Der Weltkrieg – ConSim World
http://talk.consimworld.com/WebX?extendedSearchResults@@.ee6bea9

All right uh great to see everybody oh my gosh there’s quite a few um I will get to your question in uh the weekly um head scratcher in a minute there Professor Lor I just want to quickly go through all the people here um yes uh

Yeah you were super early great to see a crispy Galactic uh yes good morning Charles Lor uh great to see you William arons from Kitchener Ontario um great to see you as well Jo Zoe dfor Brian R Smith great to see you um that’s it off

We go and uh sorry to say as well as meand Mike greetings everyone he says um so yeah um that’s it uh let’s I’ve got my notes um like I said great to see you guys uh please let me know what uh you’ve been up to especially if it’s uh

Gaming related stuff um uh the past week and what you’re going to maybe get up to this week that would be uh good to know I’m going to quickly uh put on the hold on here I’m just going to pop it on here so if you guys do take a uh

See some games um I’m sorry if I’m not reading all the comments uh guys I’ll give it one heck of a shot here I’ll try I’ll try as hard as I can um is this it yes okay so I just um like I said I’ve been trying to I’m just going to present

It so you guys can see all right there we go okay and yes you guys can see it I think I can put myself yeah that’s not too bad so like I said I wanted to um uh make a list of the World War I uh related games that everybody’s been

Playing um so far we have 25 different ones I did put in if you can see here I haven’t uh this is just the the straightup list that you guys are seeing from here um I like I said I’ve got uh like I know which people have played

Which games and so on and so forth and I’ll po put that in it’ll make you know a little bit more robust but I would like to take a look at some point and you know as it gets on so if you see some that you uh games um or you don’t

See games that you’ve played uh on here please let me know ironically the uh the derel creek tanenberg the introductory game seems to be I think there’s three different people that have played that game so far so but I wanted you guys to see there’s 25 different ones uh I did

Put in the world undone you can see here like three different versions uh but they are different enough that I thought well I might as well um pop them in so I’m gonna leave that there the first thing I do want to go uh mention and

It’s um partially with Brian R Smith and I don’t know about anybody else it’s um uh because we are starting to get some uh new people in here and I don’t know uh I’m not saying you have to obviously you can do what whatever you want um but

If there’s ever a time if anybody ever feels like a little bit intimidated or something because there’s some of us that like you know become uh more familiar with each other because we’re on every week and we’ve been chitchatting every week so there’s a bit of banter and that type of stuff um

Please don’t ever feel intimidated or whatever like just chime in anytime you want or as much as you want or as little like you don’t have to at all and I’ll give a perfect example of Brian r Smith for example I’m not going to try I’m

Probably going to screw it up after I just say I’m going to do it but for example he um helped me out uh supposedly if I can say it again uh vaj or vaj um exactly n we’re and the other thing is I was thinking about it this

Morning I was thinking um also by I’m that’s I’m not like I said I’m not trying to throw out a guilt trip on anybody like I said I just don’t want anybody because I know what it’s like I’ve been on like I know on live streams where there’s like quar of magnitude

More people and I’m like oh my god do they say anything these guys are like you know game gods and all this stuff I say something they’re gonna laugh their head off or no whatever um the other thing is is that U you know by you not contributing everybody else doesn’t get

To uh you know find out what um you may know and uh you know for and here’s the per a perfect example um is uh and yes oh my God I’m so sorry uh um Professor Lor I didn’t put in your thing here so

I’m G to put it in the banners here uh the head Professor Lor’s head scratcher of the week I’m assuming is uh April 2nd 1917 President Wilson asks Congress for a declaration of war versus Germany this is after three ships sunk on March 16th and 17th what is the date the US

Declares war on Germany oh and I was actually uh talking about this um Professor Lor uh with Zoe duor earlier in the week and I just want to say how grateful I am for these um heads scratcher of the weeks because I get the play you know what I mean I mean

Obviously with the history Heroes um who or what am I in World War I I don’t get that I don’t get that that bit of fun and trust me when I’m like I’m o for whatever I’m good God like I was saying that last week I thought San Marino was

An island it just sounds like it to me so man mik is not tell may I should I should remember this so there you go I’m going to leave that on there for now until I can go to present the screen because we’re going to go to uh a

Website that uh was suggested to me by uh Brian R Smith and I wouldn’t have known about it um I’m just going to show it to you quickly because I went again it’s going to be one of these ones that just gets sucked into like a black a

