I bought a new bike a few days ago and was having some real issues coasting, ive follows it down to the rear hub and it’s has a spot in its rotation with enough friction to cause the cassette to spin on its own during coasting. I don’t know what the next steps to resolving this would be, would absolutely love if you guys could advise

If it’s new and you have a problem i would go to the store where you bought it and hear what they have to say. If it’s a cheap bike it might just be a badly manufactured component.
I bent/deformed/grease seal can cause drag once per rotation. I’ve done it by being a little hamfisted in removing the seals to grease the bearings and then noticed it when I put everything back together. If that’s the case carefully re-straightening it should help.
looks like I see the bearing ring from a cartridge bearing on the left side of the thru axel hole. remove the free hub and with remove the bearings. inspect the bearings for damage cartridge bearings are pressed into free hubs.
