Hi everyone,
Through some bike adjustments and then observations and research, I’m looking for some clarity/real world experience regarding Canyons and there stock Canyon Wedge E201-15.
I have a rather new Endurace and the wedge sits fairly low, about 33mm . I contacted Canyon and they said these wedges are measured to 35mm deep in the steerers (so pretty spot on from my measurement).
It sits around the same height as the bottom bolt of my stem.
*Not my bike/photo linked below, but similar.*

I have also read that this wedge is not an expander plug, but provides vertical compression. It’s purpose is for headset preload.
My question is this:
* Since my fork is carbon, is this a concern? I’m a modest rider and put down hard efforts every now and then.
* Has anyone replaced there wedge with something else (I see Shimano Pro makes an expander sleeve for 1 1/4).
* If you have replaced the wedge, what was removal like?
Thank you.
