My cranks will turn freely until they it to a certain point and then they will get stiff and not want to turn anymore. I’ve tried tightening my cain at the loosest time they can get but they tighten up again, I feel like this is a simple fix and I just can’t seam to figure it out I also can’t find any videos about my problem. If you have any suggestions please comment them below it would be much appreciated homies!

Anyone know what my problem is?

Is the sprocket straight and does it have the spacer for the spindle inside? Is the sprocket bolted tightly to the crankarm?

And is your wheel straight in the dropout?

Lastly you could check if the sprocket is worn down uneven.

    That would be my take..

Take the sprocket off completely. Check it still sits perfectly flat on a perfectly flat surface.

If it does, clean everything up, reassemble, see if it still does it.

Usually this is a sprocket seated off true.

  3. Those cranks look new? If you’ve got new cranks and mounted the old sprocket, it might be that the sprocket hole is larger than your crank spindle and is mounted off-center. This’ll give you a slack and tight chain. A top hat washer fitted in the sprocket hole will fix this . Cheap as chips to but on eBay or pop into your local bmx shop. If you’ve not changed your cranks, it’s summin else. Good luck homey!!
