We arrived at Saint-Denis airport. We came early because we had two buses to catch to get there. Then we had breakfast before boarding the plane. While my husband was looking for a cable for these headphones, I looked at local products that I hadn’t tried yet.

When I return I would like to take these candies and a jar of pink berries. A photo to immortalize our first trip without our daughters in over 7 years. I was a little anxious because I didn’t have time to prepare for this trip and I didn’t have any reservations made.

This is how we board as a couple without children for a 12-hour flight. Cuckoo ! The landscape is so beautiful that I looked out the window for a long time. You would think I was a first time traveler.

The shades of blue painted on the wing of the plane are identical to that of the ocean. A snack was served shortly after takeoff. Since I had just had breakfast, I wasn’t very hungry. Due to numerous disruptions, our journey to Paris is estimated at more than 12 hours of flight.

These long hours of flight will allow me to start editing the next video. Lunch consists of yellow rice prepared with pieces of chicken. I was amazed by these landscapes of arid lands. The flight was so long that it seemed to last two days : ) I was looking forward to the landing.

When we arrived, it was -2°C…thermal shock guaranteed. We rented a vehicle for the duration of our stay. The journey from Paris to La Rochelle will last approximately 4 hours. There was a lot of fog on the road, we had to drive carefully. We arrived at the Best Western Premier Masqhotel.

A city hotel, with distant evocations: soft colors, noble materials, antique objects… an invitation to travel. Zen ambient music and a scent conducive to rest and relaxation. We were greeted with a “welcome” card and two caramel candies. After such long hours of flying, I needed to refresh myself.

A hot shower in winter is comforting. My facial routine tonight will be kept to a bare minimum. I start by cleansing my skin with micellar water and a radiance concentrate from Caudalie. Then I apply moisturizer and lip balm. After reading and drinking herbal tea, I fell asleep quickly.

This morning, I got up early, due to jet lag, as I wasn’t hungry, I went for a walk in Charruyer Park, a unique place to walk and relax for all nature lovers. I stayed a moment to observe the ducks and swans.

This island of greenery is located a stone’s throw from the city center. Everything was so beautiful that I took lots of photos and videos. The sound of enthusiastic wildlife echoing in the silence is also calming. No. 1: Try the wings… check No. 2: Try the tail… check Ready for takeoff…

Conclusive test!!! : ) Continuing my walk towards the South, I reached the Charles-Edouard Beltremieux animal park which extends over an area of 4 hectares. I remember introducing these animals to the girls who were amazed. This calm, silvery landscape makes me feel like I’m in a novel. I really enjoyed this moment of relaxation.

Our bedroom window overlooks the station clock and the city center Ferris wheel. After a morning walk, we had breakfast in our room. As the stay was not planned, we will visit La Rochelle as we wish. Traveling without a schedule allows me to be more flexible and take into account my current physical state.

This trip was thought of as an invitation to take a break. I came to visit the city center of La Rochelle, without knowing that a flea market was held there. I decided to take a closer look. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I lived during that time.

There were some lovely vintage cards. Then my eye was drawn to old-fashioned cameras. I didn’t dare touch anything, for fear of damaging the objects but also because my hands were very cold. I didn’t come to buy so I headed towards the city’s old port.

I noticed that many people were cycling despite the freezing temperature. The infrastructure here encourages cycling and walking. Bikes of different shapes and sizes. I recently read that the city of La Rochelle was ranked the fifth best city to live in France,

Particularly for the calm of the city, access to the ocean and good air quality. La Rochelle red lighthouse located at the foot of the Saint-Nicolas tower. The red and white lighthouse (Gabut) and the green and white lighthouse (from Quai Valin) are in precise alignment, to guide boats entering the old port.

Then I climbed one of the Towers to admire the breathtaking view of the city. I also saw sea buses. You can even board with your bike! These boats are silent and non-polluting thanks to their electro-solar technology. I thought these people had the best view in the place.

But looking closely, all the squares were beautiful, each with different views. Is this a sign for our next trip!!! Russian ship “Shtandart” On the way back, before hitting the road again, I stopped at Concurrence beach, one of the most popular in La Rochelle.

Just to look at the sea, the sand and the shells. Traveling means learning to appreciate the little everyday things that seemed trivial to us. It’s living in the present moment and savoring every moment of it. We visited La Rochelle but I would also heartily recommend visiting the Ile de Ré.

This is how our stay in La Rochelle ends. See you soon for the second stage of our trip.