Black hole but do you see what I mean like this type of interaction this is what’s happening uh look at the book lists uh that you know that uh it’s going on and on and on and I’m thinking even some of the people that have been

On uh on this live stream and are no longer here for now or temporary whatever have sent me off on the little uh chases you know about finding out about ital uh the Italian front and so on and so forth so it’s all it’s just been oh been wonderful okay so here we

Go I’m going to present the screen if I can yeah okay I’m there so share the screen and it’s this one here so Brian R Smith um and I’m going to pop this up here please let me know if uh things are not looking good if it’s you know too

Big too small whatever so uh yeah he um said hey Chris do you know about the World War I document archive and no I didn’t uh they seem to be affiliated with uh or they’re using the same uh uh website engine or whatever but it’s because it’s the same font and coloring

That uh I know of another place but uh you can see here what you can get into I found out more about China in three minutes here I think I mentioned to Brian R Smith than I did uh than I’ve known you know in about a year and a

Half um anyways it’s in the I’ve got it in the links here uh Charles theor says free your information March the 1 State Department releases the Zimmerman Note yes and uh glad that you brought that up uh uh Professor I guess Charles DET Troy I don’t know what that to call

You will maritt says the wary wargaming Community is uh a cohesive and welcoming as a Friendly Church Fellowship or a Brotherhood of my only gret is that I did not find it earlier You’re darn right man um but here we are uh oh my gosh and that was one thing I also

Wanted to let you know about uh um uh Zoe D4 is because I know that you’re into uh finding out a bit more about the medical aspect of uh of world war of the Great War and here you go um anyways it’s just it when I was looking at it

Again this morning and went here I’m going to hide the hide the there we go um actually did that didn’t bother it too much uh yeah this is going to just suck me in like a black hole like there’s no tomorrow all right so like I said that’s in the um the

Sources and links and like I said thank you Brian R Smith and that’s that’s is uh well thank you everyone for uh the amount of information that we’re getting um yeah all right so I’ve got that let’s pop in the um you know what I really do

Miss those cards the history Heroes uh who are what am I card um uh me mik says most of the wargaming community is quite welcoming there some small Pockets that are kind of standoffish and gatekeeper yep um like everything e uh what was I gonna say oh about the cards gosh I

Missed them I don’t real I didn’t realize how much I was relying on those cards it’s almost like at the very very beginning with the live streams how much I was relying on Kale’s playthroughs and when I started realizing oh my God the playlist is about to end I’m going have

To step up my game and actually have to start doing stuff oh my gosh but uh uh I kind of ran into a a brick wall this week with the um yeah I I didn’t cheat I was going to start uh rehashing one of the history Heroes thing it was going to

Be my emergency thing but I did a half-ass one I’ll be honest with you if anybody doesn’t this will be a uh this is probably gonna be a lightning round one I would assume like it’s because the uh my uh my cluthes are just pathetic

This one uh oh uh Zoe do for earrings look great thanks actually uh is it this one yeah it’s it’s backwards the reason being is I haven’t had um I haven’t put my earrings in in so long this one’s crooker and a dog’s H leg and I could

Only get the ear the stud in the back back way to see to wiggle it so I’m hoping that having it in at least maybe somehow it’s going to straighten it out and then I could put it put it in the proper way but yeah this one went in

Okay but this one’s not very happy but that’s what you get okay so uh oh yeah the history Heroes um I’ll put it in the banner and then we’re going to go to the uh how are we doing 10 minutes in uh then we’ll go to the uh pinup um gallon

Guy of the week and yet again I’m just going to say thanks thank you me I really am enjoying them because it’s they’re sending me off into finding um uh yet again because uh what I’m also trying to do with the PIN uh G and guy

And as you can see and putting them in alphabetical order kind of get you know a before you um is that I also want to try often trying to find uh pictures that are empowering for women um you know during the Great War so and I think

I found another one that type of stuff I I don’t want it to be um uh you know oh wow look at her amazing uh body kind of thing none no no no none of that stuff may maybe that will be part of it but

You get the idea all all right so uh here’s going to be the first y here’s my fir uh the first clue for history Heroes who or what am I and um tus great to see you I hope you’re doing well please let us know what uh

You’ve been up to this week I don’t know if you’ve your paintbrush is uh still smoking from the end of the the mini War mut challenge or whatever I’m going to put that in the hold on here and and I’m going to have to make sure that

