Okay so here goes, I’ve got a very old Costco special supposedly MTB that I have had for a good 30 years if not more. It’s definitely nothing like a real MTB but it does get me from point A to point B and back again.
But the stock Kendas tires were the same age and have never been replaced before. Because of that they started to crack around the edges of the tires and I was starting to get worried. That I would be out riding some 10 miles away from my house and Boom. One of the tires finally gives out and leaves me to walk home dragging my bike with me.
Anyway, now that I have explained my tire situation I pulled the trigger on a pair of. Pararacer Fire XC Pro 26X2.1 tires because of the recommendation of other people and reading the reviews on them.
So, my question to the group is if the Pararacer tires are definitely better than my old Kendas. I mean I know the old Kendas needed to be replaced, but I could have bought another pair of them brand new.
The reason I ask is that when I put the Pararacer tires on the first thing I noticed. Was that even though they are supposedly the same exact size as my old Kendas. I noticed that the Pararacer tires at least to me look like they are not as wide as the old Kendas. Plus at least to me the old Kendas look like they have a more aggressive tire pattern especially on the edges.
I’m going to try and attach a few pictures for the group to compare the tires. Because I would like some of the more knowledgeable and experienced people in the group. Let me know what they think of my decision to get the Pararacer over some new Kendas.
