I just purchased a DTC bike and noticed it is missing a piece between the crank and bottom bracket (blue bike) compared to my other bike (red bike)
Does this look off to anyone else or is this normal?

No, not missing anything. Both are the way they should be. Those are 2 different styles of cranks/bottom brackets.