I go and grab it and pop it in the comment the comments um not looking at the right stuff there we go okay and you could and so you could see uh say much of me was farmed out who or what am I that’s your first

Clue there we go all right we got that one now we’re going to go on to uh the pin up gallon guy of the week okay so I got to go and find the picture and no one’s uh no one’s coming up with any clues yet

Eh not for sure all right and yeah okay so we’ll see if this works oops I H the wrong thing and then I can present share the screen the window boink and then I’m going to so that’s her and then I’m going to go back to the

Banners so I can put in her and this is uh uh the French four four woman in her office at the tan hunt workshops near Cal 30th of June 1917 most of the women employed were British however some were French and uh that’s her and she looks

Quite uh quite focused on her work doesn’t she I love it and she’s got the center seat I love it okay oops there’s two more comments here uh uh crispy galactics say a uh comat cows Mand Mike says oh you guys all get points though goodness graci I

Forgot about that uh Charles Ator says cows crispy Galactic ostrich crysty Galactic eggs so we do for a wheat oh William Mar says what is next uh you will pirate I can’t read that uh Gray g well I peg leg or a on your shoulder ah now I’m get now I’m getting

You William erand all right so here we go now we’re going to go into the um the William uh actually I did uh I was I have been wearing my Brody helmet but it’s not the right size I figure it out when I was looking at people wearing uh

The helmets I was like yeah I’m trying to remind myself about bike helmets as well I’m like n you’re it’s too small for me what a bummer did find out this week actually uh when I went went to the uh the members only tour actually with

Um uh with um Zoe D for uh that uh when they were looking at the he uh medical records uh it was extremely rare to see anybody over 5 foot six uh in in the Canadian ones anyways I thought that was rather interesting all right so you saw

That one and I’m going to put in the guy and you saw that oh goody you can great I don’t even have to change the thing so this guy is a strong man and he when I saw the picture even before I read the caption I went man does this

Guy look proud uh a strong man amongst the Chinese laborers at bullone uh 12th of August 1917 said he’d be able to lift a sack of oats and throw it over his shoulder with one hand I was like holy smokes um so there you go I’ll hide that

And I’m G to stop the screen because we don’t need to see that and uh Charles of tus say rice um Charles says the rules for Port Stanley fauland the font is micro bloody small very bloody small oh W okay so I’m GNA get rid of this for now I don’t even see

That I’m G to put in another clue then since you guys uh don’t know that and here’s your second clue I get tested for the first time this week who or what am I and I’m going to go and grab and I’ll put it in the

Comments and then we’re going to go off on to taking a look at my notes so we’ll make sure that I don’t go too far away from stuff Krispy Galactic says Coffee uh oh uh sorry I uh uh when somebody gets it right um I’ll let you know uh no

You’re you’re incorrect but boy oh boy and we’re gonna have to um figure out some rules at some point I was trying like uh for the point system or whatever I don’t know if like how many points you get or is like a a cascading whatever is

Zo we do for says chicken no um this is is fascinating I thought for sure it was going to get nailed right off the bat um I’m real like I’m really surprised okay uh crispy galactics say a helmet no I knew you were going to get suckered into

That too I knew it because uh when I said told you that I remember what I said oh my God I’m being a rules lawyer here I said I’ll try to put in some clues in the World War I uh image of the day I didn’t say I would and I

Didn’t why because I couldn’t come up with an effing uh fing qu uh quiz topic this week that’s why that’s the only reason why oh goodness gracious uh Charles atorus say t and it trust me so it’s not because I was being clever I was like trying to that’s my Escape

Clause to get out of it I was like well you didn’t actually say it you would so I’ll leave it there so that’s um I put it in the banners did I put in the comments I don’t think I did did I and I’ll put it

In Douglas ha loved me Mike says how about a first guess is worth a point even if wrong each subsequent wrong guess is one point yeah I was thinking there something like uh you’re you’re allowed maybe um so many guesses and after that um you can guess away but it

Doesn’t count there’s no more points for it or something and maybe also crispy Galactic is I’m learning a lot me too man you have no idea uh is um uh and maybe like if you get it like for example like crispy Galactic uh got it in the first one a first guess last

Week he he’d get all six because I usually do six clue uh six Clues so D4 says horses no uh you’re wrong sorry if I’m being uh I don’t want to do that okay here we go my God we at the clue four I’m really surprised

