Hi everyone,
since nearly 3 months I am constantly looking at bikes trying to find a new one that suits my needs. My wife is already totally annoyed by that so I thought of maybe giving this here a try.
My old bikes are normally broken after 4 or 5 years, so I wanted to have a steel-frame this time.
Here are my requirements:
– steel frame – flatbar (since I really do not like undergrip-tried it several times) – tires 700 – everyday/-thing bike for commuting, grocery (with thule), joy-ride to nearby lakes, some hilly roads, gravel and sometimes hill climbs (living in the alps here)
So far this is my list:
1. [Genesis Croix de fer 20 flatbar](https://www.simplebikestore.eu/de/genesis-croix-de-fer-20-flat-bar.html?id=224751558&quantity=1) – does anyone have experience with genesis? it looks pretty decent with overall shimano parts, the wheels seem to be not highend, but other than that a really nice bike imo (around 1.500€)
2. [Cinelli Gazetta della Strada](https://bike-mailorder.de/cinelli-gazzetta-della-strada-alivio-sea-blue) – I like the geometry and the front rack, I think Cinelli is a bike company with a lot of history (what I hope to be a good sign), the parts of this bike seem to be a bit cheap tbh (around 1.300€)
3. [Bombtrack arise geared](https://www.bike-mailorder.de/bombtrack-arise-geared-metallic-black?number=B21010002.3&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAlcyuBhBnEiwAOGZ2SzwBQzGkfd77QHVLIX_W8JcwgRgibkCDrni7P8m4T2xbFgtRQsMjKhoCFXIQAvD_BwE) – I like of course the looks as well and the front rack, 9 gears actually is enough (the lesser the better for maintanance i guess), does anyone have experience with bombtrack? (around €1.600)
I looked as well at the Temple Classic Lightweight and the Pelago Element, but both come only in 3 sizes and I think they do not perfectly fit my size. (I compared them with my old bikes on gemeotrygeeks) ( I do not like the Rose Hobo because it has no steel fork, the front rack only for 5kg(?))
Help, thoughts or advice deeply appreciated 😀
