Well over 90% of murders are eventually solved but the killing of a school girl in North London has defied detection for a year tonight there’s a chance to prick someone’s conscience someone must be able to fill in the gaps in what detectives know about the life and death of Hannah deto
Mak me weak I get so weak in the knes I can speak iose control Hannah can you go to the war shop for me and get some of that gold thread so I can finish this off yeah okay Mom today she wanted to be a doctor
Tomorrow an actor you you know the next day she wanted to be a singer she was young so um at the end of the day it’s like the world is a oyster she wanted to do everything was that you arguing outside yeah the car is mad what you arguing about
Nothing what can I get you anyway some gold frad okay when toes school start back Monday listen Hannah do you want me to call you a cab no I’ll pay for it if you like no I’ll be all right it was the day after New Year’s
Day if you knew who might have been arguing with Hannah please call to eliminate this incident from the murder inquiry and every shopkeeper in the area knew Hanah um she was popular but she’s got this aura that you know she makes friends very easily I I felt proud you know to be her
Mom as I still am what do you think you look great mom can I go out tonight all right as long as you’re not back late okay thanks Mom do you want anything Dan can I get you anything no I’m fine don’t forget your keys yeah Hannah left her home in 6th Avenue
To go and meet a friend nearby no one knows what happened after that unless you can help Hannah disappeared okay okay but deep down the anxiety was there I was trying to like live in hope that you know she’s going to walk through the door because there’s no need for her not
To come home about 7 miles away near pervale is Hendon Hill this is early January last year do you remember being there one Sunday morning I got about halfway up and I saw three uh black guys coming down the hill um I was sort of a bit wary well it
Was just unusual to see you know three men without a dog or children or anything up there in that sort of weather it’s was unusual so I just avoided them these men are very likely unconnected with Hannah DET turville but police need to trace them to be sure the
Importance of Hendon Hill became clear 3 weeks after hannnah disappeared the area is often used by gay men and some may be crucial Witnesses London lesbian and gay switchboard how can I help you yeah I know horsington Hill it’s off the A40 are you sure don’t worry this is a confidential
Service and you find it from the concrete post 150 m in a southeasterly direction down the hill shrubs begin where it levels out and the body you say is in the wooded bit Hannah had been stabbed repeatedly as though in an outburst of anger it’s like every time I see a mother and
Daughter I envy you know that mother she’s still with me you know she she’s as if she’s still you know here that my my my memories will never fade she’s she’s there bran Pender is now running what’s regard as one of the most difficult murder investig investigations possible
Who do you hope who are you hoping will come through tonight Nick I would hope to appeal to uh friends of Hannah who have not yet contacted us those friends of Hannah who have been in touch with us and to yet more information to give us and particularly to the anonymous male
Who rang the gain lesbian switchboard on Friday the 23rd of January 1998 his contribution is vital and I can guarantee him that he’ll be treated with sympathy and discretion now over a year later the truth is I mean going through some of the clues you’ve got and they’re
Very very fragile they’re very slight that is correct in fact there are probably about nine features in fact that exist in relations with the person that we want and I would be looking to identify about four of them tonight we’re looking for somebody who’s familiar with the area of hara Road
Familiar with the area of Hendon Hill likely to have known or met with Hannah in the past a person with access to Vehicles who may have shown violence in the past and a person who over that weekend of the 2nd of January would have been heavily Blood Stained and destroy
That clothing who may have been uh involved in the extensive cleaning of premises or a vehicle that may have been heavily Blood Stained who may have confided in someone and who may have behaved strangely since that time so if anybody can put four of those features together you want them to call certainly
The the family of course have been left in turmoil and will be until this is solved that is correct nick uh the murder of young Hannah was a dreadful act of violence such crimes as this strike at the very heart of our community and in essence the whole of
Society becomes a victim none of us can understand the pain and suffering that jun’s family have gone through and that her friends are experiencing and I would appeal to anyone who consists in anyway to provide the pieces that complete the picture to come forward and help us okay
There is a reward if that would help £10,000 has been put up by the police for this as I say it’s been a desperate time for the deterville family if you know something you know anything give us a call 0 500 600 600 that comes direct to Brian Pender and his colleagues here
In the studio now I should say we’ve been having a technical problem with some of our phones tonight and if you are having a difficulty getting through please persevere and try later or in this case at least we’ll give you other numbers in a moment on this case you can
Try the incident room in London on 0181 3581 1871 that’s 0181 3581 1871 we start with a double murder and one that leaves a chilling impression because it may not be an isolated crime perhaps the killer has shown lethal violence before and the intense fear is he so again Connie
Sheridan and her daughter Jan was stabbed to death 10 weeks ago at their home in a remote part of the F under Cambridge and nor border they lived on the outskirts of the village of upwell breeding whippets and though they were on good terms with another dog breeder
Who lived not far away Connie and her daughter lived a fairly isolated life there’s a load of food coming for the dogs at past one I do hope you can be back by then my legs are not so good today you know I’d want to be here on my
Own when they come not when I’m feeling so shaky I’ll be back before then well I hope so you really shouldn’t feed the cats you know it just irritates the dogs those dogs can see too much that’s why they bark so much you know a she’s just
In a mood today Jan and Connie moved in nine years ago and I didn’t really get to know them very well well and then about 3 years ago two teenagers broke in and let all the dogs and that’s when we became more friendly as we decided that
We should keep an eye on each other’s property if we were out Connie was a sweee I like Connie very much we got on very well together well hello Connie it’s Molly do you want to send Jan over I’ve got newspapers for your kennels when Jan was at college and
Mom was there on her own I used to ring up to see if she was all right and we’d have a nice long chat you know putting the world to right oh hello Jen the road to the Sheridan’s home is a single track with hardly any
Traffic I was wary of any cars I didn’t recognize because it’s a dead end Road and I’d suffered a number of thefts of far Machinery in the P so when I didn’t see the car return again decided to go and have a look for myself it was a pale
Colored car parked next to Connie and Jan’s house G56 PVF but that registration number doesn’t exist did he get it wrong or was the number plate false the fenland drains are noted like for their Co fishing there’s breier there’s roach there’s P there’s Xander add out walking the dogs on a regular
Basis and on this on the Thursday we were actually packing up to go home good morning morning there were other fishermen at pingle Bridge in early January were you there and did you see the whip it lady or anything unusual we know Jan went into outwell that Thursday afternoon then presumably she went
Home next morning on the Friday neither Jan nor Connie had put out their rubish for collection it was the first time that had ever happened Gan used to collect my dog world on a Friday sometimes it would be a Saturday and of course that weekend it didn’t come hello this is the
Sh leave a message my friends came to pick me up on the Saturday about midday when we drove past I noticed that the curtains were still partially across Saturday evening I was still a bit concerned I looked over the gate and I could see the lights were on in the
Kitchen and I thought oh that’s all right you know but on Sunday Jan failed to turn up for work at nearby kennels the owner was alarmed especially when she heard Jan’s whippets in distress Jan was very reliable conscientious but most importantly she really loved the dogs
