I am upgrading my vintage Specialized Rockhopper to a daily commuter! Currently I have some 26 x 1.35 tires on and I was looking to get some bigger more comfy tires. What tires and what size would you recommend for commuting?
I am looking to get some 26 x 2.00 Shwalbe Marathons but I am wondering if I should get bigger tires, maybe 26 x 2.15, or even wider!?
FYI, I live in Winnipeg where roads can be pretty tough with many potholes and weather can be volatile.
Any recommendations?

I can’t speak to the use in Winnipeg, but I commute on Marathons and they are great. Mostly rain where I am, but the little bit of snow and ice we got didn’t change anything at all.
