Working on a 2017 Santa Cruz Bronson frame build. Been sniffing around for an older Fox factory rear shock and to my delight found an old stock new Fox DPX2 from a retailer; it matched the 7.875×2.25 measurement for the frame, and said nothing of any usual mounting type.
It arrived and it has these extra long mounting bearings on the end. See pic vs my old rockshox monarch.
Do these come off or have I bought the wrong shock/should bike retailer have declared this mounting type?

There should be different types of bearings and mounting hardware for this shock. They are removable.
A top picture from the non-piggyback side may be helpful. But if it has the same “tube” look *without* threads it should be able to be configured for your frame. If they are threaded and somehow part of the shell ypu got yourself a Trunnion mount shock which the frame needs to be build around.
Those bushings press out. Assuming the outer and inner diameters are the same, you can press the bushings out of your old shock, and then press them in to the new one. Depending on the condition of the old one, you may want a new set as the O-ring seals and crush washers from the old one might be toast… hard to tell from your photos.
If they are not the same diameters, you should be able to find the shock mount specs through a google search of your frames model and year, or by contacting the manufacturer or local dealer. Many brands list these details in the bikes user manual, but sometimes you have to do some digging as OEMs don’t always make it easy to find.