Dogs were her life her passion I thought something was wrong because in the 5 years she’s worked for us she’s there on the dot she’s never been sick never not turned up have you seen CH today she didn’t turn up for work and there’s no reply at the
House but the dogs are all barking something must have happened to them just so un like her to not turn up and not phone ready for lunch Molly I’m going to find my husband I call the police Connie you better wait for the police smell and the banging of the dogs made
It clear that something terrible had happened I still feel they’re there it’s just like a bad dream you know I can’t imagine that they’re not there I’m still going to do things like ring them up and say I’m going out or coming back from shopping I don’t see Jan’s car and I
Think well Jan’s gone out and these silly things and then I say to myself oh I must let Connie know that I think stop being so stupid when you think you’ll probably wake up and they’ll be there well chman in this truly awful crime you’ve been investigating for 10
Weeks you’ve never divulged the motive what do you think it is we’re unclear on the motive it isn’t clear by any means but we this 10 weeks in an inquiry we think the motive is actually sexual and given how isolated their house is down this dead end Lane
Is it somebody who’s local it’s undoubtedly somebody who currently lives locally or somebody who perhaps in the past has lived in that locality has got some very very good local knowledge if you know the area you just wouldn’t stumble across Janice and constant’s cottage it is very very isolated do you
Suspect they might also have known either Jan or well either of them either Connie or Jan yes if it isn’t somebody living locally or has lived locally it’s somebody who’s particularly targeted these two ladies now if you’ve got somebody who is perhaps sexually rather odd I mean with all that implies someone
Who would murder I mean that’s not anything you’d imagine of a relative or or a friend put all this together gray car silver gray car is that connected yes we’re fairly sure it is this is a vehicle which was seen by a witness in a farm access immediately next door you’re
Not sure you’re not sure what sort of car it is are you we’re not I mean the witness describes the vehicle as being possibly Gray or silver in color certainly light colored Saloon or hatchback and around about a medium size if you’re the brother sister flat mate
If you’ve been a former cellmate if he’s been in prison if you’re an uncle of of the offender is anything you’d notice about him I’d like people to think very very carefully about somebody close to them in the days leading up to and after the murders of constant and Janice this
Is the at the end of the first week of January that’s right did you notice some change in their behavior perhaps they were traumatized perhaps they were actually suffering from some type of stress and of course we mustn’t forget that after the murders the offender May well have been Blood Stained they may
Have washed clothing which is totally out of character or of course they could have discarded clothing and the offender might have been in the house for quite some time so he might have been away from his home or from even his place of work for many many hours that’s a
Possibility in fact ours running into perhaps a died now look let’s go back to this car because obviously it’s terribly important at least to eliminate yes is the witness this is the number that he remembered and it’s probably that he transposed a couple of he was remember
For quite a long time transpose a number or two but somebody’s got to carve with a number plate like that yes it’s likely that that index number has either been remembered slightly incorrect incorrectly but of course we can’t rule out the possibility that sort a false number and that actually adds weight to
The fact that this is a premeditated crime now a lot of people knew the wh it lady and you I know you want to contact anybody who knew Jen or who knew knew Connie a terrible terrible crime there that’s right we’re looking to local people to provide us with information
People who were visiting the area and they would include fishermen fishing for Pike and sander in in the near waterways and also people within the whippit Community their whole lives revolved around their love of breeding and showing whippits nationally they traveled the country doing this okay
Well even if you don’t think you’ve got a crucial clue Paul and his colleagues really need all the help they can get in this one please ring if there’s anything that rings a bell there’s a reward up to £25,000 but of course there’s much more at stake than that crime is live the
Number is free 0500 600 600 and there are more detectives not only here but standing by in Norfolk and they’re on 0153 65 that’s kingslin 65 Sherlock Holmes or Miss maror would probably want to have a crack at except that in Thrillers the clues are planted
For for you and you don’t need to worry much about the victim but here the victim is real and so is the anguish of his family and friends Steven VAR lived on humberside working at a fish processing plant for Bird’s eyee one day 5 years ago he disappeared
N he’s got away you’re losing your touch mate hey that no scarecrow that’s not a scarecrow that’s a body no way you don’t put shoes on a scarecrow it was a clothed skeleton I think we better call the police it was stretched out as though in a
Coffin but lying in a ditch 30 ft from the A1 100 miles north in grimby but 5 years earlier all right that look mom take this and get us in a nice joint for Sunday see you Sunday Steven regularly saw his mom but he never made it back for Sunday
Lunch he was living alone because 6 weeks before his marriage had collapsed but he was a man of routine and his wife is bewildered by his sudden disappearance it’s not the type who just walk away and leave everything he’s he’s not that type of person he like to know where he was
Going to be or even what he was going to be eating for his tea next week he wasn’t an impulsive person his glasses he can’t see to the end of his nose without his glasses he never left washing up he always washes up straight away when we
Cook her dinner we used to wash up before we eat it one of his shoes was in the middle of the stairs he’d been decorating his son’s bedroom and there was paint and the paint brushes was still in the middle of the room he didn’t even put
The lid on the painting which is not something he would ever do a day or two after Steven suddenly left he was spotted wandering down a country road at 1:00 a.m. miles from home I think that if he had been closer to a village or a town and if he had
Been walking more easily I wouldn’t have stopped and picked him up because it’s not something that I would normally do but I really felt that he really presented no threat and in fact looked to be in rather difficult predicament as long as it’s not a problem it’s 1:00 in
The morning a horrible night to go out walking you like the king you know Elvis Roy orberson he was the greatest do you know why he wore the dark glasses because he had wonky eyes and he didn’t want people to see them no his sight was damaged in the fire that
Killed his wife and daughter that was just ad me I will punish you as your Deeds deserve declares the Lord God gives but he can take away you all right things seem to be going wrong at home the Lord says I will punish the world for its evil the wicked for their
Sins I think my God’s a bit more forgiv than yours so you decided to take to the road I’m going to visit some church friends in Peter their church is on an estate the other side of the city they know you coming we know this was definitely Steven because so many details emerged
In conversation I live in this Village look uh how long have you been out on the road uh 14 hours listen you’ve been out there a long time do you want to come in for a hot drink or something I don’t want to be any trouble you’ll not get another lift not this
Late just comeing to get warm at least when I got him home I felt that he was quite pleased to be there and he began to relax so finally he decided to stay I fixed him up with a sleeping bag on C te downstairs when I woke early in the
Morning I found the sleeping B followed up on the sa and he’ gone four years after Steven vanished and a year before before his body was discovered someone seemed to be searching in the hedg where unknown to local residents Steven’s body must have laay well the first cars a sort of fat
Uno hatchback that’s pared at the end of the field right the end of the field anything else and there’s someone walking up and down the head shining a torch and can you see anybody else there all there’s a big Rover 800 driving up and down the road I mean it might be
