    Looking for an affordable bottom bracket bearing press tool – anybody used one that they can recommend? The Park Tool one is way too expensive. Looking at the one pictured….Anybody?

      Are you starting a bike shop? If not, put the bearing on the bb, put a piece of wood on top, and hit it with a hammer.

      You can make one fairly easily with a long threaded bolt (long enough to go through the bottom bracket with the bearings not all the way in, prob like 7″+), two washers that cover your bearings, and a nut to bring it together. If it doesn’t make sense I can send you a picture of what I did, it’s a lot easier than slapping it with a piece of wood

      I built one, just get a couple stacks of large washers the size of the bearings with some threaded rod and a couple nuts. Cost me under $10 at the hardware store.

      But seeing the simplicity of the tool you could easily make one yourself!

      I’ve bought this set from aliexpress for about €40 after a few people recommended it in some mountainbike group. Havent used it yet but the quality seems decent.

      You can DIY one for literally $6-$7 dollars at hardware store. Some threaded rod, washers, and nuts to tighten. I did this last year and the install on was a breeze.

      I work as a mechanic and I have that same set and was pretty impressed with the quality, especially for home use.
