Riverside 1.2L watertight saddle bag

Today we have a gander at the Riverside 1.2L saddlebag.

Did C hi everyone welcome back to the channel and welcome back to product training Tuesdays so today I thought we would have a look at the Riverside waterproof or watertight uh saddle bag which is uh this one which is brand new so um the beauty of this one uh compared

To our other one is the fact it’s a little bit more durable and also it is properly waterproof uh what I mean by that is it’s essentially like a dry bag uh but uh you can wedge it underneath your saddle so absolutely brilliant now the other version that we used to do uh

Was quite thick material all the way through uh whereas this one has changed a little bit and I’m I’m going to talk about the details go into a little bit more detail so on the top of the bag I don’t know whether you can see this here

But you can see it’s a little bit more robust they’ve actually um bonded another part uh into the top to make sure that any kind of rubbing anything like that on the saddle is not going to actually wear through the bag so win on that one um the other thing is that the

Actual way it attaches to the saddle is a lot better as well so originally we did have a strap which was made of the same material as the bag uh and eventually they would end up kind of pulling apart or or ripping and so uh

They’ve now replaced it with um a CLI so standard clip so basically what you do is like you get on a helmet so one part goes over one of the Rails underneath the saddle and then another this bit here the longer bit goes underneath the other rail comes right the way around

Underneath the bag and then Clips in so this is going to make it a lot more U supportive underneath the bag so if you do tend to carry a lot of weight because this will take 1.2 L of stuff um then of course it’s not going to flop about and

Flap about still may do that a little bit so it’s going it’s going to be hanging between your legs but uh the fact is it’s not going to uh knock about too much and hopefully it won’t catch your legs because actually this is tapered I don’t know if you can see that

There it’s like a wedge shape so this part this part here sits next to the seat post so it shouldn’t rub your legs uh and then of course this bit gets wider the further uh back it actually goes uh so this should fit most seat

Posts when I say most some of the really Arrow posts it may just reach around you can probably see that that’s on its maximum setting just there you wouldn’t want to go any further than that so you should be able to get most Arrow posts in there uh the other thing with this

Bag is that they’ve CH like I’ve said already they changed the material so here it’s quite strong and really robust and then the further it goes down to this point here it gets thinner so if I’m just going to open up the velcro here the velcro strap and then I’m going

To roll this part open you can probably see already and then I’m going to open that velcro with a little tab got a little rip tab there and again this is going to keep it completely watertight now you can see you’ve got velcro at the end and then velcro here and that’s

Basically so you can really wrap it tightly so that it won’t let water in uh obviously if it’s raining at the time that you stick your hand in the bag then of course you going to get water in the bag and it will just sit in all of your

Stuff so just bear that one in mind it does not bre bre at all um but I don’t know whether you can see that here but you can see that this bit here is really strong material and then this bit here is bonded to the rest of the bag and

Then this is slightly thinner to allow you to roll it up really really tightly so like I say it would take about 1.2 L of stuff but uh an absolute brilliant thing to have with you now personally I don’t ride with one of these I tend to

Carry a tall bottle instead as you youve probably seen from a previous video uh but some people love these uh so of course if that’s you then this may well fit perfectly uh like I say we’ve got them in a different size as well I think

There a 6 L version um and of course uh one other thing that I’ve noticed is it’s much like most dry bags it will actually inflate so because it’s watertight uh as you roll the actual um bag itself it can INF self-inflate you can probably see that already um so

That you can squeeze it and you would eventually get some air out but just bear that one in mind guys you can inflate this thing but uh absolutely brilliant thing to uh possibly shove underneath your saddle keep all your bits in it tubes your pump if it’s small

Enough um so yeah get them if you can guys take it easy thank you very much bye