Nothing but I just thought you ought to know what were they searching for had those people simply lost something and had gone back to retrieve it who was driving up that muddy track beside this field in sington in October 1997 12 months before the human remains were
Found I do believe S I just don’t want to be Nobody ends up like that in a ditch where nobody with them nobody nobody deserves that now we have a map here of East England where uh Steven’s last known movements were we’ll come to that in a
Moment but John mber it’s a mystery isn’t it I mean watching that film you might think given his state of mind he might have wandered into the field died of natural causes maybe committed suicide or was it suspicious well scientifically uh we cannot establish the cause of death I mean for example
There are no skeletal injuries but elements that do cause suspicion for example as you’ve heard it was unusual behavior for him then there was a mysterious um incident in the field four years almost to the day um of his disappear appearance and finally the disposition of the body body was laid on
Its back I’m told that if somebody dies in natural C causes there’s a tendency them to curl up in the fetal position and this didn’t happen in this particular case now you are convinced are you that it was Steven I mean it’s difficult to tell isn’t it in that state
The body was found in the clothing that Steven left home p and also there were personal effects that have been identified by his family in particular a house key which fits the house now then we know roughly some of his movements anyway he left home in Grimsby was
Picked up by that gentleman in Middle raising who you’ve eliminated from your inquiries you’re convinced that he’s genuine now you want to know how he got from Grimsby to Middle raisin and then what happened after he was dropped off in wellingore yes indeed for the sake of
Mary and the family I need to know what happened to him from when he left wellingore until um he arrived uh where the remains were found near Peterborough I need to know that tantalizingly on New Year’s Day the incident room at Grimsby received a phone call from somebody who
Didn’t leave their name and I would desperately like to speak to that gentleman again well let’s just hear a recording of that now hi um I think I saw John or Y his name is at the Grim th um little chef he asked me
For a list he told me he was a l driver he had angina and diabetes he needed a down sou now that caller didn’t leave a name or a telephone number so if it was you or if you recognize that name or that that voice then please call in call
If you know anything please it’s free it’s 0500 600600 we’re live and detectives here awaiting for your call there are others standing by in Grimsby and the number is 01472 36278 that’s Grimsby 36278 the murder of a tourist Maria vodki from Stockholm had been in London
For less than two hours before she was killed in an arbitrary robbery this is an appeal to the killer himself to his friends and relatives and to a London cabbie who couldn’t possibly have realized what his passenger had Done we will soon be arriving at Paddington Station which is an excellent gateway to London we hope you’ve enjoyed your journey with us on herro Express today thanks for traveling with us this afternoon and we wish you a safe and pleasant onward Journey welcome to London wish we protect the train
Straight to the apartment hey Andre never the family was staying near the Royal Albert Hall and having taken a bus to Kensington Church Street they walked into Kensington High Street to catch a number 10 towards night’s bridge when the family got on they were holding the whole bazer with an enormous
Amount of Lage and the Baskin actress got very upset Fred I’m going to have to ask you to put those in the track so you’ll cause an obstruction when we’re only going a couple of stops it doesn’t really matter I’m afraid I knew we have brought too many things nearly there don’t
Worry should I take that if you don’t mind I do distinctly remember seeing him and saying that’s extraordinary handsome chat he had close crop AF type hair and a fairly taned dark skin he had this with aconine features he was just staring straight ahead of himself he didn’t look at anybody in the
Eyes hey Andre look over there see the memorial that’s Albert just after the Albert Memorial at the junction with exhibition road with the conductor upstairs and attempted handbag snatch her head went the most awful crack on the road did you see what that man just did I jumped off a van came
Along and I thought my God he’s going to hit her I could see him running across the road and I thought well if I could get around the corner he can’t go running to that speed indefinitely maybe I can keep this up for a bit longer there were two people there standing on
The corner and they said are you chasing somebody I said yes where is he he’s getting into that taxi 5:25 Saturday the 27th of March who picked up this Fair now heading south down exhibition Road he was tall I should think he was over 6 feet he was Slender he had a little
Broad for it fairly high cheekbones and an aconine nose well David Chipley a tragic situation now this was a busy Saturday afternoon in central London lots of Shoppers and tourists obviously around do you believe that all the witnesses you need have come forward you probably don’t no I
Don’t actually uh I do know that the number 10 bus that afternoon was EX extremely busy very full of people and only a few people have come forward so far I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to passengers on the bus that day to either contact the
Studio here this evening or the incident room at peddington Green police station right now what would people have noticed about this man who committed this awful attack well we’re not entirely sure where he actually got onto the bus but we think it may have been outside the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington Road
What we do know is that he traveled standing or sitting next to the victim on the lower deck of the bus when he traveled East along inton Road uh he’s a lightskinned black man uh possibly of mixed race maybe North African extraction he’s about 6 foot in height
And slim build aged about 30 perhaps to 35 years of age uh he had very close cropped black hair uh he was smartly dressed according to Witnesses possibly in brown clothing maybe even a suit uh and what may be significant is that on the right side of his face there may be
A mole or a uh skin growth to the right of his right eye that was a very distinctive description and as we heard from one witness he generally he was he was a good-look man apparently he was now when he ran away from the incident
Remind us of the route that he took yes he jumped off the bus and ran back along Kensington Road he was chased by a passenger from the bus he was seen to turn left into exhibition Road he passed two members of the public on the pavement two men in their 40s
Mediterranean appearance who saw him apparently get into a black taxi CAD in exhibition road which then drove South towards Cromwell Road so crucially those three Witnesses are are very essential to trace aren’t they those two men that were standing on the corner of the road you haven’t managed to track them down
Yet and essentially the black cabbie because he would know where he’ taken the chat he would the black cabbie is of vital importance to us I’m positive he can further our investigation so um bearing in mind maybe a memory jogger England was Playland at Wembley I think
They might have been listening to it on the radio and a man got in very flustered presumably very flustered he’d run some distance and very fast so he would have drawn attention to himself about 520 to 5:30 on Saturday March the 27th thank you 0500 600 600 that’s live
To detectives here in the studio and it’s a free call and there are more detectives waiting on 0171 321 9640 that’s 0171 321 9640 this is a somber and for me a surreal crime watch UK for all of us here it can be grueling coping with crimes against victims who strangers
It’s been almost unbearable dealing with Jill’s death Jill dando was much more than a colleague she was everyone’s friend Prime much as poor without her but this program was her passion and now as Jill helped others we hope we can do the same for her for her family and for her fiance
Alan my senior police officer arrived at my work to tell me that a lady of Jill’s description had been attacked on Jill’s doorstep and had been rushed to Charing Cross hospital and had subsequently died from her injuries we’ve had to look at everything we’ve had to look at it in the complete
