Looking for my first road bike for exercise as well as a doing a couple triathlons. Owners asking for $1600 Canadian. I was thinking of offering $800-$900. Would prefer disk brakes but most bikes on marketplace are asking $2000 plus for anything new enough to have them.

Price is way too high. Even $800 is too high. That bike is using an old 5800 groupset which will be at least 8 years old. Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels are pretty low end alloy wheels and actually quite heavy. It is an alloy frame too. More like $500 at best.
If you want a power meter worth it
For 1k Canadian I’d say that’s a solid deal. Rim brakes still work just as well as they did years ago, so pretty well. Components are solid and should last and work well.
The only thing that feels off to me is the frame size. Just by looks id have guessed it as a S. It might just be the camera angle or I’m just wrong. Looking at pictures online its entirely possible that’s a possibility too.
I think as a bike ride you won’t go wrong with the components. Prices have dropped significantly on rim brake bikes and used bikes as a whole the last year. This model looks a little older with external cabling and rim brakes. Not really a negative and actually easier to maintain if you ask a bike mechanic. That power meter is probably a $200 value used. Honestly if you can talk them down to half you’d have a killer bike. If it was me id maybe shop around.
