The Orange Ride was part of the Beograd Velograd Festival, organised by a Dutch living in Belgrade (Ralph) and supported by the Dutch embassy in Serbia. If there was any mistery to the colour. 😉
Unfortunately, the ride itself was quite a short one, much shorter than planned, due to some issues with the police or the city or whatever. Still, I think the Beograd Velograd Festival was very important, filled with interesting and useful workshops and events, bringing the entire cycling community together. And we also got the chance to give some.. feedback to representatives of Secretariat of Transport which is in charge of cycling infrastructure and its development. Though, some would say they are responsible for the lack of it. 😉
I also think it was important for us to hear experiences from other countries, especially the Netherlands, and how they had to fight for their own cycling development. Quite motivational and helpful. Looking forward to Beograd Velograd 2014 and, presumably, another Orange Ride.
