Hi everyone nice cycling is predominantly keeping yourself safe but there’s still an element to good cycling where you’re looking after other people and this is what my viewer does brilliantly with this guy he wasn’t paying attention but my viewer turned it into a Non-event this next clip is from the same viewer but just a little further up the road and we’re going to be watching the guy on the line bike my viewer does a good job of warning but I think the Bell should have been probably a little earlier and maybe consider even using
Your voice this road user in front is obviously not paying attention so do something so they know you’re there am I right to ride past mate the earlier warning may have been a little safer just to try and get the other Riders hands back on the handlebars a little less rushed overall
Though pretty good job perfectly patient lovely this is a clip where my viewer had to look after themselves but they did it simply just by adjusting speed terrible driving but lovely cycling well done appreciating the difficulties of others is always one of the traits of a good road
User there was even a touch of a grateful jog there nice work if buses wish to pull out cyclist should also let them do so it was a nice hold back but a slight movement to the left may have communicated to the bus driver they could go a little sooner it was
Appreciated though another clip featuring a bus I think my viewer does particularly well here because of the low down riding position it was really important that the bus driver was going to see the cyclist before my viewer continued good road users should always be thinking have I been seen poor Road
Users continue into situations just because they have priority even there look at the care that was taken from my viewer to make sure no one was coming the other way before they went round the other bus top draw a perfect example of how to deal with a pedestrian on a shared path who’s
Wearing headphones to be a good Rider you’ve got to be super aware of everything that’s happening around you at all times just like you would do if you were driving but this is a particularly good job I think it’s more dangerous on a cycle
Than if you were in a ton and a half’s worth of metal box my viewer knew that was coming some more good early recognition of maybe I haven’t been seen this time it’s with the van on the left and my viewer is stuck behind the a pillar
Blind spot again they fix it easily just by slowing terrible driving but some expert cycling brilliant some more expert observational skills whilst riding in London there was a lot to watch in this clip [Applause] I mentioned it a little earlier about people plowing on when they think they
Have priority however this situation the road is blocked so the cyclist does not have priority you need to let this vehicle clear and even there there could be a gap for the cyclist to go through but it was a great decision to hold back
This is a learner as well the ride in of my viewer made this nice and calm nice and relaxing and everyone gets going that little bit sooner nice job if you have to ride up the pavement to help an emergency service vehicle out just make sure there’s no pedestrians
That are going to be harmed I think the early slowdown helped the Emergency Services know that the cyclist wasn’t going to be a Problem nice communication people don’t always get things right and especially Learners nice job of accommodating this mistake there’s a big relationship between space and speed and this rider shows some good examples in this 30 second clip for all the motorists cyclists do need much more space than just riding in the left
Gutter this clip’s from Australia and my viewer shows some good common sense not to go down the inside of a vehicle with a left signal on always Safety First and progress second this is a lesson for many it’s nice to see some good skills being taught to the next generation of
Cyclists but remember bikeability training is not just for kids you’d be surprised how much you could pick up and learn give it a try some more good judgment between space and speed but this time with pedestrians about don’t forget some people may be hard of hearing if you use your bell
Just be patient like my viewer before we have a look at this final clip I’d like to say a massive thanks to everyone who sends these clips in they don’t send them in on purpose to feature in a nice cycling episode I just choose to put them in there but I’m a
Strong believer that showing positive cycling Clips like this is a way better tool for learning than showing motorists doing a bad thing and here’s another classic example although I thought my viewer possibly could have overtaken at that point they did the correct thing if they’re not sure and they hold back but
It’s lovely to see this cyclist appreciating what’s best for flow and again I think the cyclist was expecting my viewer to come past you can see that by the stopping of the pedaling and a couple of shoulder glances but now there’s a solid line and a Bend coming
Up the cyclist seems to increase their Pace they’re obviously changing what they’re doing to suit the best flow for everyone I often find myself doing this while I’m out on a bike now there’s straight part coming up let’s see what the cyclist does they slow down and when
They get to under 10 mph is the point where I think my viewers is happy to overtake because it’s then legal roads are there to be shared so let’s share them keep safe everyone I’ll see you soon

I love how dull this is. I find these trivial observations so comforting. Imagine having such a sedate life that these scenarios are noteworthy enough to record or compile and publish. I envy you
The recliner bike clip. It looks like the bike doesn't look like it has a front light. Whilst not always a legal requirement, they do make you more visible especially in gloomy conditions. Not that the car driver is any better illuminated for the condition. This is, of course, in addition to the car driver's poor observation skills or failure to judge the cyclist's closing speed.
The recumbant cyclist was not looking after themselves, cycling in the doorzone of all those parked cars. Seems odd to praise rhem.
“Nice job of accommodating this mistake” one simple statement to explain how to use the road well. Really love these positive videos, showing what to do hopefully encourages more to do similar. Nice job 😊
Thank you for featuring many of my clips in this video. As a Deliveroo cyclist I’m trying to show that we’re not all bad and that we can show good examples of how to ride on the roads and that we’re not all in a rush. I always shake my head at other cyclists that go around with no lights or going through red lights, I even on occasions tell some cyclists that they should get some lights when I see them going around on the roads at nighttime. It gives us good cyclists a bad name.
I wonder if Mr Vine will look at this video and learn something?

