A few days ago, I started to have problems with this piece on the rear tire. At first, I thought it was just the chain being out of place and was just a matter of putting it back together. However, whet I tried to go out today, the pedals were loose, and I couldn’t go anywhere. I proceeded to take out the rear wheel to see what was wrong, but I did the piece just came off. I enjoy going out on my bike, so having to deal with this really made me angry. Now I’m just frustrated, because I don’t know what to do.
What exactly is this piece? Can I even fix this, and if so, how do I proceed?

That is part of a freewheel. Looks like the cone came loose and the ball bearings fell off.
To fix this, replace the freewheel. You need the correct tool to remove what is left stuck on the hub and install the new part.
You need to replace the freewheel. A Shimano or Sunrace 6 speed 14-28 freewheel will be a good quality replacement.
Here is a guide on how to replace the freewheel.

You could use this method since the freewheel has disassembled itself
