It’s a German mixte frame from the mid eighties, was supposedly a mid tier frame, alloy is Mannesmann CroMo tubing.
I Did a complete overhaul and added a bunch of new parts, eg lights, cables, tape, chain, tube, pedals. The rest consists of restored vintage parts, Weinmann brake levers, SunTour bar end shifters, 7 speed STX derailleur, Cantilever brakes and properly set up fenders.
The custom front rack with basket surely is the major feature of this ride
All in all I put around 250 € into this bike, and of course countless hours of building it up, which is obviously fine because there lies the fun, and I am no professional. What is a reasonable price to ask for this city mixte racer?
If you need further information, I can give you what I have. I have also found a catalogue that lists the frame that I have here. It sold for around 650 DM in 1986ish, which makes me believe that it is not half bad.
Thank you for your opinion 🙂

I’d say that the supermarket basket is the only blemish. Love those brakes! Treat it to a woven basket or a leather handlebar bag? Somewhere in the whole wide world there’s someone with €2.000 who’d adore it, but “she probably lives in Tahiti”!
Oops, missing crank ring bolt. But love the build.
Steel rims mark it as low quality (and break dangerously bad when wet). I would find a new used wheelset or just change the rims. In Germany, it critically depends on the area. In Berlin you might be lucky and sell it for 600€. In rural areas you won’t get 200€.

Seems like it was a fun project. I cannot help with German market pricing. During the pandemic, in the US, used bike prices became silly high but they are now down to earth at least in my area.
Question about the lights. I was looking for the hub Dynamo but saw it relies on an “old style” tire Dynamo in the back. Is that a recent construction generator, and how well does it perform? My only experience is with the very weak dynamo lights on bikes from 50 years ago.
Its not really the price, but the layout of the bike that might make it hard to sell well.
Bikes that have a dynamo and those retro lights are really unpractical imo and the front and back luggage rack limit your customer base to old people or someone that doesnt care at all about weight or noise when driving. And then for them, the brooks saddle might be a bit too uncomfortable.
It is a beautiful bike, but not that desirable. You might be able to ask 500€ in a big city and much less in rural areas. With better wheels, better lights and less weight it might be much more.
Edit: on further inspection, you might also need to redo the bartape, but this could also be due to the perspective of the photo
