a good attempt so Kila now trying to come in with a technique I was just going to say she

Needs to uh get in some attacks otherwise she will be penalized her posivity but I think she was kind of Saved by the Bell here now trying to work in NOA So they’re going really back and forth uh both and now it’s Kila who’s uh trying to control Le on the ground it’s just looking a little bit untidy at moments from both of them actually so they are gripping and then losing the grip on the ground and you really need to control

And uh and build on those ground techniques so you see with the really the with the NOA Specialists they will take it step by step and then if it doesn’t need to go fast but if the referee sees that there’s progress in it he won’t call a so you can really take

The time on the ground and uh you will see that in some cases happening and it’s actually really nice to see a technique coming together right from the start and I think these two athletes are struggling a bit more with that [Applause] [Applause] Spe so 50 seconds left on the clock you see the time is slowly ticking away in this contest and for me Le has looked like the stronger one during this contest she she has a small benefit with uh Kila having one penalty in a ward but also for Liu her attacks uh

Don’t look strong enough so she’s not able to score and also losing the grip quite quickly competing on M three in the men’s JT under 60 kilos category in the white jiav Lorenzo so it’s a second SH now on the board for Kila actually coming in with a beautiful attack here scoring

Aari that was unexpected for me but she is doing a great job so she is the leader now but it is interesting because she cannot afford to have one more penalty and you know one thing for sure Liu is going to go at her like crazy

Because she wants to get the win in this competition and now Leo almost throwing over Kila but I think there was a stop in that technique so she was pushing her over in the end competing on matw so a close call and uh it could be that they are looking

At that technique because if it was a continuous movement then in that case Liu is going to pick up a wazari score and it’s going to even out score so for sure Kila is hoping that doesn’t happen but she did go over in the end so it’s really good that the referee

Directors from the side and the supervisor always checking uh the system so it was a continuous movement from [Applause] Leu and um that really evens out the score and actually it brings uh troubles to kila because she already has two penalties on the board and I think she had a great

Moment had a really good score but I’m wondering if it’s going to be enough for the win Leu is a very very eager to take that a little bit too eager because uh she was a little bit sloppy with the last movement not the best technique another left sided sonag coming from

Kila it was not the perfect um well let’s say the perfect timing like it was last time when she scored if she has a good timing she has a great technique and she can be really dangerous to anyone and it’s another sui attempt coming from Leo but for me those Su

Attempts are not strong and actually he’s going to pick up Bido for that and I I agree with the referee here because was um it’s it’s not the best attempt it’s just an attempt to get an attack in that’s a much better attempt left side at uh sorry uchimata coming from

Liu and those attacks are uh much more [Applause] dangerous the winner of M three in the white Geo representing Spain Luis Danel Gavilan [Applause] [Applause] Lorenzo compe on so it’s sted to look like an interesting contest nice change of direction from Kila almost pushing over Le USA

Alex and in the blue Jud representing the People’s Republic of China [Applause] xia the winner so what a way to finish this contest Kila just beating her opponent and I think that was one of the best contest here today because they were really fighting each other

Well and this could have gone either way so it’s Kila that’s going to face the current world champion NAD Beck in the semi-finals here and uh Leo has to settle for the RIT [Applause] charge and we have uh two more quarterfinals here in this competition representing swizerland these two opponents know each

Other really well it’s a Carmen brusk of Swiss in white Judi and she is facing kahit AA of turkia in blue they H did fight each other before the winner on Match one in the blue Judo game representing the People’s Republic of China [Applause] Xian so really nicely done adjusted

Katuma from AKA throwing over Carmen brusk one of the most experienced athletes in this category and she’s around with her sister who was F fighting in the 57 kgr category so quick work for kahit AK of turkey and she finds herself in the semi-finals here today on one in the

Men’s j under 60 kilos category in the white J representing so we have one more contest in this weight category and it’s the last quarterfinal in this category with seven athletes so although it’s one of the smaller uh cies we have some good quality

Here and one of them also is on the M now Lee liing of People’s Republic of China she’s a former par Olympic champion and the men’s J2 were under 73 kilos category in the white Jud representing usbekistan Fu SE and in the blue J representing Romania Daniel

Vski but um I’m going to leave you with this category if you want to watch this mat you can click on it but uh I will switch to this mat and with the golden back patch you can see why so it’s far s of the current par Olympic champion who

Is trying to control his opponent Dan fosi of Romania here and he’s looking like he’s succeeding so he’s holding down his opponent with this s [Applause] Kaku so it’s nice to see a glimp of um glimpse of uh sov but uh we cannot get to see him very long because he already won his uh first contest and with that said I’m going to switch back uh to M number two to uh watch the contest between liy

Jing of People’s Republic of China in white Judo G and Isabel to of Germany in [Applause] blue so tall obviously one of the home favorites but quite hard against somebody like leely Jing on m 3 in the men’s J2 under 73 kilos category in the white Judo G representing luberg Roberto

De Alo lomber and in the blue Jud representing the Republic of Korea Kim Do oh that was a big ipon coming from liily Jin and all just coming up a bit too short in the competition and as I said it’s really hard between this top athletes so as if you have a bigger field with more athletes the chances of meeting somebody

Of your own level is a little bit bigger because in this category there’s just just a few but they are all so experienced and the Lee liing just beat Isabelle toall showing uh showing that and the winner on map three in the blue Judo gear representing the Republic of Korea him [Applause]

Don competing on Mat 2 in the men’s J won the 73 kilo category in the white Jun G representing Romania Flor alexand so one of the top athletes here in this first round in the under 70 or the second round I must say in the under

73 J1 athletes so on the M now in white juki is Alex bolaga of Romania he is the current world champion and he will be facing Eduardo goo of Argentina who is also one of the experienced athletes not going to be so easy for Alex here

Portug so I think last year or even a little bit before uh Bola was struggling with his leg had an injury there but uh as I heard he is uh all good now so that is really positive so a really packed category here in the 73 kgam [Applause]

Category so another attempt coming from Bola this is one of his strengths so he will be able to keep going for uh and push forward and push the pace for four minutes or 5 minutes 6 minutes into golden score so he’s one of the athletes that

Is really hard to throw and also really hard to get control [Applause] of so Bola coming in with a technique but for me not the best technique he’s still uh searching for a good timing so it’s obviously it’s the first fight he’s always the top favorite and

That’s a lot of pressure to deal with so it’s sometimes quite hard as a top favorite to find yours Rhythm and you know also all your opponents they will uh study uh your best techniques and they are prepared represen [Applause] UK so it is a hard contest as you can

See I think between these two athletes only one minute in but already so many attacks in and that takes a lot of energy out of both athletes actually so you see that um boloka has a really he’s bed over with his posture and then he keeps his arms quite close

To each other and um in that way he’s so hard to really find a space for his opponents to come up with a good technique so he’s uh really blocking off his opponents competing on match three in the men’s J2 under 73 kilos category in the white Jud representing Great Britain Mar

Sol and in the blue jog representing turkey a recept JY so 2 minutes and 45 seconds left that’s still a long time on the clock and gutu trying to find some entrance but I think he’s struggling with that it’s so hard to get really a grip and here it’s another technique coming from

Bela I don’t think his techniques are the best yet today so still more than half the contest time [Applause] left and there is the first attempt coming from goo but uh taken over by Bola not with a with the score but quite easily pushed back but it is a first

Attempt coming in from guto and I hope he finds some confidence there to come up with some more attacks the winner of mat one in the blue J representing kazakstan l so it is a Shido on the board for me that’s not the best timing here so both

Are picking up aido but for me uh goo actually came up with a with an attack or attempt for an attack j under 60 K category in the white Jud representing Uruguay Henry and it’s another attack but now really pushed back by Bela so an attack by Cotto but pushed

Over by Bela and he scores a first bazari on the board so for me boka doesn’t look so convincing yet I think he’s still needs to find his rhythm here today and of course you want to have the points and uh for qualification uh the top uh four

At least they are going to be uh separated on the draw also in the paralympic games so that really can make a big difference to avoid the other top favorites in the in the par Olympic Games in the first rounds so it is important even if you’re

Qualified to get a good ranking uh in the world ranking and although uh Bola is number one he I think he do wants to keep his rhythm so there’s only a few competitions here this year and on the other hand you do want to Peak at the right time so they

Want to be at their best in September and that’s uh still a long way from now so boloka now trying to strangle his opponent and I think it might be under the chin of Goo so guto is in trouble here and um if he Taps out he will lose this contest

Winner and I just saw on M number three miles Solan mil uh beating re chii and that must be a frustrating loss for shii he might have been the favorite during this contest and what I feel with r shifi he’s such a great athlete but he’s so

Small in this category so the new weight categories that will start after the paralympic games they might be a really good thing for him so he can move back in the under 70 kilo because that’s a much better fit I think he’s really a 66 kilogram Athlete representing Brazil Dennis Rosa so a really good contest going on here boka is struggling with his opponent goo just that GAO cannot get a good attack in he cannot really be dangerous to bologa and with Boga leading the score here with the wasi on the board