360° at all sorts of things that were happening but we’ve been looking at facts and we’ve been looking at evidence and one of the first pieces of information and real facts when the postman was was delivering mail to Jill dando’s House number 29 gown Avenue I was delivering mail long the
Odd numbers till I reached 29 which I know is J dando’s house I’ve met j a few times either delivering a m or passing in the street I took a couple of Paces down the front Garden Path and just before I reached the front garden gate I saw a
Man standing in the road looking directly at number 29 uh it like he thought someone was going to receive the money M I was looking for illegally parked cars on both sides of the road and I noticed a Rain Rover facing the ful and Palace Road I started to type the
Registration number in and suddenly I noticed this man that was sitting in the driver’s seat and I was quite sort of startled and a bit embarrassed so I just walked off towards monster Road and at the about the same time a driver saw another
Man and he was near the other end of G Avenue I was coming out of Bishop’s Road and wanted to turn right and immediate left to cross monster Road into go on Avenue and he was outside the Glazier shop and as I went he crossed he kept looking up and down the
Road I thought maybe he was looking for the road name he was looking up if you were in gown Avenue on that day now is the time to come forward and tell us getting towards the end of gown Avenue on the Fulham Palace Road end I was conscious that somebody was sitting
On my tail as it were you know was hurrying me I had got the impression there was more than one person there was a couple of people in the car I was feeling very pressured by the car behind I could hear it revving and if that was you and you were
In a hurry in your Rain Rover we do want to hear from you to eliminate you from the inquiry I went straight up Dy road that opposite gown and turned right at the end to come out by fham football club and I felt sort of pressured into going faster than I wanted to
I sort of looked over my shoulder and saw the Range Rover parking sort of opposite fulam football club it is important to eliminate this vehicle there were several sightings of a blue Range Rover dark blue Range Rover were you parked up in the Fulham Football Club or driving around that
Area on the 26th of April we would like to know we need to know if you were there next is a window cleaner and he was opposite Jill’s house and he saw a man again walking wandering around outside number 29 the window cleaner thought he was an estate
Agent he was carrying a mobile phone and was talking into the mobile phone he described him as having blond hair but Smart in appearance wearing a suit almost all the witnesses talk of a man in a suit with dark hair or black hair so this man the window cleaner see
Someone with with blonde hair now he may be someone completely innocent or is he the person that we’re looking for another sighting of yet another dark blue Range Rover is around about 11:00 the man is driving again in gown Avenue but going the other way he had noticed a
Man in gow Avenue standing between two parked cars just standing there as he approaches gow Avenue M Road and he turns left parked right on the corner there but also on the curb is a dark blue Range Rover there’s nobody in it I better go I don’t want to get a
Ticket love to GL bye I was weighing up whether to go home or to Sally Parson a shop on Fulham road I was thinking quite hard about it and as I sat there there was a man about one car length away he had noticeable dark
Hair and a blue suit and he didn’t seem uncomfortable or uneasy um I was thinking of my dilemma at the time but I was somehow dimly aware that he might have been an estate agent I saw a man standing on the corner of Gowan Avenue it’s very very agitated
And the one thing that I couldn’t help but keep looking at was like the glasses he had on his face they didn’t seem to fit I think it is always difficult for anybody to cope if they don’t know why something has happened this is a situation which defies all logic is totally impossible
To explain and therefore totally impossible to understand at this moment in time even an explanation will not change the situation and will probably not change the fact that I don’t understand what has happened or why it has happened I heard a scream I looked out the window and saw uh a character walk
Away and also saw a chap coming out of number 30 I came out of the front door and I saw this man running down the street and he immediately alerted my attention because he was furtive he was up to no good I could tell it at
Once what we found is four Witnesses who see a man or different men running down the fulm palace road towards patney and the first witness is somebody who had been to the betting shop about 11:37 1138 he saw a man running across the Fulham Palace Road
From the Gowan Avenue side and a car nearly knocked him down and the man saw him run to the west side of ful Palace Road and start to run down fulam palace Road another lady saw a man running down the Bishop’s park side of fulam Palace Road carrying a
Mobile phone and talking into the mobile phone and she found that very odd is that the same man who had just run over The Pedestrian cross further down the ful and Palace Road a few minutes later a lady is driving a truck North and sees a man as she
Decides running for all his life wearing a suit dark hair South towards Putney he was carrying a mobile phone at roughly the same time a van driver is going towards ping the full and Palace Road and a man ran out in front of him and the van driver had to
Break heavily to avoid hitting him stupid idiot that witness saw the man run across the for Palace Road and into Bishop’s Park so there four Witnesses seeing a man running almost the full length of Fallen Palace road crossing the road and going into the
Park what we do know of the man in gwn Avenue is he was wearing a dark waxy Barber type jacket thigh length certainly the man running in ful and Palace Road was not wearing a jacket or coat so we can’t be sure that the man in
Fulham Palace road is the one in G Avenue but perhaps he was a lookout perhaps he was a man standing at the end of gawan Avenue and then following the shooting he has run away down the ful Palace Road separately at around the time that he
Saw him run into Bishop’s park there are a number of witnesses who saw a man in the park by the railings by the river acting suspiciously and oddly you see the same man as who ran across the Fulham Palace Road we’re not sure but certainly there was a woman in
The park and she saw a man leaning over the railings talking on a mobile phone and he was talking in a suspicious Manner and when she came by he quietened his voice and was concerned of her presence that man in particular had dark hair but he was described as wearing a
Gray or dark coat which was long thigh coat that could be the same man who was seen running from gown Avenue because the coat in particular is very similar one of the witnesses saw a man climbing over the railings and onto the steps which lead down to the river who is that
Man the witness does describe that man as wearing a royal blue wi cheeter coat now that’s certainly not the description of the man who was seen running from gwan Avenue which was a dark waxy Barber type coat so there is a possibility strong possibility that man has nothing
To do with this inquiry and if that is the case if he came forward we could eliminate him very quickly and finally there is a crucial witness at the bus stop in the foot on Palace Road opposite Bishop’s Park he just caught my attention I don’t
Know why and then as he got closer I could see he was sweating on his face as if he’d been running get this impression to you only I mean I mean I wouldn’t even throw my orange peel on the floor because he gave me that impression that he was a
Policeman and I thought if I throw that on the floor he’s going to tell me right pick that up you know all his color was all wet like he been sweating he was about 5’9 5′ 10 he had a slightly foreign looking nose he had a
Mark on his nose Bridge as if he wore glasses I was left at the bus stop with this man the woman with the two children and somebody I think it was another girl who was just walking up towards the bus stop when it actually got there 220 and
He never got in 74 220 came I let the young lady with the two children get on it cuz she was like at end of her teor cuz the kids were being really bad as I let them on I looked at him there was no
Response from him I got on the bus and we left him at the 220 bus stop in the bus drivers records show that four people got onto that bus at the time the man who answers the EIC was on one of them was an elderly lady one of
