Easy Shot really okay I want to talk about he’s got a practice table what I want to talk about playing on for Snookers because they’re two very well-known players uh sha Murphy and and Steven Hendry The Legend um has has spoken about their dislike the disdain for players playing on for Snookers when

It’s mathematically impossible well well then we miss out on things like Jimmy White’s first ranking event win against cliff thorburn and E snooker with pink and black left he won Nigel Bond did the same against John Higgins in the British Open way back when the same thing and and so I know I

Look let me give you an example of why this would be silly if you think about it say you’ve got six Reds left and you’re 64 in front do you go red up for green or brown and you po green or brown and we say all right that’s enough of

That frame let’s go on with the next one it would actually be really silly if you think about it properly I think it’ be silly the fact that we would have missed out on that drama today what’s your take on it Ronnie I think you should bring a

Rule out where you get rid of boring snooker players that’s probably a better rule go for snooker is going to be fun boring snooker players that just drag the game out I mean get rid of them find them do something make them play snooker instead of just dra draining the life

Out of everybody how often have you played on for three Snookers I don’t n not not my thing Snookers ra get with the next frame but you talk about MF but I think the game needs to be entertaining at the end of the day get someone getting Snookers can

Be entertaining but we saw today was ENT boring players that play horrible ugly snooker was that not entertaining this afternoon for the crowd and all of us yeah no but they’re good players that’s what I’m saying they’re proper players so I can watch that all day long

I ain’t got a problem with that it’s when you get like really negative players just sort of like it’s like hard to watch I think that’s that’s a more important thing to get rid of than than people playing for Snookers I think we’re we’re talking about something

That’s not really important it’s the way the game’s played that should be okay you know more call snooker at the end of the day yeah yeah I mean when a player needs one snooker he’s he’s legitimate to be able to try and get the four-point

Penalty and it happens a lot you know I I get Ron’s Point yes I I think shot clocks and all that that would be difficult to introduce but there are players who go overboard with the time they take on average shot times but H you know that’s something another

Argument obviously you like a shot clock no I don’t think you need a shot clock I just encourage people to play snooker properly instead of like watching a lot of these players I see it’s just they’re just painful to watch I think like just I don’t know everyone has their style

Though yeah but there’s winning style I mean play play a winning game if you play like that you can’t win what’s the point you might as well try and play the game like go and watch stepen Henry videos and just try and emulate that to

Know if we’ve opened to big can of worms again here yeah we might as well that stuff we might as get down and nitty gr gritty and get honest for a change uh who’s going to win this match John inin hi I’m R Sullivan and welcome to

  1. The way to do it is to say for every 30 shots you get 12 minutes 30 seconds – so averaging 25 seconds a shot, if you go over that time you concede the frame.
Peter Ebdon would lose every frame !
You could also make it so that if it's more than 12 points for snookers the frame is automatically over.
This is not hard to fix, it's so obvious.

  2. I love how Selby always use the same reasons to defend his playing style. And how his fans always use the idea of "nothing's wrong doing anything to win". It's like saying in ages of conflict, some generals would do anything to win, including dirty tactics like poisoning the enemies, cut off enemies supplies and starve them to death. Of course there's nothing wrong with that, but when we look back in history, we only remember the true heros that won battles facing the enemies head on, as for those generals who utilitze dirty tactics, regardless of the outcomes they will forever be remembered as cowards, never a heros. And this is exactly how Selby wants to write his own history.
Selby also loves to say how hard life was in his past. Well, everyone's life is hard, and a lot of players lives are much much harder than his, you don't see all of them playing negative snooker do you? So what explains that? Just his own excuses.
A very selfish act is exactly this, he doesn't think his own actions would change much about the game and snooker's future, but if everyone played like Selby, snooker will have no future. This is exactly the definition of selfish to the max – when you know your actions if adopted by a group of people collectively will have detrimental effects, but you think you are the only one smart enough to act dirty and sneak by, while assuming everyone else will do good and not notice what you are doing. Just like a thief.

  3. Ronnie is bigger than snooker at this point.

They should rename the whole thing 'Ronnyball' and let him run the show. He'd probably do a bang-up job.

  4. I remember watching Terry Griffiths, it was more exciting watching paint dry, maybe a certain time limit between shots would stop these players trying to think a win instead of playing to win 😊

  5. Love it! He's not wrong. He knows when the best era of snooker was and when he shone brightest too, when many others shone bright along side him, a time where many played good attacking high scoring snooker….unlike today sadly. Ronnie is head and shoulders above the rest today and no one is really touching him, unlike days gone by with the likes of Ronnie, Hendry, Higgins, White and so on all playing good attacking snooker that was entertaining…those days are well missed!

Who is to blame for the decline into boring snooker?

  6. Everyone listening to this conversation automatically thinks about Peter Ebdon xD. 100% with Ronnie. BTW. it was gorgeous when he said "Go Watch Setephen Hendry and try to emulate that" <3

  7. The rule should be as follows: If a player that needs 3 or more snookers to win decides to play on, should he happen to lose the frame, his opponent gets awarded 2 frames instead of just the one.

  8. I'd rather watch Peter Ebdon ( Vegan Power!) or classic snooker. I get a bit sick of hearing Ronnie, the same old song, Coughing and not letting people finish a question. That and putting other players down, just gets boring.
