when watching this I thought look at those perfectly good roads to cycle on…. then I saw the cycle paths and thought…. WOW, look at those perfectly good cycle paths to cycle on. If only the UK could dream like this!!

If you ever fancy taking a few days to go from Brussels to A'dam I heartily recommend going along the coast – there's a myriad of bike paths through the dunes and the dune slacks, heathland and woods behind them, as well as over some really impressive sea defenses further south in Zeeland. Biked the route three times this year and it is fantastic! Definitely recommend.
The cycle provision is so good – especially on the big bridges!
Great video. In Belgium flanders and the Netherlands there is a great network of cycle trails linked by “knooppunten” for fietsen= bikes. Essentially they are a network of nodes covering the whole country. Each node has a number, you can join the dots/nodes and make a great bike trail from anywhere to anywhere along routes which are mainly dedicated bike paths, trails, and some small bike friendly roads. You can get an app which joins the dots for you, just select the start an end point and the app creates the route. As well as being guided by the app, there are physical signs that guide you to each node. Can link to make a circuit or a long distance bike trail. Not aware of any other place having something similar. I recommend.