Them was a young man 18 19 years old the bus driver can’t remember the third person so there are definitely three other people who can come forward with information concerning this man station we be interested to know what he was talking about did anybody he part of that conversation was anybody annoyed by
The phone ringing and someone suddenly start talking on the bus were you on that 74 we would like to hear from you all four passengers got off where did he go from there at this stage we don’t know we’ve examined CCTV footage from the py bridge railway station he can’t be found
On there at this time did he go in a taxi did he go in a car did a car come along and pick him up or did he walk away over Putney Bridge or down back into the Fulham Road did anybody see him we would like to know everybody
Associated with Jill in any way whatsoever finds it totally unbelievable that the tables are turned like this and we are actually in this absurd situation making an appeal on her behalf the horrifying fact is that somebody has murdered the person that I had planned to spend the rest of
My life with somebody has murdered a person who was so widely loved and respected by everybody she came across it’s impossible to comprehend that one is the vict vitim of crime Jill is the victim of crime and we are all the victims of that crime by virtue of the fact that we
Are horrendously affected by what has happened he M Campell let’s see how viewers can really help solve this there are just so many sightings there so many people there they can’t all be involved in Jill’s murder why haven’t they come forward to be eliminated I think a lot
Of them believe that they’ve got nothing to contribute that they were there innocently and therefore why should they come forward but what I’m saying is it’s essential they come forward because they help us determine the motive was there just one person involved in this killing or more than one and as soon as
Everybody who is in that street comes forward we can eliminate them and move the inquiry on hey supposing they have reasons for not wanting to come forward they’re concerned about their anonymity I’m thinking particularly for example of Range Rover drivers we know there must have been dozens of Range Rovers in that
Area at that time we know the has pointed out one of them was driving very badly I mean I if I was that driver would be reluctant to come forward I a fear of prosecution apart from I can understand that but there’s no concern in relation to track traffic offenses or
Minor matters the concern here is the murder of Jill dando so if they’ve been involved in minor traffic matters forget that ring us tell us where you were on that day which Range Rover you were driving and where you were that’s a guarantee of immunity absolutely and you
Want all Range Rovers in full on Monday the 26th of April in that morning yes now it’s pretty clear from that reconstruction that the guy walking running down Fulham Palace Road um was one person I mean all the witness statements seem to converge on that one description and yet that description is
Different from the gunman so the EIT that you’ve issued the man at the bus stop in Fulham Palace Road may very well not be the killer that is possible and certainly the man in the fulam palace Road was not wearing a coat whereas the man in gown Avenue was so there’s a
Strong indication that there are two different people the EIT is of the man at the bus stop people need to focus on that for who is that man is he the lookout was he another party to the killing but our key concern is the man
In gow Avenue but can we just stay with that man in the the bus stop first yes it is possible he was running down full people run down roads every now and then for entirely ocent reason about having shot someone it is possible he is watching and recognizes himself if he
Comes forward he’s going to have a hell of a time is not at all because if he comes forward and he has nothing to do with that incident then we can speak to him and eliminate him he might have been late for an appointment late for a bus
Or or whatever as long as he comes forward and we can push the inquiry on again can you guarantee him in anonymity yes now you’ve always maintained this the most difficult sort of inquiry for detectives what you call a 360 degree inquiry yes let’s try and focus it so
That so that people can help on the one hand there’s the possibility it’s a conspiracy involving several people yes and on the other there’s the prospect that it’s just one person let’s just take the criminal conspiracy idea first again how can people help now viewers of crime watchat it’s important to remember
That there’s a there’s a large and substantial reward in this case there’s 100,000 from The Daily Mail there’s £50,000 from Crime Stoppers where people can ring up anonymously and give us information people need to ask themselves as we have done who has gained from this murder after 21 days
What do you mean who’s gained has someone gained financially has someone received money recently has somebody benefited in some way whether it’s Financial or emotional there is a reason why jel dander was murdered and people need to look now who has gained what benefit has been achieved by this death
And come forward with any information the reward money is there it’s substantial and people need to think very very hard tonight on what that is of course one line to that reward and one line the criminal fraternity can help with is to trace the murder weapon
Yes now of course guns can be acquired abroad we all know that but assuming we can’t make that assumption but just for the moment make it that this gun was acquired in the United Kingdom yes how would whoever mediated that sale recognize the weapon well two guns here
This evening and what we’re saying is this gun here the 9mm Browning the larger firearm is not the weapon that was involved in the killing of yando right that’s one that lots of newspapers and so forth have have been portraying it’s not that yes it is this type of
Firearm this is a 9mm short not only is the bullet shorter but the whole weapon is smaller can be held in your palm of your hand can can be concealed in a pocket people need to look now at this weapon have they recently handled this gun have they recently passed it onto
Somebody else have they disposed it for somebody did they make arrangements before Monday the 26th of April to give this type of gun to somebody there is the reward money people need to look at this firearm and ring us tonight much less common than than the bigger weapons considerably less common when these
Weapons are sold illegally they usually sold with ammunition what sort of ammunition was used to shoot the ammunition that used to shoot down there was 9 mm short Remington manufacturer there was no suggestion that it was a dum dum bullet there’s no suggestion that this firearm was fitted with a
Silencer so if somebody was involved in that sale you’re saying they can ring Crime Stoppers anonymously yes tell us the procedure about that supposing someone says look I want to get that £150,000 reward but I’m not prepared to take the risk of prosecution for firearms offenses if they ring Crime Stoppers and
They have got real information to give us concerning this farum or anything else they will be given a security number and it’s that security number which will identify them with Crime Stoppers not the police and the information could be passed to them which in turn will be given to us now
We’ve been looking at the criminal conspiracy supposing it is just a loner yes then then again how could people watching this program help identify that that if it is a loner I mean it could explain the apparent motiveless of the crime but maybe this person has a a
Fixation or a strong fascination with jel dando maybe he’s displayed that in some way with collection of photographs constant talking I’m not sure but people need to look again to their Partners or others was he concerned or fascinated about jel dando what was he doing on
Monday the 26th of April was he late for work did he not turn up for work was there some features of his behavior which was different on that day well it’s a free call number here 0500 600 600 please call if you can identify any of those people that have
To be eliminated and please let us know if you’ve had any suspicions about an individual who may have done this there are many more detectives standing by at the incident room at Kensington the number there is 01812 460732 01812 460732 and let me repeat as if it needed saying that total reward is
150,000 pounds please though could ask you don’t ring on the numbers I’ve just given you for condolences for Jill we really need these lines open for the clues for our appeals tonight the hunt for a killer in North London though frankly this could have been a tragic accident it’s a a hit and