It’s going to be hard for goto here it’s another good attack from go first first let’s say better attack he lost the grip but he is coming closer so that was for me that was a poor attempt coming from Bela and I feel like he’s really defending on

That wasar score just he needs to keep on his feet and not really make any false attacks so it’s only 12 seconds left and only one more more good attack is possible for goo but the time is really ticking away on naaza here and it’s going to be a first win for

Bologa but it uh I have seen him better in the past so let’s see if he can find uh his form here in this uh competition the winner on mat one in the white jog representing Uruguay Henry VES and um winner with that said I think

It’s uh nice to take a look on Mt number three we just saw here that setto Jiro beat his opponent Dennis Rosa of Brazil so the number two seat is still in but there’s going to be a really interesting uh contest between two top athletes Nikolai cornas of Germany in white ji

And he will be facing Sergio Ian benon of Spain in [Applause] blue both are good athletes and uh they picked up their medals before I think Ian has benon is such a clever athlete really tactical uh fighter so he is always tough to beat he has a good you know he finds out what his opponents want and he’s good with his kumata

Kakan so uh first sacrifice technique coming from IES bonon followed up by animata from corn so this going to be fun to watch both athletes are uh really going for it have good attacks and cornas has a really upright style so good big hip throws goodu chatas and

Then you have ianas bonon who is quite Tactical so another drop technique coming from iben hasb on and he always wants to disturb his opponents a little bit like keep them from getting into their own Rhythm and it can get uh their opponents very frustrated I’ve seen that many

Times and even as Pon just keep to school and then find some hole for technique at some point so this is the thing that even as Bon needs to take care of a little bit because this is not the best attempt coming from him he’s just trying to get

Down his athlete the other athlete trying to get a technique in but he can get uh penalized for false attacks at some point right sided uh what ended up being a makikomi from cornas spe so both athletes yet have to find the opening score so they are struggling to find a a

Really big space for a technique again evenes banon coming with a uh sacrifice technique but for me that’s not a good technique he came it he just was standing still so you really want to get a response from your opponent so you want to push and then he will block it

For example you can use that movement so it’s a question of the reaction of your opponent and how to use that strength nice strong right sided grip of ibenz banon just wasn’t be able to follow up with the technique here and it’s still really an open

Contest I couldn’t tell you who is going to win this one so again a strong right sided grip of ibenz Bon trying to control his opponent and coming in with a sacrifice technique he’s just not dangerous with those ones but he is struggling uh or he is troubling cornas with it because cornas

Doesn’t find a way for him to come in with his own technique so corn just needs to find a way to control his opponent a bit more so as we progress uh during the day of course uh it h it gets heated up the quality gets even

Higher and uh it’s really good to see so many good uh fights going on already during the a competition here today So 1 minute and 25 seconds left and you can see here a hint of the technique of cornas he has such a great right sided uchimata just losing the grip a little bit too quickly so as soon as he finds some resistance also he’s losing the grip and you can’t do it

Because you’re afraid of being taken over but you do need that grip to come up with a good score so right side of makikomi just uh from cornos just couldn’t control that one arm of iben has Bon so with the makiki you really need a lot of control on one side of

Your opponent you need to lock in that arm and that uh was not happening for cornos here so a second wasi or second sorry penalty on the board now for ibenz bonon for for paity so he has two shidos on the board now and he cannot afford

Another Shido so things are starting to look better for Cornus and for me he just looks physically looks a bit stronger than his opponent and even as Bon looks like he’s is struggling against cornas now he’s working on the arm of iben Bon [Applause] cornos and switching uh to try to hold

Down Ian hasb on actually he does have a good position here even has is just holding on to the leg of uh of cornas and he’s doing that quite cleverly also with his arm and uh turning over his opponent here so no uh danger there we just see

It on from the wrong direction so I think coras is trying to strangle even as bonon he just don’t have the right angle but it’s a meta Here [Applause] So Contest time gone and I’m not surprised to see a golden score between these two top athletes Nikolai cornas and Serio ibenz benon of Spain coras of Germany of course one of the home favorites here here Yoko tag coming from cornas and as long as cornas can keep attacking against hesbon

I think the favorite to win the contest here and I really feel like uh there’s not much left in the tank of ibenz bonon and I am surprised to see that and it shows something of the strength of cornos because IAS Bon is normally physically really strong and he can keep Going so you can see the referee already hinting and asking uh for a Shido so I think um he was just checking with the referee directors or the referee supervises to make sure it if it was needed or not so they decided to give ianz benon a little bit more time Here but I think Iz banon should be really warned here he really needs to come up with a technique otherwise he will lose out with three [Applause] penalties and uh you can see that the that is the case here so Iz Bon just picked up his third Cheeto Germany Nikolai

Cornos so cornos needs to win his next fight for even has been on to have a repid [Applause] charge and uh before we go to the next one it it might be nice uh to take a look at met number one because we haven’t seen much of this category yet

In the men’s J2 under 73 kilos category in the white Judo repres and this is the under 60 kgam category of J1 four men and you can see mies Gonzalez of Cuba here in white juki and rudnik of Ukraine in blue and uh rudnik is leading this contest with aari score

With only 11 seconds left in this contest the winner on M two in the blue J representing TOA G so some final movements coming from Gonzalez here trying his best to try to get close to rudnik but I don’t think there’s enough time here I think there’s time for one more good

Attack and rudnik just picked up his second Cheeto and and uh it’s going to be all over for Gonzalez of course there’s still chances for him so this is still the first round in this category and uh there’s a few top athletes as in at each category so we already sawu shuin win his first contest

He’s the silver medalist of the last World Championships we have Miguel viira of Portugal who is the current world champion and we also have uh capil parar of India who is writing history for India with the picking up medals and I think he’s the first world medalist for India in the par Olympic

Judo so uh he already has beautiful results and he is actually the number one seed here today and uh for me this is also an interesting contest because I love to see new faces and the SE SLO of the Netherlands is one of them and actually Darren Harris of Great Britain

I haven’t seen around for much either so they have both have new teams and um the chances of these uh qualifying for the Paralympics are maybe a little bit small they’re too early but uh they will have a good experience here during these competitions and they’re all about the future

The winner on P three in the white Judo G representing Georgia so as you can see right after aim the pressure is on and they will need to try to get to their attack and in this case it’s uh Harris that’s working in naaza trying to turn over his opponent and in the blue Jud representing Lithuania osaras

And here a really nice uh adjusted kakuma coming from SLO so the referee is checking uh if uh this was enough for a score and that uh could be the case here in my opinion and with that said uh it’s at still 3 minutes and 13 seconds so if you want to

Watch this contest you can uh click on this channel so there’s no wasar on the board but we uh need to take a look look on M number three here because it’s uh the Paro Olympic champion usun kuray of USB istan who is competing here against osal

Baris of Lithuania who’s also a par Olympic medalist I must say so it’s a top contest going on Baris is a 73 kilogram athlete but uh Kuran bayv is actually coming up from the 66 kilogram category so he and his teammate ferus sov both picked up a gold medal in the last par

Olympic Games so although kurum bayv uh he might be the favorite uh because he is the Paro Olympic champion I think uh they’re quite evenly matched Baris is a steady athlete right side at uchimata attempt coming from kuram bayv just a hint of it turning back and now a left side at hip

Throw coming from Baris so uh really uh really nice to see these two uh going back and forth so this is the last contest in this um round of the 73 kilogram category and after this uh I will take a short break but of course the contest uh will keep

Going and you will be able to watch each mat so bar is looking good for me today he is looking in control spe so the atlet uh always have to be tidied up so to make sure there’s no possible blood or anything uh that can cause a little mess of

Course that is a part of the game not happening very often but at some cases they need to be tidied up so on the category I think um no uh really big surprises yet so sov is still in mamedov is still in sat is still in coras is still in

And I’m excited to see this quarterfinals for this category here bar is coming on to the mat actually this will be one of the top favorites going out here today one of them right s side of seag that was a morot seag coming from kuray really nice

Timing actually so right after aim he surprised his opponent no scores on the board but they might check it again to see if that was a Rari score so was getting close to scoring I think for me Baris looked like the better athlete Little Bit Stronger physically

But Kur bayv came closest to score in the winner on mat two in the white Juno representing Portugal J [Applause] [Applause] halfa competing on map 2 in the name J1 under 73 kilos in the white Jud G representing Kazakhstan Yi sh and in the blue Judo G representing Japan Ki so this is also uh one of the challenges of being in a contest where one of the athletes needs to be tidied

Up so as an athlete that if you are the one that needs to be tided up you have the stress because if this happens too often you will be disqualified you’re not able to compete anymore and um of course if you look at the headband of faaris it cannot be uh

Very comfortable but also if you’re on the mat you need to stay focused so you don’t know how long it’s going to take it’s it’s a really a break in the rhythm of the contest so it is not so easy the so uh just a minute left in this contest

