Hi everyone! I’d been looking for a Miyata 1000 for quite awhile and finally stumbled upon this 1989 garage queen. The frame was in great shape but it needed some TLC, so I went with a few more modern components. New wheels, tires, saddle, post, rear derailleur, chain, bottle cages, pedals, stem, bar, tape, brifter conversion…you name it! I took it out for a quick 15-miler today to try it out for the first time, and it rides great!
I’d love to hear what people think of the look of it. I know modernizing it may be a bit controversial, and the blue Brooks saddle and tape are a tad loud, but I think they go well with the 80s-era decals.