Run the motorcyclist involved may not have known how Dreadful the outcome was and tonight we’re hoping he’s going to have the decency the courage to come forward if only to say’s sorry and we hope his friends and relatives will put pressure on him or indeed will’ll call
Him themselves it happened six weeks ago on Forst green between East Finchley and muswell Hill and the victim was Maria bandre she was 70 and had been a grandmother for just six days My daughter was born my first daughter and my mom’s first grandchild and my mom said to me that she’d never been so content in her life on that afternoon I don’t think anything else was on her mind apart from my daughter she was literally going to do
What she really wanted to do which was to get a little jumper which she had knitted embroidered with the name of my daughter Tuesday afternoon in early April and a wouldbe taxi driver was learning the route between mwell Hill and East Finchley I was actually doing me knowledge taking a few places points
Of interest around the end of one of me runs I was looking for the police station at the time when the uh the bike went past me very Fast he was driving like a lunatic when he went past me were you overtaken by a motorbike going fast down 40s green on Tuesday the 6th of April paid more than me she don’t do anything she’s getting paid more I know didn’t you know no I’m not coming out
She’s coming I haven’t invited her what are you going to wear get over friend are just going get an ambulance the bike had thrown Maria 30 ft down the road the rider seemed to have injured his right hand and the Machine had lost part of its Fairing and Its Right mirror I received a call saying that um my’s been badly injured it it just felt like someone had torn your life up you know you on a high and such a high and someone said well no you’re actually too happy now and I’m going to knock you down but really knock you down badly
I turned up at the scene there was lots of police around lots of people what about I think he was wearing black I’m not sure well he was coming down at an incredible speed when he passed me up there and um I went to turn around this
Road and I actually saw the woman lying down on the floor the police just said the bike it was a hit and run and he didn’t stop it’s funny I didn’t really feel any hatred I just felt shocked that someone could actually do that a few minutes later an unmarked
Police car was heading up the hornsey road near Archway November Hotel receiving November Victor 5 that motorcycle the red Honda we’ve just seen it it’s traveling south in Hy Road in the direction of um Seven Sisters Pam I think it’s an arid yeah November Hotel further to that we
Think it’s an rge an R we didn’t get any further index but um we just turned around and we’re trying to go after it now the bike was heading south towards Seven Sisters and was quickly lost in traffic people asking you all the time have you the police got any more
Information what’s the latest they know that’s just that’s tur us apart someone’s murdered your mom that’s how I feel if the person comes forward then at least the questions will no longer be there and I will respect the person for there after this appeal this is a similar bike it’s a
Honda far blade and all 3,830 suspect models like this are going to be checked did you repair a red white and black far blade last month one with an unusual opaque black wind screen that had got broken in the smash the mirror we know got knocked off as well you
Would have seen it in the Reconstruction or did you sell or replace this this right hand fairing this streamlining lead you know where the bike is now and did you treat a man for damage to his right hand perhaps indeed possibly a broken bone help clear this up please
Sooner rather than later the incident room is on 81246 9820 that’s 01812 46982 or of course you can call the studio here on 0500 600600 really strong calls coming in tonight we’ll tell you about them later in one of the first ever crime watch programs some I think it was 14 years
Ago we covered a terrible crime in which a man posed as a gas board official and murdered a shopkeeper who led him into his kitchen we now have what may be somewhat similar crime this time a man posing as a water company official it happened in Bethel Green in East London
On a Friday afternoon four weeks ago the victim was Mary lasenby her family are all Keen that this appeal should go ahead but they’re so distressed they couldn’t eles take part so Mary’s Cara guides us through what happened her life was our cats she loved
Our cats I used to say to her Mary have your dinner and she’d make sure the cat had her dinner first US cho cho I’ve been going to see Mary on an off for about 10 years and I used to take her dinner every day come on then
She mainly just stayed in her FL that she might put the Telly on sometimes but she was mainly with her cat sure de down you do have your little favorites I’d be lying if I said I didn’t you know Mary was one of them Mary had her own flat at the end of
This Corridor in Rochester Court housing for the elderly it may be sheer coincidence but her neighbor Sophie had an unexpected visitor on Friday afternoon the 21st of May he had no right to be in the building and certainly no right to be inside Sophie’s flat hello there I’m just from the water
Board here to see about your water do you have a bowl or anything like that I can BR there’s nothing wrong with my water see your ID of course there you go okay tell you what should we go and see the warden she knows me she’ll vouch for me doubt
Okay later on Sophie found her purse was missing missing soon afterwards two men were seen sitting on a wall in Wilmont Street outside Rochester Court who were they and was this their van then half an hour later the son of some residents answered the intercom uh sorry I got the wrong flat
Okay who was trying to get into the building around 5:00 p.m. that Friday was this you innocently going to the wrong flat or was it the man who’d stolen Sophie’s purse then an hour later at Mary’s end of the corridor here we are ladies come on then we come
I thought we could as we came out of the lift we saw a man at Mary Len store Mary are you all right try dress I assumed he was visiting he was very casual and he just walked in and out of sight I’ve got a lump in my throat every time I talk
About it I feel sick you know because she she would have let anybody in she would have believed anything anybody would told her but to do what they did to her is just unbelievable half an hour later Mary was heard talking to someone in her flat why
You doing that to me even then I just thought it was a relative a visit of some kind that she knew she wasn’t shouting she didn’t stand frightened for you we can go down as we went in the lift I heard Mary’s front door open and close quite quickly now I think that
Maybe it was her opening the front door and maybe him shutting it maybe she was trying to get out and I wish I’d gone back up to have a listen outside the door or even from the lift I might have heard something okay dear I’m all done I’ll
See you next week all right you take care all right when I left my clients I was walking towards Mary’s door A young fell came out of the door you were going in this black oh no he didn’t appear nervous at all he was 17 to 18 years old medium height had short
Blonde hair a thin face with a chipped tooth and was smart and clean Mary’s body was discovered in her living room the next morning she’d been punched and kicked so hard that her jaw her ribs and her spine were broken I’ll just remember the lady I
Used to go to every single day for years warm lovely simple lady and I just I’ll just remember smiling smiling at me at the door make whoever killed her seems to have completely lost it lost control yeah Mary’s injuries was absolutely horrendous her jaw her sternum every rib
In her body was broken her spine was actually snapped and her heart and her liver both exploded as a result of the force used on her she was a small frail lady with a disability it seems inconceivable whoever did this could could have done this as a first offense
I wouldn’t have thought so I would have thought there was probably a string of minor offenses that have led up to this did he do this on his own or do you think there were two people involved or perhaps more there was certainly he was
Even on the flat in the flat on his own I would think that there was a possibility that was another man outside the flat somewhere maybe in the street outside or outside the confines how seriously in trouble is that accomplished well I can’t believe that two people went out that day intent
On committing this horrendous crime I would think that probably one of them doesn’t know what his accomplishes done if he was outside and he went out with a view of committing what he thought was a minor crime a theft of some description and now he knows what’s actually