And it’s still uh looks active and good just not the best technique in this case coming from Baris so I missed out on uh seeing Kur bayv in the competition registration L and maybe I looked over him because he wasn’t competing for a While spe for spe [Applause] the winner of Matt 2 in the white Judo representing Kazakhstan you’re going sh So it’s going to be a golden score here between these two in the3 Kory in the jesenia C and in the blue representing Kazakhstan sorry kst interesting development in this competition here between these two athletes still no scores on the board so it’s going to be a gold

Score you can see here that kurai have such a great Morag on that side needs to find a good timing to uh throw over his opponent he came close a few times but I think this is one of the other examples he is a 66 kilogram athlete he was the par Olympic champion

In that weight category and uh obviously that category is not existent anymore so he had to move up until the 73 and uh with his other teammate um being uh the top seat uh side off it it is really hard for him so he might benefit the new weight categories that’s

Going to be there in the the end of the year and that’s going to be the under 70 kilogram for him but with that there’s going to be a lot of athletes coming up from the 60 to the 70 kilo so it’s going to be a mixup and uh these athletes all

Will have to have some time to get used to that new categories so you see that both uh they have uh techniques that are okay but they just uh lack a little bit of strength to really throw over their opponent so 45 seconds into this golden score already

So again technique coming from kuray I think he is looking quite well doesn’t lose too much strength in this contest so he looks quite agile still quite fit [Applause] so you see that Baris is struggling a bit more both they’re tired obviously it’s taking a big toll of out of these athletes

But I I feel like this contest took a bit more out of Paris he looked like the stronger one in the opening seconds but now he’s starting to collapse a little bit doesn’t say anything because he can still come up with a really good technique as you see here and here just

He is showing that he’s the stronger one just push pushing over the par Olympic champion kuram bayv here and it’s Baris that is taking a really important win in this category so beautifully done and it was an interesting contest I think uh kuram bay have just lacked a little bit of physical strength

Here the winner on map three in the blue Judo G representing Lithuania OAS BZ [Applause] so this is going to be an absolute top athlete top fight between these two uh well they’re both can call themselves par Olympic Champions on the left side you have sh namazov who is the par

Olympic champion of Rio De Janeiro but vugar shirini is the par Olympic champion in uh of Tokyo so uh he is the current par Olympic champion so what a battle between these two I’m going to leave you to it and taking a short break but uh happy to see you back

Soon and uh please enjoy this contest spe spe one golden score For winner representing Great Britain Darren Harris competing France Aro Rodriguez and in the blue J representing Emanuel Gomez mat golden score the winner on in the representing Ines koreen in for for spe spe spe win thees France Aro Rodriguez the winner on in the blue Jud representing the

Republic competing on one in the women’s J in the representing Mongolia thees and in the representing for spe guys spe for for Winner sc3 Inesa and in theud representing Italy Mich he winner thees Kore on in’s in The so happy to be back welcome uh to uh see the quarterfinals of the H 60 kilogram category of J2 two athletes and we have a quarterfinal between ishak U there of Algeria and he is facing Louise kavan Lorenzo of Spain we just saw Lee mini beating his opponent in the quarterfinal so we we’ll see him back later in the semi-finals here today so we’re slowly progressing to uh the matches that really Matter so also this category has 13 athletes it’s not the biggest of the categories but there’s so much quality in here as well so we have Lee in the semi-finals but uh today also we’re still going to see namazov shirini that fight just took place but we’ll see

Them later today we have older here G Lorenzo David Cora so it’s a really nice to watch these athletes mat one the score [Applause] for so Goin Renzo now had a good grip to throw over his opponent so old CER did the right thing with uh just collapsing

On the ground I think that’s smart he was in danger there a little bit the winner of mat one in the blue representing Indonesia Novia l Competing on mat one in the women’s J one under 48 kg category in the white Juno representing Japan H sh cha and in the blue Jud representing Greece Emmanuela muru so really nice movement from gavon so sacrifice technique here scoring a wazari score against old G there honestly to my opinion old cor

There is struggling a bit uh in this competition I’ve seen him in better shape and again a good technique coming oh this time it’s coming from old cordair but not throwing over G Lorenzo so still the wasi on the board uh it’s sayful cair here actually

So old there trying to uh control his opponent on the ground trying to free up his leg and with that said he’s burning also sometime of the clock because uh on the scoreboard he is in the lead with the bazari score and the only 43 seconds left in this

Contest again it’s a sacrifice technique from alcoy there but not really strong one I think that’s purely meant to just keep keep going and preventing gavon Lorenzo from coming in with the technique actually gavon now picks up the Shido for paity so things are not really looking good for him [Applause]

Mat two golden score so with 13 seconds left old cair is just trying to control his opponent in Nea and I think he’s doing a really clever thing here just keeping that control and not giving gavon any chance of of coming back in his contest I think it was a tough contest

For both of them and uh I have seen Gavilon Lorenzo in better shape as well so they uh are struggling a bit here winner so D Lorenzo still has a chance of a br so he will go to the re charge have and then oldco there we’ll see later in the

Semi-finals so so I’m expecting a more explosive contest uh now between David kava of Ukraine the former world champion of People’s Republic of China in the representing the People’s Republic of China xia so kava is one really small athlete who is actually going to have uh not

Been so he’s not benefiting the new weight category structure of the end of the year so he can enjoy the under 60 he is another sexy athlete but after uh the Paralympics the new light this category is going to be the under 70 kilo so first attempt coming from xia [Applause] [Applause] shu the winner Weck contest here fora he looks in top shape and he’s going to face old there in the next round that’s going to be tough for him because old there is so t and he is quite small in this category so that’s a

Going to be a nice Clash competing on in the’s 73 K category in the white J representing so now in this quarterfinals for the under 73 kilo J2 athletes and the first seed seated here is ferus sov of usbekistan who is the current paralympic champion and he is

Facing Kim dongon of People’s Republic of of sorry of uh Korea competing on Mat 2 in the women’s J2 under 57 kilo category in the white Judo G representing usbekistan kishan K and in the blue Judo G representing Brazil Maria newa dos Santos VZ [Applause] mat one golden score so sov always takes his time to come up with the technique he looks uh controlled and also not having an easy opponent here against Kim dun of the Republic of Korea right side at sonagi attempt coming from s off and now he has a really strong grip

Actually coming in with a good second technique so sov looks really active during this contest another right side at son and then Kim tries to do the same thing with sov but it gives sov some attempt to work in the ground although he doesn’t seem too interested in it so

Not really an attempt coming from sov right sided attempt coming from Kim now so they’re really going back and forth after Kim atack there were two attacks from [Applause] sov the winner on mat in the white Judo representing usbekistan winner representing Japan sha competing competing on map 2 in the women’s J2 under 57 kilo category in the white Judo G are representing Argentina Laura candel Gonzalez and in the blue Judo G representing the Republic of China that

Was a really nice attempt coming from side of left uchimata and scoring a first masaran aboard and here you can see some of the quality and why he became a par Olympic champion he such a great and in the blue Judo G representing Italy Valerio antha [Applause] So it’s a waser lead now for sov and Kim is the one that needs to try to even out the score and another really well good attempt on the feet so as she was coming from s off and he’s starting to look better and better during this [Applause] competition so a right sided attempt coming from Kim but not really getting close to uh side [Applause] Off so another attempt coming from side off I don’t think that was meant to really come up with a good score mostly to take some time off the clock and uh to come up with another good technique so s of is keeping the pace of this cont is quite slow and I don’t

Think that’s in the benefit of Kim I think Kim would need some movement to come up with a good uh Low Shoulder throw if he like now he’s trying to do another Low T technique Kim but there’s no movement at all so he’s not really threatening s off

Just one minute left in his contest The People’s Republic of China [Applause] Wang so this is a better attempt coming from Kim but he uh almost ends up in the in a shim Wasa in some strangle but it was a slightly better effort coming from Kim just doesn’t seem like he’s really in control here so is controlling the whole contest really strong [Applause]

Attack and in the blue jar representing Germany Arona bruing okay so Kim just has a few seconds left to come up with something good and side of is I think just doing the right thing I don’t think it was a good attempt but he can afford to pick up a penalty for

That and he will be still in control so let’s see if Kim has enough to uh offer something but no it’s Kim almost going over again and uh sov just needs to well work a little bit on the ground and that’s going to be all over so a good win for S off

Here winner inist winner representing competing on three the men’s J2 under 73 kilo category in the white Jud G representing Ukraine in white Mah made off of Ukraine and in blue I think one of the surprises of today miles Soloman of Great Britain doing well beating both of his opponents

Andya and Chi today and they are not bad opponents at all so he will um finish in the top eight today which is already a really good result for him but obviously he wants more and uh he will try to beat mahome of here here a right sided uh

Kakomi from mamedov scoring a was first wazari on the board so mahed is always quite wild in his first few minutes he keeps piling on the attacks and that’s going to be really hard for solom man because there are good attacks as well so trying that coachi makikomi again

