Just converted my old 3×8 to 1×11 and followed the spacer recommendations for bottom bracket per shimano BB MT-501 for a 73mm BB Shell. This is one 2.5mm spacer on drive side but this is what chain looks like on biggest gear(50t). Is this normal? Never had a 1x bike before. Everything shifts fine but there is a considerable amount of noise from chainring rubbing chain in the granny gear.

Took more measurements
Rear axle spacing is 135mm QR

In the current set up you see the chain ring has a approx 52mm chain line

Crankset is FC-U6000-1 32T

Thanks

  1. I have a 1×12 on my Canyon, it looks very similar. I have not had any chain retention issues. Also keep in mind that a vast majority of your riding will be in the higher gears, so this level of deflection will rarely occur.
