The new carbon t/ 9.8 XT uh we’ve got it in the shop just doing a bit of work on it for the customer and we thought really unique brand new bike why not do a little bit of R of a review on it uh this has got TX High pivot swing arm on
It which allows the rear wheel to travel more backwards and up out of the way when it hits obstacles rather than just going sort of up and down like uh Traditional Swing arms so yeah let’s take a closer look at it and see what we
Can see Okay cool so this new release of the TR slash has got it’s got slacker geometry it’s versatile as hell it’s got adjustment all over the place you can adjust the head tube angle it’s got a lower shock mount that you can switch around it comes mulleted so 29er on the
Front 27 and A2 on the rear but you can mess around with a hbe angle and adjust the essentially adjust the bottom bracket height when you put a 29er on it if that’s the route that you want to go down for your riding so what do all these changes mean for
You in the real world High pivot allows for a rearward axle path which means the bike can track better over rough ground because the rear wheel moves back and up out of the way the idler pulley have been designed for this bike as a way to counteract the chain growth and result
In pedal kick back that you would get from that from the high pivot design another cool feature about the Trex slash is the adjustable head angle by buying different head tube cups you can press these into the frame and achieve a whole degree of head tube angle
Adjustment if you decided to shave off the mullet get rid of the 27 1/2 in wheel on the rear replace it with a 29er you need to buy the separate lower shock mounts which will allow you to lower the bottom bracket height after you’ve put
The 29in wheel on it and this will give you the versatility to switch between a 27 and A2 mullet and a 29er standard setup oh hi there um yeah if you wanted to get Super Rad and put a Kyle shock on this bad boy there’s a little chip down
Here allows you to change the leverage curve and run a coil shock so to summarize what you getting in the TX slash is a tough as Nails hyper adjustable long travel Enduro Beast this bike is for any weekend bike park Warriors or Enduro Racers this bike is not for cross country trail Riders
Unfortunately it’s just not got the right geometry for it it’s not what it was designed for but if you like doing those big drops those big big jumps and ripping through the parks then this is the bike for you the owner of this Bike Dude called John he’s a friend of ours