Nice uh oari coming from Soloman but almost taken over after with a hip throw of mahed off just able to block that and now it’s solom man trying to work in aaza so I know in previous competitions mamedov found himself struggling with the rules uh sometimes trying like

Breaking the grip quite quickly and trying to fight with some hands one hand at some point so uh he um is penalized a lot in the past but he seems to have that uh under control in this contest so left side of technique coming from Soloman but not breaking any balance of

Mahome of here but he is uh putting Mah made on his first Cheeto so actually the first minute now is let’s say is gone and uh mov looks a little bit more calmed here another good technique coming from him but not able to score but he is I

Think bringing uh some trouble to uh solom man yeah he’s strangling solom man uh so an nion score for mamedov and he is going to go through to the semi finals here today Jaan so let’s see if he can keep going like that he will face the par

Olympic Champions tiid off so that’s going to be an interesting battle ukat [Applause] mov competing on mat in the women’s J 2 are under 57 kilos category in the white Judo Le are representing Brazilia Aro and in the blue J representing Spain Maro on the M now is setto Jiro of Japan in white J on the left and Nikolai cornos of Germany on the right in blue Jude in thees so satto picked up a bronze medal in last per Olympic Games in a 66 kgr category and Cornus is a proper 73 kgam

Athlete very experienced winner and doing well today finding himself in in the quarterfinals here oh that was really beautiful right side at Morag coming from stto he looks in top shape here today completely throwing over uh coras so a quick win for sat in um we’re

Gonna see cornos back in the winner in the rep charge contest representing Japan competing on M one in the m j one under so we have one more quarterfinal left in this category and it’s going to be another really good one against between gorgi Kalani of Georgia in white

Judi and he will be facing bis of Lithuania in3 the well let’s see what they have to offer here today and in the’s already won a par Olympic uh V so both athletes also really know each other and uh gani is one of the strongest athletes in this category and he has

Really explosive Judo and also what I like is that uh well he’s been um not leading let’s say behind with the bazari for many times many contest and then he still pulls out a win in the end so he will keep uh being dangerous until the last seconds of this contest

Oh that was a good attempt coming from Baris here and on M number two AR poo of Spain just beat her opponent and she’s going to be in the semifinals here against junko competing on mat two in the so K Kanani really uh pushing uh and using his strength to overpower bis

The representing India so if you want to keep watching this contest you can of course by clicking on the right mat but we’re going to take a look at Matt number two because one of the top favorites of today is competing here in white chudi you can see that on a red backpatch

She’s the current world champion akarat and she’s facing Kila of India here in uh in blue jog so Kila had a very rough first contest and this is just the first contest of NB so right s side at uchimata from NAD Beck and really I think also using her

Strength to push over Kila so a first rosari on the board here and now uh nadek trying to work in naaza she’s also really strong in that and now working on the arm and that actually looks quite strong and Kila trying to hold On the winner of Mattan in the white so both athletes making sure they have a good grip before they start off the contest again so here you can see also there’s a big strength difference between NAD and Kila so Kila trying to get in with the technique but right away stopped actually that’s

Uh arm lock that was putting on it looked it looked effective and on but Kila didn’t have to tap out and in the blue J representing theas Republican another technique coming from Kil I think she has good jido she has good timing but uh now what Beck looks just a

Bit stronger than her opponent but who knows what’s happening because Kila was struggling in our last contest in in a similar way and but still managed to pick up a [Applause] win and this was a good attempt coming from kilas just again missing a bit of strength but uh she has some good technique Here and Now ATB again working on the ground and that’s starting to look almost on and if that’s on there’s really not much escaping from

It but uh it looks like it’s still possible to get out of it just a few seconds left to do that no it’s not going to be for Kila here no back uh still in the lead and uh still in the road to uh become uh the champion here today so she

Is one of the first ones to reach the final here the winner on mat in the white J representing Kazakhstan and let’s find out who will be her opponent here in this under 48 kilogram category of J2 athletes for women and we are going to see a contest between turkia and

Of China women under 4 Kory in the G representing tea jigi and in the blue Jud representing the People’s Republic of China Le in the white ji here is K of turkey and in the blue ji is leing of People’s Republic of China and the first shittle on the board just

Within the first five seconds and that can still happen you know if you make a really false attack and you go to the ground without any uh well disturbance of your opponent or getting your opponent of balance it can lead to a Shido but now things are looking good for leely J

Holding down her opponent and this contest might be over before you know it if she manages to hold on to this oyy so kahit a is trying to do everything to uh break this hyy but not happening for her and it’s a really good result for Lee

Ding so she is a former par Olympic champion but she also has had some rough years where she lost quite some contact but here she is back in the final against NAD Beck the winner on Mat 2 in the blue Judo representing the People’s Republic of China on M number three it’s Baris

Who’s showing to be really strong today he just beat one of the other favorites Gori Kalani and he will be facing setto in the semifinal finals competing on M two in the mids J1 73 kg in the white Judo game representing Romania Floren alexandreia and in the blue Judo representing usbekistan sh

Mammadov competing on Matt one in the men’s J1 60 kg category in the white Judo G representing Portugal Miguel viira and in the blue Jude representing Kazakhstan murov compe so we’re going to take a look at the quarterfinals of the under 73 kog ceg repic Al and in the blue Judo representing usbekistan

Shard Amazon we’re just waiting for the athletes to arrive to the scene not sure what’s happening to mov so Alex Bela in white is already waiting but um shaku mov of usbekistan is missing out here so I’m seeing we can see that on the top uh of the venue that he’s uh he

Is coming now so interesting contest between the top favorite Alex Boga and shaku mov so for me Alex Bola doesn’t look at his best yet but it can be also the opening contest the nerve that you have the position as a top favorite you know it brings a lot of pressure for these

Athletes so so normally he will grow during the tournament and get better by each contest so it’s really a left against right nice entrance for bologa almost a perfect timing and getting underneath the body of mamadov just not enough leverage to really score something for so the referee makes sure that they’re

All tied it up they have the ghee under their belt and uh they can start this contest again you can see nice uh little piece of foodwork so at the moment there are two current world champions on the met on M number one there’s uh Miguel Vieira of Portugal

And on this mat we’re looking at Alex Boga of Romania both are current world champions the winner of mat three in the blue Jude representing usbekistan Shar on [Applause] Amazon another technique coming from Bela but almost taken over there so the problem for belga is that people are all studying his Judo because

He’s been uh winning so many uh of the Championships isra I think probably he’s the most studied athlete uh one of the most studied athletes in the scene representing can that means that uh his opponents will know his moves and are prepared really well for his Judo

Left side at sonag this time I think he has a really good uh momentum he’s right underneath the body just needs to have a little bit Spa less space between him and his opponent and I’m talking about bologa here so it’s two minutes and 19 seconds left on seconds left on the

Clock and uh no scores yet but uh both athletes looking quite agile and going for it that’s really nice to see the winner on mat three in the blue Jud G representing Canada Justin K so there so many good uh fights going on at this moment we have two world

Champions on the mat on the mat number three there’s also going to be a par Olympic champion on the mat for the semifinals of the under 60 so as soon as this one is finished we hope to see still a glimpse of that contest but I will keep you updated about that one

And then to give you an update that was a really quick contest on the other mat so Shirin Le just threw over his opponent already but uh for sure we will see him later today in the final block the winner on match three in theud representing and on this mat we’re

Watching now it’s still an open contest just the one penalty on the board and uh just a great attack coming from Bela but um he just lost his grip completely on the way down so as soon soon as he’s able to hold on to that grip I see a

Biger chances for him to score competing on MX three in the men’s J2 under 60 kilo category in the white Judo G representing Algeria isaaca and in the blue Jud representing Ukraine d so mov trying to move around in his opponent but he doesn’t really get close

To a good attack and he only has 50 seconds left another good attempt coming from Boa this I’m getting closer to his score the winner on mat one in the white Jud representing [Applause] Portugal and on M number one the world champion Vieira just beat his opponent so he’s going to continue to

The next round as well competing on one in the 60 in the white J representing Henry so mov already on Two shidos And this is a repetition of so many of the contests of bua and he’s just a very tactical athlete so he keeps attacking as you can see here just

Another attack in with a low SE and he just doesn’t give any opportunity to his opponents uh to really come up with something so 16 seconds left but uh still no scores on the board so we could see another golden score here mat one in the white Judo G representing Uruguay Henry mores

[Applause] Competing on mat one in the J1 men under 60 kilo category in the white Judo here representing Brazil Elon de Ola and in the blue Jud G representing Ukraine miky so it’s going to be a golden score between these two athletes and the advantage is there for Bela because mov

Already has two penalties on the board and he cannot afford another penalty because then he uh would lose in this contest another left side at seag I think actually uh Baka is struggling a little bit with the height of mov so mov is really tall and the

Chance of having too much space between you and the body of your opponent are well are bigger and he just cannot get enough control bologa cannot get enough control to really score but he does get some good attacks in so M of trying to work in neasa against

