I’ve been tracking Kona Sutra’s for a few months now with the intention of buying one in the spring, and just noticed that the [“new” Sutra](https://www.konabikeshop.co.uk/sutra-2023.html) model is now cheaper than the [“old” SE](https://www.konabikeshop.co.uk/sutra-se-2023.html) model?
Before Christmas the Sutra was £1679 however is now £1364, compared to the SE which has stayed at £1399.
Are there issues with the newer model, not selling well, soon to be discontinued for example?

From my casual reading, it seems like the SE is preferred by most bike tourers. This is due to the 3x gearing of the SE being a bit better than the 2x of the sutra and the more reliable bar end shifters for the most part.
They were clearing out 2022 model Sutra in NZ$1600 or around 700 quid last year. Most of their Konas were 1/3 off (evocycles). I bought a 22 Rove LTD for A$2150 (1100 quid). Im guessing someone else took over importing Kona into NZ & the original importer just cleared all remaining stock.
Prices vary due to demand or lack of it.
Bike companies have a lot of stock. Kona was doing buy 1 get 1 free deals few months ago in Canada and US.