I can confirm that lime bike users around here are amongst the worst road users. Too busy looking at their phones than paying attention
The last clip is the exact situation many motorists claim they "hate cyclists" for, because it makes them get to the next red light like 10 seconds later than they would have.
It's not the actual situation that causes the hatred, it's the horrible mentality some people have.
We see in this clip that if you have a good mentality you know to be patient and share the road, and we can see that from cyclists and drivers alike.
If everyone could be a bit more kind, patient and respectful, the roads would be a much more pleasant place to travel.
I thought in these cases the cyclist should try and initiate contact with people and vehicles, claim they are the victim and then post in on Twitter. Just like Jeremy Vine.
1:16 + 1:55 + 5:48 + 6:56 I recognised those streets in Aberystwyth instantly, there is a dilveroo driver who uses a unicycle and you'll see him cycling up the hill to the University, quite a funny surreal sight the first time, I don't envy him.
A little reminder that the clocks go back next weekend. Take time before then to make sure you bike's lights are working, that the reflectors are on it and that your have reflective clothing to wear.
It will be 45 years since a good friend of mine who did not have lights on his bike was knocked off it and killed.
Yes my life carried on but there is still a little bit of sadness.

Personally, I hate bells, dogs get annoyed at them, folk tend to jump when they hear them, and its in the auditory pain threshold for horses, so never use them.
Much preferer the old, 'Hello', and 'coming by'.
Always use calling out and often the horse knows you are there before the rider does. Came across one horse once that didnt, I told the rider your horse is deaf, 2 weeks later same rider, and she stopped me and thanked me, had the horse tested and it was, she didnt even know.

I can’t applaud these videos enough! All those crash videos on YT can get on your nerves, making you feel anxious and as if the whole world is full of enraged & entitled …
These positive attitude videos calm the nerve and show that when you keep your calm it can be smooth sailing for everyone.
And yes, there are still impatient and dangerous drivers out there, but as long as you keep calm and let their actions slip in the safest way, then no horrible dash cam video comes from it.

2:50 Words so true. Giving priority and being courteous is easier than getting into a jam by forcing a way through and hoping for the best. Disappointed in the old woman at 1:30…imo pedestrians should acknowledge any one who stops for them, it’s called manners. 6:35 Perfect…I have no idea why cyclists in some recent clips think it is a good idea to undertake a left signalling car just because they can (according to the HWC and several commenters). Right or wrong..it’s asking to get hurt imo. You wouldn’t do it on a motor bike…right! 7:12 Yep, another oldster ambling across the road oblivious or just rude (and if she was hard of hearing, then all the more reason for her to be road aware huh). I’m 60 now..is this what happens to us in ten years😮. Nice clips well narrated.

Your guy at 1:48 needs to cycle a bit further away from car doors
Looks like the guy on the recumbent is cycling far too close to the parked cars
A couple of examples where other drivers didn’t spot the German recumbent cyclist. I don’t know if he has a tall flag on his bike or not but I do think they make such cycles more visible.
the recumbent bike person should ride more in the middle of the road. they were nearly getting hit by the bushes! not safe with car doors too

People walking around staring at their phone really annoys me. The amount of females on the pavement that I could've walked into is astonishing.
Im guessing you'll have seen a few (and increasing numbers) of the e bikes that can go at +30mph. Illegal obviously.
They really are going to be the cause of some serious accidents
How stupid do you have to be to be looking at your phone while crossing the road?
One thing I noticed with the bell an pedestrians it makes people jump, to the point I'm just creeping cycling close and excusing myself to get past. Even that makes people jump. I'm not approaching fast either, just creeping up barely over walking speed. To me the bell isn't too aggressive sounding either.

Regarding the recumbent at about 1:40, this is a good example of one of the advantages of riding in the middle of the lane, ie to make yourself more visible to people ahead who are only looking for cars.
On our shared paths, I find cyclists come screaming up shouting move followed by them zipping past at 20mph with 15cm between us. This is with me wearing headphones as well.
Nice to see the cyclist stay clear of the road to the right while waiting for the learner to turn round
A bit of mutual courtesy goes a long way.
As this is such a nice, positive discussion forum – I'd like to ask a question. Are there any horse riders here? I'm a cyclist who rides 3-4000 miles a year on country lanes, so I encounter quite a few horses. I've never been really sure what to do when overtaking. I always overtake carefully, steadily and very wide – I'll only pass where there would be plenty of room to pass in a car. However – should I give a warning? Obviously I wouldn't consider using the bell, just as I wouldn't sound the horn in a car – but would riders prefer cyclists to be calling a warning (e.g. "cyclist behind") before passing, or not? Since horses' hearing is keener than humans', I've always assumed that they will have picked up on the small sounds of my approaching bike and won't be surprised by me, so I've always overtaken quietly, but I've had a couple of riders say things like "don't just sneak up on us like that!" as I've gone past. What would riders prefer?

Despite the lies of road raging entitled carbrains in their Deranged Rovers, these clips represent the near totality of cyclists. Car crash videos are selective reporting – the metal box murderers ONLY notice or report clips of cyclists in the wrong, and never post or admit to when metal box murderers endanger cyclists.