Boga but Boga looking strong and in control the winner on Matt one in the white J representing Brazil and sometimes from the side it can look quite easy right so uh you be able to say that come on you can come up with some other attacks against bologa

So that you look less passive but it also has to do with the way he grips his kumata is so strong so Bela really locks in his opponent without looking very passive so he’s so smart with that and here’s another technique in and that’s enough with the forari score so

Another tough contest for Bela he’s not getting easy wins here today but uh he is in the semi-finals and uh with that said uh I we take a look at the mat number three because this is the semifinals already on this mat and that’s for the J2 under 60 kilogram category for

Men and it’s a half the contest time gone a little bit more it says still 1 minute and 45 seconds left on the clock and the score is really even there’s no scores on the board but there is a penalty for each athlete Here competing on Mat 2 in the men’s J one under 73 kilo category in the white Judo green representing tury oh that was beautifully done not sure if that was enough for a for an hit score actually but that was great footwork coming from kurava he’s so good with that he just

Needs uh one one tiny space one tiny moment to throw over his opponent yeah I think they’re going to check if that’s a wasi or a nipon score but that was a beautiful action coming from kurava yeah and it’s going to be an nipple and I I would have said so but

It’s always really hard to see if it’s really flat on the back or if there’s some small stop in continuation presenting Ukraine DAV Cora but really nice to see a final between uh um vugar Shirin the current par Olympic champion of aaban and he will be facing the guy we just saw

Scoring beautifully David kava of Ukraine3 really nicely done representing Romania Daniel vosi and in the Judo G representing the Republic of Korea gim Donh so we have some uh rapid charge contests here in the J2 under 73 [Applause] [Applause] kilogram and um on the M here are Daniel vosi of Romania and he’s facing Kim dun of Republic of [Applause] [Applause] Korea [Applause] some uh really good contest going on on each mat I think but we’ll stick to this mat and uh see what’s going on Here [Applause] my speech [Applause] spee [Applause] so nice attempt coming from fosi not throwing over his [Applause] Opponent so they both took a loss against uh current par Olympic champion ferus sov and I think in this match are quite evenly matched left side at seag really quick coming in from Kim nice attempt just losing the grip again I think that’s a always a challenge in Judo because as

Soon as you feel resistance of your opponent you’re also in a risk of being taken over sometimes if the diretion is coming really quick you’re sometimes tempted to lose that and to fall to the ground and find a safe spot basically and but you need to take some

Risk to uh come up with a good score another left or right side at seag coming from Kim he uh is starting to look quite good in his contest [Applause] spe [Applause] so a Shido now on the board or the second Shido actually for Daniel fosi so Kim just looking a bit more [Applause] active and if Kim keeps this tactics and vosi will do the same he will just pick up a third done in the end and Kim will win this

Contest so another right side at son so Kim is really pushing it and trying to find a better entry for for an action I really like that you see some of the athletes some days start really with strong techniques and with a little bit of surprising element and then it um

Well it gets less effective during the contest but others they are fing a win way to have a better entrance for their technique so at some moments you see them doing the same technique like Kim doing a right Mor to seag trying it from different angles and then after three

Minutes or so he finds a solution and comes up with the score that’s always really nice to See and also Kim is the one that’s really pushing forward [Applause] for so just a wasi on the board but uh almost the second one here good uh sacrifice technique coming from Kim and his coach is just I think telling him to stick to that Morag just to keep working on that lapel with his right hand so with his right hand that’s

A typical thing you see with Korean athletes they’re so good with controlling that grip [Applause] so only 28 seconds left on the clock let’s see if uh Daniel fski can do something about it the winner on map two in the blue Judo G representing Portugal J so that was

Actually a really good attempt [Applause] there and now trying to work on the arm of Kim I think he’s doing really well here let’s see if he can break that grip so uh Kim is trying to desperately hold on to that arm and I think it’s the last

Moments and chance of varosi and it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen for him so he had a good tournament here today he beat hin in the first round but after that he had to suffer two losses so he’s out under 73 K but will continue white J game representing

Kazakhstan and in the blue J G we’re representing the Kass Republic mov the winner on map three in the blue Juno G represent the Republic of Korea [Applause] [Applause] kim3 so coming on to the Met now is rubenis of Portugal and he will be facing miles Soloman of Great Britain and I think Soloman for me is the surprise of today let’s say and uh he fought really well in all of his three matches just lost one and

He finds himself here in this RIT charge contest and Gonzo is um he lost his first contest against mov so that’s always a rough start but he has another shot here for Spe so a first uh Su me attempt coming from solom [Applause] Man C so it’s the first Shido on the board here for Gonzales Soloman looking just a bit more active in this contest Matan golden score now a right side of sonag coming from Gonzales he so what I noticed today that that there’s so many tight contests between

These athletes and you can that tells you something about the level of the athletes so the the closer the contest get because before let’s say uh five to 10 years ago you could see that there were a lot of contest finished off by a nipon quite soon because the difference

In level was could be quite big in the opening rounds but that’s not the case here so all the athletes are trained they don’t come to a competition uh for fun they all want to win and uh you can see that the level here is

Really high and that ends up in uh a lot of contest uh being finished off with a with a small score or even in the golden score so the referee is making sure that they have the right kumata so in many cases if both athletes are happy and uh they

Can have a left against right grip or left against left doesn’t really matter if they’re both quite comfortable with it the referee will call Aim but if they’re not sometimes they will keep pushing to get the same lapel and the same height for example uh on the same

Side and then the referee will choose pick one of them and he will start with the white joki and they can have their first pick and then with the next uh cause of action it will be the other way around so that’s just making sure that

It’s really fair and equal for both of these athletes That was really nicely done left side at sonag coming from solom man scoring a bazari score here so great technique coming from [Applause] him now is time right side at maky attempt oh really beautifully done with solom man again a beautiful technique taking gavz to the back and scoring a huge hit B

Here and he’s still in the race to pick up a bronze medal the winner on match three in the blue Judo representing Great Britain m sonan [Applause] so there’s another two contests at least in this category in the J2 under 73 and as those are both in the reper

Charge3 and the first one is dennise Rosa Brazil and he will be facing Nikolai corna so Germany in in blue Jud sorry Rosa and white and the corna of course being the home favorite so there’s a lot of cheering for him he has a really positive attitude also and and

I think uh he’s enjoying the contest today at least it seems so I wouldn’t be surprised if these two athletes don’t know each other so if they never faced each other before you first just want to make sure what is the reaction of your opponent you don’t want

To uh just do something and being taken over easily because that’s his specialty for example so it’s always good to realize what the other one is doing how he’s reacting so it could be in in an opening minute they just try to make some small attacks just to make sure

What is the reaction so nice uh Yoko coming from Corn house round golden so strong right sided grip of cornos just walking off the Met area so uh no chance for him to really come up with a score but uh looking strong in this first minute Again a strong right-handed grip and as soon as he can I think cornos will try to come up with a really good right s side at uchimata or a big HP throw white Judo G representing Great Britain Darren Harris competing on Matan in the women’s J1

Under 48 kilo category in the white Judo G representing Ukraine Natalia Niki and in the blue repres a really nice right sided technique coming from cornhouse scoring a first wasi score here so cornos in the lead and still in the run for a bronze medal here and on mat number two it’s just

Been shame the current silver medalist who uh beat his opponent and he will be in the semi-final and that concludes this contest another good score for cornas showing his quality here in the white representing kazakstan really well done by cornos and uh he will face uh one of the next two

Opponents in his next round and it’s not going to be easy I can tell you that already competing on that one in the women’s J one under 48 kilo category in the white Judo G are representing Germany Anna toy M and in the blue Judo G representing

Indonesia no so another chance to see a paral Olympic champion here kurv of usbekistan here in white Judi the par Olympic champion of the under 66 kilogram and he is facing uh European Champion Yori Kalani of Georgia both a really strong athletes and I’m curious here what’s going to happen because Kuran Baya for me is a technically really skilled athlete but he’s lacking maybe some physical strength in his category and he’s now facing one of the strongest athletes of this category so I’m really interested to see what Happens so both really trying to control the kumata the grips here [Applause] so they’re working a lot on the grips but they need to hold on to grips in order to not get penalized so you need to keep those grips on you can only regrip but you cannot do that [Applause]

Constantly almost looks like Kalani looks a little bit uh uncomfortable or a little bit annoyed with something not sure what it is competing on nice attempt coming from kodani not coming up with a score but good attempt Kudo hiroku and in the blue Judo are representing Argentina Laura Candela

Gonzalez and the winner on M two wearing the white Juno representing Japan Kuru [Applause] huru competing on map two in the women’s J2 under 57 kilo category in the white Judo G representing Great Britain Emily BS and in the blue Judo G representing Brazil Luchia arua so uh Kalani still looks

Disturbed and uh he’s right about that because he’s uh one wasar behind or at least they’re checking that the winner on Mat 2 in the blue J representing Brazil it’s a nipp scorer here for kuram bayv so uh I think a disappointing result for Kalani and the winner on map three in