Happened within if he comes forward and speaks to us tells us who the other person is I can assure him I will deal with him for the minor offense of theft providing he’s got nothing to do with his offense of murder at all and if he doesn’t come forward as he much bigger
Trouble of course he is yeah because that just shows that he may have some sort of knowledge or he may have been part of it now this EIT of the we’ve got from the witness who saw the man coming out of the flat you’re fairly confident
Of that tell tell us what you know about this man’s description the E is very good the man is about 18 years old he’s 5′ 10 he’s got an angular face pointed features quite slim build he’s described as quite goodlooking with short cropped hair but there’s he’s got half a tooth
Missing on the left hand upper part of his mouth and his smile is actually ruins his good looks apparently because there’s a Buckle in the rest of his teeth now this is terrifying to to people this sort of attack particularly to elderly people you were telling me ear older shouldn’t be worried about
This sort of thing it’s very very rare indeed it is very rare Nick yeah older people shouldn’t be worried at all because statistics show that younger people are more prone to be victims of violent attacks and I said before there’s absolutely no need for this sort
Of violence to be Ed on this type of person well this is a horrible crime there may be something anything that you can contribute if there is please 0500 600 600 that call cost you nothing or you could ring detectives in the incident room on 0171 7901 1212 that’s 0171 791
1212 in Wales and Scotland crimes caught on camera and faces people are going to find familiar but we start by going back two months ago we reconstructed one of Britain’s most appalling murders perhaps the worst crime in Wales this Century Mandy Powers was 34 her daughters Emily
And Kate were 8 and 10 her mother Doris Dawson was 80 the injuries they sustained were Savage Beyond Comprehension since our last appeal a host of new Clues has emerged so it’s Saturday the 26th of June it was a memorable afternoon in Wales when the National Rugby team beat South Africa
For the first time in 90 years but it was a terrible night in Kelvin Road and kidu in Swansea we start with Mandy’s sister my sister Mandy she was a wonderful mother she loved her girls they were her life and she was good to my mother they were such a loving family
That they wouldn’t hurt anybody just seemed so odd so unre somebody would want to hurt them initially the house would have been Smoke Filled and therefore they unable to see anything but once the casualties are brought out into the open the horror became a reality some of them of young families
Of their own and to witness the deaths of two young beautiful sisters must have indeed been a traumatic event for them this is the most tragic and horrific experience that we have had to date how much do I owe you 250 thank you Mandy and the children got home late
That night Mandy had been babysitting for her cousin and a nearby estate at halfast midnight The crucial new witness the cab driver was called to the three compasses in kid taxi mark it was about my maybe a little bit shorter 56 57 stocky black hair spiked year each year
Who was this who took the taxi booked for Mark Come forward and eliminate yourself where to Calvin Ro me in okay see the game all class but don’t what a game man in 2099 very happy Chief at a time well most people that time cuz Wheels one see
Had a few drinks but he wasn’t drunk sounded quite local June can you mind the front minute I’m just going to call a c next we’re trying to trace everyone who was at or near the chip shop on the Mond in KAC that Saturday night can I have a taxi for gianis yeah
As soon as you come okay Cheers Cheers and who was the girl in the white puffer jacket who used the phone at a quarter to one she won’t know it but she’s a very important witness this is less than 100 yards from Mandy’s house 13 M no worries
But catch you yeah okay take care hello have you still yeah six fre no go ahead it’s picking up a lady from GI CHP up on the m going to pen yeah okay got that on my Way but I don’t know why she’s stuck in my mind I just remember seeing her sitting on the wall she was dark she was tan she was a pretty woman she had quite a lot of jewelry you noticed the jewelry excuse me if you mind if I take
This one I’m in a real Rush sorry love I’ve been working all night I’m off home is this taxi for me I don’t know I was just told to come and do a pick up at the chi who was this woman again she’s crucial to the
Inquiry a few minutes later the cab got back to the Mond a taxi left yes she’s about five five black wavy hair quite conservatively dress nice smartly dressed petite where to Calvin Road you see the rugby then huh 2919 10 points on the South Africans they Tred to have a
Conversation she just totally blanked me strange cuz nor normally get one or two words over but nothing at all the she was sitting there with her hands on her lap with her head down as if she was in a world of her own I still do here this is outside Mandy’s house
This is the key person that needs to be identified but there are still others who may be Witnesses too the couple walking down Geon and road at about halfast 2 and the man in a bomber jacket who was walking up towards Kelvin Road carrying something under his arm please come forward
Tonight there’s still a r to be eliminated were you arguing near Mandy’s house that night was obviously what wed me up it was definitely a very big slanging match between two people the female B distressed the what the male did but the male voice was more dominant in the
Arguments and we must still trace the couple walking past the upper Ford cottages at about 4:15 a.m. there a few minutes walk from Mandy’s house but before the fire was discovered when we got that it was chaos really firemen ambulance men and I just remember just getting out of the car and
Running up the steps of the house where they were all lying outside and it was raining and I thought I was thinking well they all were getting wet Martin plainly the woman dropped by the taxi is the person you have to eliminate above all you’ve just got to find her
Now the fact is she hasn’t gone to any of the neighboring houses so presume she went into number nine if so she’s going to be very frightened about coming forward she’s going to be into this up to her neck well she shouldn’t be frightened if she had no part to play in
This Murder She should come forward and contact us as simple as that really now I would ask it took us 5 weeks to T to trace the taxi driver it may take us some time to trace her but we will Trace her we will speak to her so please if
She is listening or you know who she is contact us immediately now presuming she doesn’t come from very far a field you didn’t have her own car or a so for people in that general area just give us the best description you’ve got of her
Well she’s in a in a early 30s um she’s quite tanned in fact the EIT doesn’t do adest her she is described as being quite attractive she’s size 12 she was wearing black clothing that night and a lot of gold jewelry now talking of jewelry you discovered at the scene of the
Murders this is identical to it a chain like this it’s gold tell us about it and it significance it’s a solid gold chain it’s manufactured in 1989 it was bought from from places like Argos and such like those sort of places it sold for just under £300 in 1989 now I’ve been
Interested to know who actually has got a necklace like that and has not had it since June of this year so this is a solid gold n mens or females do you know it’s unisex be worn by either male or female and somebody who hasn’t had that
And since Saturday the 26th of June that’s right okay there’s a a £30,000 reward on this um let me just say incidentally that after the last program that unlicensed taxi driver who was identified well we promised the police promised that there would be no prosecutions and they’ve been as good as
They word he hasn’t been charged with any offenses all they want to do is to clear up this terrible multiple murder so whoever you are whatever is holding you back if anything at all call in help think of the children think of the grandmother and think of what happened
To Mandy it’s a free call here to the studio in London 0500 600 600 that number is going to be on the screen through much of the evening or ring the local incident room on 01792 5 62731 at Swansea 562 2 731 near Glasgow it’s almost a cliche a
Girl walking home from a nightclub in the early hours and being attacked but what happened to Laura Donnelly is truly exceptional and singularly disturbing for a start she wasn’t just harassed or molested she was sexually assaulted and murdered joh we’re going to take some tapings and swabs from inside the tent