The white Jud representing but Kur still in for a bronze medal and he’s going to face the home favorite cornos in the next round competing on mat three in the men’s J2 under 60 kilo category in the white Judo representing bistan shazard naov and blue Judo G up representing Canada Justin

KH competing on matu in the women’s J2 under 48 kilo category in the white Judo G representing Switzerland K bring and in the blue Judo G representing Germany isab so that was a beautiful Aon as you could see by namazov former par Olympic champion so he made really short work of his contest

Here and we’re going to see him later today for the bronze medal contest not sure if they going to check that so in case uh oh this they’re going to take it out so it’s going to be a roari score so the contest is not over

Yet going to see the rest of the contest between sh namazov and Justin K and it just shows that namazov is a really great athlete so uh no chance here for Justin Kar yet and uh namas will be facing uh isak there for the bronze medal contest [Applause]

So there’s just one more contest in this J2 under 60 kilogram category for men competing on Max three in men’s Kil in the white representing and that is this contest so this is the last contest to decide who’s going to be fighting for the medals here today in this

Category so Louise Gavilan of Spain is uh in white ji here and jiau of People’s Republic of China in blue and the winner of this one will be facing Lee mini of uh Republic of Korea spe so a first good attempt coming from Xiao Left sided technique not throwing

Over his opponent but it was a good attack and and these attacks can be so important because it’s the first real attack in and uh gabilon Lorenzo is the one that hasn’t got any attacks and he is straight away in danger of uh getting a penal

Ized so he knows that and he’s starting to look more active right away7 kilo category in the white Judo representing usbekistan hon K and in the blue Judo representing the People’s Republic of China wangan the winner already on twoos actually here was a quick [Applause] work competing in one in the women’s J1

Under 48 kilo category in the white Juno representing tur eimin C and in the blue J G representing so this contest again is looking a little bit untidy and I think that has more to do with the with the kumat and the grips of Z Xiao who’s trying to regrip all the

Time so yaia actually has to watch out that he just keeps the grip because otherwise he’s just in danger of picking up a third Cheeto and that will be a shame competing on mat one in the women’s J one under 48 King category in the white Jud representing Argentina

Roio and in the blue Jud representing Japan Ang shizuka [Applause] so uh hard attempt coming from jaia Sho but um just losing the grip so although it looked strong didn’t do much against Gabon Lorenzo so now go Lorenzo is just really pushing down his opponent I don’t think that’s looking very positive

So immediately gavon Ren is always trying to go to that left side with his left hand on top but I think Kia is controlling that left arm and again for me I I don’t like that too much sh is coming up with a technique but losing the grip right away

So not really going for it so both on two shidos now and that’s going to make it quite interesting to say the least so another hand over the top but again jao crumbling down under the pressure of gavan lenzo so it’s not the most attractive contest

To watch to be fair and that’s because they’re just pushing so much uh and they’re controlling trying to control the the kumata of the opponent again chiau just going to the ground without any technique and for me he’s getting quite close to pick up a third Cheeto so the referee is giving them

Some more time but okay this was a technique where Kavin was off balance a little bit but it’s just not the best techniques um yeah actually curious what the referee is going to do now in this case no he’s just bringing them to the middle of the mat again another attempt from gavon

Lorenzo but it is going to be a golden score they are just struggling so much with the grip of each other so no uh big attacks coming from them just mostly trying to control the grip Got [Laughter] a for me that’s another not uh really great attempt and uh gavel make good use of that so jao again he went to the ground with a poor technique and Gavilan Lorenzo just make use of that and uh it shows that he is an experienced athlete

So we just need one small mistake from your opponent and it was a tough better one I I think Kavon Lorenzo is struggling today to be fair and uh I think then it’s sometimes uh I’m extra impressed with these athletes that even if you don’t have your best day or whatever

Then you still uh he is fighting for a bronze medal so he can uh make his day really well so it doesn’t matter all the time in in the way you win you just need to win your contest and he’s doing that and he will face Lee for the bronze medal and in

The representing Ukraine and we’re going to continue with some other semifinals here in the J2 under 73 kgam cont competition and it’s going to be uh between Fus sov of usbekistan and rufat mamedov of Ukraine interesting fight between these two uh athletes and as you can see see with a

Golden backpatch Shy of is the current par Olympic champion and they have met each other before so uh I’m really curious to see what’s going to happen here nice light left side at technique uchimata coming from side off so I think I mentioned before in the last contest of mov he is struggling

Sometimes to keep on to the grips so let’s see if he practice that so almost making good use of the movement of mov trying to come up with a low son the winner on mat in the white Jud representing and here another left sided first uchimata then trying to go over

And transition make the transition toi oari nicely done by sov he looks really calm and collected today almost throwing over here and a right side mov coming in with a good right side at uchimata so they both have great techniques good footwork both of them and also they have big hip throws this

Time uh mov almost giving a huge opportunity to S off just going over the body like over the back of s that’s not the smartest things to do and again and now there’s a good grip for a side off I think not throwing over M but looking strong during this

Contest so in this case you see that they string too much to get to a kumat and to a grip they’re complaining and then the referee will just pick first the white J one and the white Jud to pick up their grip ooh that was really nicely done

Just uh there was a stop in there so no score for sidu but really well done by him just kept turning and it gave some trouble to mov so some really tough battles going on also a 2 minute 27 seconds into the golden score met number two in the semi-finals in the

57 good work piece of asasa from sov but then the right side it’s uh uchimata from mov just losing the grip not the best grip but um it’s another attempt In the winner right sided attack coming from mamedov a low technique just not being very effective I think it’s sometimes soov can look um like he’s taking some time but he’s so controlled so he knows exactly what he’s doing he’s taking some time to come

Up with an attack now he got a good attack in left side of uchimata and you see with the other ones mov can look so dangerous with many of those techniques different techniques but then against sov his suddenly his attacks don’t look so effective and that has all to do with

The with the quality of sof Of [Applause] oo mov now throwing over s of that’s a surprise good reaction coming from from him just making use of uh of this moment and he’s in lead now and that’s going to be an interesting last half of this contest so I think just a perfect timing for mov here but

Uh he is quite Drained [Applause] so they took off the bazari score maybe it was the attack of s of in the end so not enough control or not enough attack ging coming from mamed off so he was just uh maybe under the impression that he wasn’t lead but uh they just took that Off so it’s such an interesting battle for me these two both have really high quality Judo good attacks good techniques so now a right s side at action from sov I don’t think he had enough movement going on there to really be [Applause] effective so mat number two hos of Japan just secured her spot in the final here today winner on in the white Jud are representing Japan USA [Applause] Yo and here there’s still no scores but another good attempt coming from sof he just looks a little bit stronger during this contest but it’s not a big difference and you could see before that it can change so quickly he just need one good attempt one good attack to take

The win so it could really go either way Ed and thees another left sided seag followed up by tumon nag from sov just looks a bit more active as well so it’s a second penalty for paity for mov and I think that tells you the balance of this contest s of no shidos

On the board and mov uh well he should get a second one here the winner on mat one in the white Jun representing India capil Obama [Applause] now that’s a really beautiful Tech from s of just throwing over mamed with a sacrifice technique here kg category in the white Judo G

Represented the Islamic Republic of Iran and although it’s just the wasi score in the last few seconds of this contest for me except for that one time he wasn’t really in danger during this contest so he looks so in control and it it’s not easy but he looks like he’s really uh

Reading his opponent so well and um we’re going to see him in the final here today the winner mat in the representing so really nicely done by ferus sov he looks uh in top shape here today but there’s another guy looking pretty good here today and that is Seto

Jujiro of Japan and he is wearing the white J here and then to mention another one that I’m really impressed with today OAS bis of Lithuania in J they are both really beating good opponents so setto beat Rosa of Brazil cornas of Germany were really uh good good opponents and then bis already

Beat uh Kur bayv the par Olympic champion and Kalani the European Champion so I don’t think uh that’s nothing that’s really good work from both of these athletes so let’s see who will take a win here nice right sided morot from satto but almost uh being taken over by Baris but he kept

Going really well here [Applause] Spee another beautiful right side at morot he’s doing what he does best all day and uh didn’t I don’t think he almost broke a sweat here today setto Judo beautifully done and I’m really looking forward to this the win in the representing Japan such a good athlete we have two more repit charge

Contests uh here to bring to you at least for this category it’s in the under 73 J2 category competing on map three the men’s J2 under 73 kilo category in the white Jun representing the Republic of Korea so first contest here in the rep charge is Kim dongon of Republic of

Korea and he is Facing miles Solomon of Great Britain so I enjoyed watching Solomon a lot today and uh he keep surprising me and let’s see what he can do against ke who is also uh a really good athlete so now he’s working on the arm so Solomon starting off with a tag and

Then taking over on the ground now he gets some more time from the referee this is what I spoke about before as long as there is enough progress which is not the case now anymore but you can take the time as an athlete you can really take your time to

Build on each step of the technique so Solomon is looking uh strong here in this uh contest and Kim is taking a little bit more time to get to a good technique really are right against right that was a good attempt coming from Kim just underneath and now in the other

Way Direction so he can go both right and left and that’s such a big benefit as an athlete if you can score either in ref left side or right side and and it gives uh the first Shido to uh solom man so it’s another uh sacrifice technique coming from Solomon just not

Being very effective but it again can give him some time to work in naaza right side of makikomi coming from Solomon but I think Kim is doing a really well job in keeping moving around so with that right arm on the lapel he’s disturbing his opponent and uh really

Pushing in the pace there and uh you see the coach on the side shouting exactly those uh things to I think to his uh Athlete on Left sided low son coming from Kim so solom man is good in blocking those but he needs a little bit extra to come up with his own

Techniques and in the BL J representing te so here is a good position for Soloman he needs to try to stretch the body just uh wasn’t enough progress for the referee so uh he stops the contest and bring them both to the middle of the mat [Applause] spe

Really nicely done right side at uh o igari and that was actually really close to a score there sure they are checking that from the side if not enough of the body of uh Kim lanet on the side in 90° angle I think uh that could be the case here

So they checked it and apparently it was just not enough for a wazari score but really nicely done and they are going to check it and I’m not surprised at all so for me that was a really nice uh piece of action and just uh I’m not sure

If that was enough or a score it was just on the border of a score probably spe so really curious to see what they decide because it uh will have a big impact on this contest either it’s going to stay a no score for each on the board

Right now or it’s going to give a benefit to uh solom man you can see that the the referees are discussing at the side because uh they really struggle to see if it was a score or not so either decision is uh yeah is it it is always difficult

Because you have somewhere you have the border of not being a score or being a score and of course that is sometimes really hard to decide Islamic Republic of Iran competing on mat one in the men’s J1 under 6 so they are sure taking their time and

It’s uh keeping it exciting but these athletes they have to stay sharp here and apparently they decided that it’s no score but uh solom man knows that he must have been really close here and this time a really nice right side at Moro seag and it gives the first

Score to Kim Dong hun actually so solom man being so close but um it’s a Keem that has a score on the board now and it’s only one minute and two seconds left on the board So it’s the last minute of the contest things are looking good for Kim Dong hun to continue his route to the bronze medal [Applause] here nice right side at uh also toari and it’s another attempt coming from Soloman he’s trying everything uh to get a score on the board but uh no

Success yet for him yet for him Yet o that was looking quite dangerous there for Kim so a really good attempt from Soloman so things are really not over it’s only two 22 seconds Left so Soloman trying to push it here but he’s not giving himself uh a good position here 11 seconds left on the [Applause] clock and another left seag attempt from Kim and now it’s only six seconds left so there’s just a chance of one good attack for Soloman but it’s going to be

Hard against Kim because he’s also going to try to [Applause] attack so that’s it good win for Kim dunun I’m going to take a really short break but you can continue watching the contest between Nikolai cornas and Par Olympic champion usun kuray of usbekistan k in on you wiy WI UK and wines

M the winner repres brail s representing japu the winner repr and in the repres indes the winner on in the representing her repr bra the winner ofch three representing Indonesia repr for for we’re going to take a look at Mat number one where we just saw current world

Champion via of Portugal win his contest so he will go through to the semifinal K in the representing Brazil and in the blue Judo game representing Great Britain Darren Harris and now we’re going to watch the last quarterfinal of this weight category between el Elon the oliviera of Brazil in white

Ji and Darren Harris of Great Britain in blue the winner on matu in the blue Judo G representing Brazil Luchia arjo and the winner on MCH three in the blue Judo ging representing Japan anj shizuka so good opening from the oliviera with his first attempt in now a second

Attempt and it’s a beautiful sacrifice technique to monag and uh throwing over Darren Harris here good win for the oliviera the winner on mat one wearing the white Judo representing Brazil Al ola so a really strong and good win for Elon de oliviera and he will be facing

Miguel via of uh Portugal in the next round and that will be the semi-finals and um we’re going to see the rapit charge contest here so with that said we’re going to take a look at Mat number two because uh the semifinals of the under 73 J1 category are taking place

Here moved from one in the J1 under 60 kg category in the white Judo game representing India so bologa doing really well here trying to strangle down yaffa and I think that’s completely under the chin so let’s see if yafa can hold on to that and not be able to tap

Out so it is another win under the belt of Bola so really quick work for him here and um I I think I mentioned it this morning that he started off quite slow looking uh not uh his best self but it’s has to do with the pressure with the nerves and

You see him growing into the tournament and you see now he’s really in a in a good form and uh beating his opponent in the opening seconds of this contest the only one I think that I’m really missing here uh in this later fights of the contest competition is dongdong

Kamani of Italy so he lost out to uh coach yafu who’s also a really good athlete but still he uh was the number four seed so I would have expected him to uh well to uh reach at least uh the quarterfinals here today competing on Mat 2 in the men’s J1

Under 73 kilo category in the white Judo G representing Kazakhstan Yi shame and in the blue Judo G representing Germany Lenard s so there’s two really good contests going on and um I’ll explain you that in a bit but uh first of all we’re going to focus on the semi-final of the 73

Kilogram J1 athletes between Yi shame of Kazakhstan and Leonard SAS of Germany so these two athletes they do know each other it’s actually a repetition of the world final of two years ago or I must say as uh yeah two years ago back in 2022 and shami there became world

Champion and uh Leonard sus is still developing as an athlete already has great results two World medals but heu doing really well during those competitions the and for him it would also always uh be great to uh fight for his family that are probably watching here in the audience to uh

Reach a final spot here today to the r competing on mat one in the men’s J one under 60 kilo category in the white Junior game representing Italy Valerio acia Fe and in the blue Jun representing Algeria ABD so a good right-handed grip from Leonard sus looking quite threatening and almost pushing over

Shamah it’s not really a big technique but uh moving him into the right direction [Applause] ction [Applause] so uh I think SAS took a right decision there to go to the ground because he was not having the best grip there so that would uh would have been

Quite dangerous he picks up aido for it but uh in some cases it’s better to pick up the Shido than uh being in risk of uh thrown over by a nipon nice attempt coming from sus sus is moving both right and left-handed and that’s nice to see

So sham is normally really one of the stronger athletes also looking a bit static but if he comes up with a technique it’s always a very strong [Applause] one right sided makikomi from sasi just wasn’t controlling the right arm of shami enough [Applause] [Applause] the winner on Match one in the blue Jud

Representing Algeria so the final block was going to take place at 300 p.m. today obviously that’s going to be a bit later so we have uh well maximum I think four qus left on uh on the mat maybe a little bit more and then after uh we finish the

Morning blog we’re going to take a quick break prepare everything for the final block and then uh get on the way wow beautifully uh Left sided uh uh hip throw from shame just not enough leverage on the arm to really throw over SAS but uh good work for

Him I’m actually almost tempted to go to another mat but uh I think we are already in this semi-final that’s been really good so we’re going to stick to this mat but um just to inform you on mat number three there’s also really good fight going on between Kil parar of

India and babam abadi of uh of [Applause] aren whoa what a result for Leonard SAS throwing over uh a slight favorite here I think uh yil shame and the crowd is on their feet what a result for him and we’re going to see a dream final here between Alex bologa and Leonard

S and if there’s a moment to beat bologa I think it’s today it’s uh he does have chances against uh in him just fighting before his home crowd but what a what a performance already beating all of his opponents today the representing the people’s republ and with that said we’re going to

Quickly go to uh mat number three competing on matu in mj1 under 73 so in white Jud here is Kapil parar of India he’s the number one seeder today winning uh good medals in the in the last competitions and he’s facing say mam bunny t koram abadi of Islamic Republic of

Iran and uh Baba is a former world champion so they’re both uh really top contenders for the goal today here you could see a hint of the right side it’s O toari of parar some piece of ashua [Applause] So good uh fighting from uh parar how are you doing so no scores yet on the board but um I think uh parar is looking quite strong here although bunny taba does have something up a sleeve as you can see here Left sided sonag scoring a first

Bosari they might take a look if that was a real Oari so they are taking another look and they decided that the buari stays on so although Parmer looks uh a bit stronger during this competition or the contest it’s bunny taba that’s leading he is picking up a Shido here for uh not taking uh his kumata or disturbing the other one too

Much so in the past you would see that happening a lot more so the fight of the kumata was really happening before the aim and they are much better with that now for me actually bunny taba with his left hand is really pushing away parar oh and parar now really getting

Close to a score so barmar for me is the one that’s looks stronger but uh in the end it’s all about who’s leading and it’s bunny taba and I’m really curious to see if uh it’s still going to make a difference here and that’s how it can go it’s incredible

So parar Al looking stronger Bon taba just showed more Judo skill and uh defeating his opponent just now really well done and we’re going to see bun taba back in the final in the representing the Islam repic of Iran but it shows some something about the growth of barar because a few years

Ago he was nowhere to be seen he picked up a first Grand Prix medal uh not not that long ago but now uh he is uh today already the number one seed he is a bronze medalist of the World Championships so he really made a name