Junction of corbar Road just by the cricket ground do you know who was in the hospital car park that leads from the Royal Alexandra towards crar Road what time does the flight come in again it’s 3:00 I think we’re going to be too early we could be waiting down
There a long time let be in and get settled she’s braving her own at this time of night no there’s a guy with her there maybe it’s a l stuff this could be a prime suspect medium build maybe in his 20s who is he and what was he doing
Near the hospital at A4 2 in the morning excuse me there’s a woman outside screaming there’s a woman outside down the bottom of the drive screaming she’s not from theity or anything she sounds like she’s in real trouble have a Qui people’s going seeing this person’s an animal an animal wouldn’t he do
That I think whoever it is must be a monster because she was Tiny and a a was face to face where it must be a monster what was it did you see anything I never saw a thing I never saw a thing at all sounded awful really scared me no
Obviously given the circumstan I’m going to get the nature inspected out okay but thanks very much okay let’s love you for let us know thanks cheers police didn’t find anything but next morning the groundsman did that evening a young boy looking for his football found Laura’s body hidden in Long Grass
I can’t get how another human being could look at her straight into her face and destroy him I just can’t understand it so Laura was just a lovely girl everybody says so just desperately desperately unlucky Laura was in the wrong place at the wrong time Laura was
A very Ordinary Girl a very ordinary n to Opportunities crime opportunist crime obvious I mean nobody could possibly have known she was going to arrive there so presumably this is a local man we know that uh someone left the reception area of the accident emergency department at the Royal Alexandra
Hospital about 10 2 that morning he was described as 5’8 slim build short hair clean shaving wearing a dark blue anorak a football type an the white T-shirt we need to know who he is either for elimination or to tie into this one way or another that’s correct
Now how can people in the area and of course everybody in the area has been shocked by this everybody wants to try and identify who the Killer is what can they have noticed how can they know who it is because you haven’t got an EIT of the killer you haven’t got a strong
Description what would they have noticed in Behavior or anything else we believe someone who’ have committed such a dreadful crime of this would display some change in their behavior from that day remember this was a holiday weekend in Paisley that may will not be that they’ve changed their appears it might
Just be simply they’re quieter or more Solen than normal if if you’ve such concerns about a son a boyfriend the husband I I need you to contact me we can deal with that sensitively and in confidence we have got a DNA uh profile from the crime scene and we can very
Quickly put your mind at ease so if somebody comes up with a with a suggestion however mild their concern they just noticed a behavior change in somebody perhaps in their 20s or 30s they have concerns about you can eliminate just like that exactly I I I I
Plead with you if you have any concerns I know it’s very difficult to come forward in those circumstances but we can deal with this very sensitively it almost goes without saying call us then if there’s anything that you can add anything at all 0500 600600 or ring the incident room in
Paisley 01 4153 25946 that’s glasgo 532 5946 it’s quite shocking a crime in a family house in suon in Su Southwest of London it happened on Friday the 2nd of July Morning why do you always get up so late you’re letting the summer pass you by well this is early for me my
Relationship with my grandfather was more than a typical grandfather grandson relationship because I was the first grandson in the family he loved me very very much my first initial thoughts was that maybe some heavy object is falling down or something like that San Shah they’ve hit me they’ve hit me go call the
Police [Applause] something to men are trying to I just heard the second shot and that made me panic over the phone I just wanted to put down the phone and run downstairs but I was still believing that nothing has happened everything’s going to be fine at the end
These are killers the second shot hit Muhammad Raja in the head the gunman is average height slim and in his 30s and had a day growth of beard his accomplice is 6’1 in his late 20s the mustache might not be real I was totally devastated I did not
Know what had happened what had struck us it was like the end of the world for me I would not like any other family or any other person in the whole world to go through what we’ve been through about 20 minutes later half a mile away hi why’ you thinking D
It did you hear the bang or see the two men run off and anything you notice might be critical the vehicle was bought in Northeast London 3 weeks earlier the buyer may be innocent we badly need to find him he’s described as early 20s stocky 5 10 unshaven and with short black hair
All right take it easy great than Note the Arsenal sticker the yellow hubcaps there were green stripes on the side and until the murder Thunderbird 2 on the front sign where was this van parked for most of June until the day before the murder on Thursday morning I saw a white
Van on mulgrave road and the van was quite distinctive on Friday I was jogging as usual and uh I noticed the van again I stopped to cross over and they actually stopped to let me cross the road I felt a little apprehensive at the time but um the driver was staring at
Me she describes him as late 20s Asian or mixed race with black wavy and untidy hair he had two accomplices this time the van was being driven rather badly by a man of similar appearance this is a different EIT but it’s largely the same description as that given by the jogger 4 hours
Earlier on a motive have you got one Muhammad Raja was was a landlord where did he have disgruntle tenants why did this happen well this is quite possible he did he also was a property developer and one of the important things of the appeal tonight is to ask for anybody
That knew mamed Roger in his business dealings or as a tenant please contact us here uh this evening uh or at the incident room but moreover we’re very anxious uh we believe that the the perpetrators of this Dreadful crime uh clearly planned it and we would therefore ask that if they have spoken
To anybody which I’m sure that they have anybody involved in the planning please contact us here tonight or the instant room you know nobody deserves in this world to uh be killed in the way that Mohammad uh Raja was murdered at his own front doorstep um in the presence of his
Own family so you want anybody first of all who knew Muhammad Roger at all at any time yes and at any time you really want to find out as much about his background as you can even if people who think they know nothing about or absolutely I’m convinced that they will
Be able to offer some uh contribution towards the investigation and you’re pretty clear that there are some people who do know something about this whoever did this would have blabbed or word would have got out I think the the the way it’s been planned that that clearly these people who have been involved
Without doubt had mentioned it to someone else and it’s those people that I would ask to come in touch get in touch with us here uh this evening now why if these people have planned it so carefully did they then use a van that was so distinctive I mean people must
Have seen this vehicle well I think this is probably um part of their plan um I accept that the vehicle uh which is so distinctive um it was purchased on the um 11th of June uh there was some 21 days where it’s been unaccounted for
Until the time of the murder it is so distinctive and somebody must have seen it either parked outside of their house or perhaps on a Motorway or even in a petrol station somebody must have seen that van and I would appeal to anyone no matter how insignificant they think the
Sting may have been please contact us here tonight so anybody who knew Muhammad Raja yes anybody who has heard anything on the Great Vine about this anybody who’s seen that van very much so if there’s been any uh over hearing of conversations or anyone who’s got any information uh about the people
Responsible for this crime I urge them to contact us here tonight all right Chris thank you if there’s anything then that you can add uh here’s the number 0500 600600 or you can ring the instant room of course that’s 0181 8531212 easy number to remember 0181 8531212