For himself it just has to settle for a bronze medal match here today competing on three in the men’s J so here another semifinal in this weight category between Miguel Vieira the current world champion of Portugal and uh he will be facing Elon the oliviera of Brazil and he’s wearing the blue Judi

Here it’s not going to be an easy contest so first attempt coming from the oliviera need for So attempt for left side at seag but uh really well pushed back by Migo so there is a bazari on the board now and by this just this pushing back you can see that uh actually Vieira is also one of the strongest athlete in this category yeah I was thinking like they

Should get that waser off because that was not really in a technique of via that was just really pushing back your opponent so the rule of thump here is if you cannot really name the technique it’s not going to be a score Soier trying to control his opponent and the oliviera coming in with a with a good attempt not sure why it was a mate so quickly so that’s why that was a m so the referee decided to give a penalty for paity to the vi to and I think

That’s correct most of attacks have been coming from the oliviera the winner on Matt one in the blue Judo G representing the People’s Republic of China o that looks interesting by the oliviera trying to strangle his opponent and we cannot really tell from here if it’s on there that is always uh that’s tricky even for a referee because as soon as the lapel is on the chin he needs to call him immediate mate but you cannot

Always see that so it’s another attempt coming from Olivier I think he has a good tactic during this contest like keep going keep piling up the attacks and uh VI is is struggling here so it’s one and a half minute in uh to this contest and I think one of the

Reasons that we’re still competing let’s say in a morning block uh and it’s already past three is because all these contests are so tight so they’re so evenly matched so you don’t see many ions here today and it’s not because it’s not enough quality because there’s so much

Quality so they’re really evenly matched and they’re really struggling with each other spe so with only one minute left uh Miguel Vieira is just picking up his second Shido and um I think that’s just because the oliviera has such a strong tactics during this contest he’s keeping the Pace High keeps

Attacking and uh vi just cannot really keep up with that pace and now even he’s behind with a score because it was a beautiful uchimata from the oliviera just scoring a first bazari and now it’s going to look really difficult for Via so only 35 seconds left for him to

Come back and uh it will be a really great result for Elon Oliva on mat one the winner in the representing U Henry so via is trying everything to uh really do something with oliviera but now he’s actually in hold down so Olivier just needs to take take

On for 10 seconds and then also the time is taking away in a whole Contest time competing on in under 60 kilo category in the white Jud representing Ukraine so the Olivier beating VI actually once uh again because uh they were facing each other before and the

Oliviera is securing his spot in the final really well done by uh the Olivier in the e e he e he for for for for for for winner m so I’m welcoming Stephanie trle here how are you doing hi I’m I’m good how are

You and can you tell a little bit of why you here in Germany because we’ve SE let me explain we’ve seen you around in the world tour uh some years ago you just told me you quit in 2018 yeah ex said and you had a really good career and uh

We haven’t seen you for a few years and now you’re here how yeah I’m back um so actually Prisa gang’s coach andrees reached out to me and he was looking for a training partner for uh Priscilla until the games and at the games um so yeah they took me out of

Retirement that’s really that’s crazy yeah and uh you didn’t have to think about it I think about it a little bit but um I’m really glad I said yes it’s a super cool opportunity to get to know another sphere of Judo that I didn’t know that much about and uh did you know

Anything about uh VI Judo before that or you just was introduced with this a little bit like we we had visually impaired athletes train with us at the National Training Center in Montreal and I I knew Priscilla a little bit we had fought a little bit um but I didn’t know

That much about the rules and the tournament and how the whole circuit works for them I I didn’t know much about that no I can imagine because you’re just focusing also on your own thing right yeah and but uh the athletes train together in the same trainings

Yeah Ah that’s really good actually yeah so in the National Training Center in Montreal you said right exactly yeah that’s really nice and since you like when did you start here when I started with Priscilla um in October so we’ll be together for almost a year because it’s until September for

The games in Paris that’s really good and what do you feel about it now how is it going it’s amazing uh I remember in my my last year as an athlete competing I I would like really think like oh this is my last time in this country this is my

Last time traveling here for Judo I recogniz this this is the last time I see all these people in this context and it Felts like really nostalgic like preparing myself to be nostalgic or something um so yeah when I landed in Tokyo I was like wow I can’t believe I’m

Back here for Judo that’s amazing yeah and like to see the same people in the Grand Slam was right before the uh tournament for Vi so I got to see some people compete some of my friends oh that’s great just yeah I had to mention that uh later

On but how is that going because there’s a really big battle in the 57s right yeah very fierce battle yeah can you say anything about it like is there any does anyone know who’s going to be selected or how it’s going to work probably the high performance director kind of

Know but they will decide I I don’t know no I don’t know no yeah I’m I’m not sure how it’s going to all turn out but uh they they they sure put on a really good show until the end for this qualifications and the ones before so

And do you train with the Jessica sometimes or not yeah so that’s the one of the advantage of coming back to to train for Priscilla also so get to um you know fight a little bit like do Ries with my old my former teammates that’s really cool Jess or also Katherine bsh

Of course so all the old crew yeah exactly that’s really cool and and the new ones and the new ones coming up too yeah yeah of course and but uh did talk a little bit about fi like how was your you first was introdu introduced and now you’re starting to training with

Priscilla and uh how does that feel for you is it really different or not that different like the the main difference is that I have to communicate differently with like if I want to give her feedback on a on a technique I can just be like hey just do like this you

Have to to think of like describing things better like really using words and not just showing and then sometimes like know taking her harm and doing it like so it’s a different way to approach learning Jud yeah yeah that’s true it’s actually I think many people forget that

That’s one of the biggest differences so how do people learn right when they’re a kid they learn by watching others and they cannot do that so they have to feel it or they have to be described how to do it it’s it’s really uh I think challenging for these people exactly and

How do you feel like uh with the kumata I actually like it yeah yeah I like to start with a grip and then you just do Judo there’s no no annoying thing about someone blocking your hands and no yeah I think like the good athletes with good technique they say

That because they can get straight into like some good hip throws or some techniques and if you’re the less good technique technical jokai you need to find some kumata or something but yeah blocking trying to get the shidos and and your first competition was in Tokio exactly yeah in December and how was

That experience then besides seeing your friends and being also at the Grand Slam but how what did you feel about the competition the competition was really good prisilla got second lost to the American in the final so it was it was cool to to see her in action yeah uh so

I had been helping her in training but now to actually prepare her for tournament and go through that whole thing yeah that was really cool but it’s actually really very similar to it is right any other tournament I feel the same way like uh of course you have to

Grip before but that’s almost the only difference and obviously they don’t always know where they are because they cannot see it but um yeah I don’t see the a big difference actually it’s getting better and better throughout the years I think yeah the level is really

Strong I was I was actually impressed in Tokyo and I haven’t had the chance to watch that much here yet but I’m sure the level’s quite you will be able to watch something tomorrow right for sure tomorrow yeah yeah so thank you for uh

Be on and uh best of luck for the future tournament so you have this competition and then you go to Turkey we’re to Turkey yeah and then Georgia’s left right maybe Georgia I think it’s not 100% sure yeah okay so and uh tell prisila of course also the best of luck

Yeah I will all right thanks for having me thank you so much thanks for for for for for for spe so there is going to be a short break and uh so a really quick explanation there’s uh just one more repure art contest last in his morning block between Henry borgz

And Darren Harris and that’s going to take place in six minutes or so so we hope to see you then and uh after that there going to be another short break uh before we enter the final block so we have one more fight left in this set preliminaries uh it’s a rapid charge

Contest between Henry borgz of Uruguay and Darren Harris of Great Britain I think Dar Harris is having a good day just lost out uh in the last contest and borgz has always been one of the top contenders in his weight category so borgz only losing out to the world champion

Viira now and Via is also uh left for the rep charge for the bronze medal contest so they Coulda both end up on the podium on the bronze medal so a nice seag coming from B orus so another good drop sonag coming from Henry Borges just a three minutes uh or one

Minute gone and three minutes left on the clock your so Harris would need to come up with some uh technique soon he’s moving around his opponent but he’s not getting into a good attack yet that’s another uh attack coming from Borges so Harris uh putting the pressure on borgz but I

Think borgz is looking in control so here’s the first attempt coming from Harris so both have a right uh classic kumata grip and another uh right side at uh morota son from borgz I think if it just can get a little bit more of reaction

Out of Harris it uh might be a bit more dangerous then so up until now have to contest time gone and uh no scores on the board and it’s just the first cheet on the board here for Harris and I think that perfectly tells you about the balance in this contest for e

Up That’s it and uh it just took him a while to get to a perfect uh technique and with 1 minute and 10 seconds left on the clock he scores another Ione in the this competition today really well done by Henry Borges and we’ll see him later in the

Bronze medal contest and that concludes uh this morning blog or let’s say the preliminaries and we’re going to take a short break and the final block is going to start at uh 4:30 local time here and uh we’re happy to see you back and uh hope to see you soon