Um there we go uh I was kept so secret that my name was changed to water carrier for a while who or what am I and I’ll put that in the comments and then I’m going to go back into my thing here so we did the professor Lor we did

The game uh game related stuff um now we’re going to go off to the uh game related um things uh which is uh crispy Galactic uh crispy Galactic says morphine uh no uh you were wrong uh you were incorrect sorry I’m trying not to be whatever um and now we’re on to the

Fifth clue hex to heex used me as a guess for a previous who or what am I in World War I who am who or what am I a tank boom Charles Ator you did it man you did it you did it you did it well done and

Um yeah like I said it was pretty lame well I guess it wasn’t because it took a while for you guys to get it so that’s great I’ll put it in the the last one in the B uh the last clue and then I’ll we’ll maybe quickly go to the uh

Imperial War Museum’s site I just quick take a look at some pictures of tanks and then we can go off to that if you’re you know if you’re all right with that um and I’ll put that in the yep very nice Charles well done is right um so that’s my last that would

Have been my last clue my first taste of battle is at the song but I do not really get traction until combre yeah and like I said hex to hex used um used that clue a couple of weeks ago there for what the flamethrower I think it was

Um and I’m going to the comments keep hitting the WR sorry uh William says sorry Charles I got it before oh did you oh my God I didn’t see oh my God uh William Aon I didn’t see holy shoot where did I see that oh you did oh my

God I’m so sorry uh Charles yeah he I’m sorry well I’ll give you a consolation thing or whatever but I’m so sorry that yeah it wasn’t reading I’m glad you correct well it’s worth points William Aon so there you go thank you for letting us know I’m going to hide

The banner well done uh William erens well you as well Charles but um not as much okay hold on here let me go to the uh links uh my My Links text thing here okay so I can make sure that um I wanted the

Tanks oh darn it did I oh I did hold on I know where I popped it in it was in the history Heroes thing I put it on there okay there we go I’ll also uh yeah um what I was going to say Charles says no worries glad they

Got it right answer it’s better than I’ve done in a long time yeah no not that yeah um actually no you doing you’ve been doing really good man um here you go and no one’s still got your uh no one has still got your um thing okay so I’m just going to increase

The hopefully that looks all right and it looks like it did keep my whatever yeah so I just thought maybe you guys would want to take a look at uh like I said this is in the in the links uh bit there bu of different

Tanks I really like that U well I think the German tank was uh I was surprised at how little um uh German tanks there were made I think the o one of the only surviving one of their tanks is actually in Australia believe it or not it’s

Probably brought back as a war souvenir thing inama jig so what a nightmare that must have been to it wasn’t um um didn’t uh wasn’t the uh was even I think at the I don’t know if it was throughout the whole War if they ever got it even somewhat better

But I think a lot of the uh the lot of the tank Crews didn’t they actually uh crispy Galactic says March of 1917 uh I guess for you Professor Lor um what was gonna say is that I think like didn’t the tank Cruise or something like they actually had to like take a

Like um a lot of time off in between shifts or whatever just because they were getting like just sick from the fumes and so on and so forth uh Brian R Smith says US Senate approved the resolution on April 4th and Congress formally approved the Declaration on

April 6th and Wilson signed it that day boom I’ll put it in the I can uh show your thing there you go right on um so we did that I wanted to let’s go to the link so I want to make sure that I’ve uh

So we did the shout out um that puts me out crisy Galactic says uh so this one was another one from uh I can’t remember the the person’s name uh they recommended the World War I uh TV thing on YouTube and I’m going to pop it in

The thing here hold on I got to get rid of that one and then uh man Mak says much quicker than I thought my aging memory uh Brian Smith says but when did the US declare war against Austria Hungary and Professor Lor confirms your

Uh your thing um hold on here I got to get to the links there we go is this here so Um uh it’s too bad um which mall it isn’t here today uh wardrobe plays World War II um reason being here I’m going to show it to you is so I watched this episode and I’m going to hide the banner there we go so I watched this episode on

Uh uh it’s on heg um from the World War One TV thing and the neat thing is that she interviews uh Peter Hart and uh that is somebody that uh the book that um um the Great War book that uh wardrobe plays World War II was looking at which

I thought was kind of uh kind of interesting and oh my gosh is he a character and a half uh that was uh quite interesting I don’t know if you guys have uh know of of it um or you know know more I I know a little tiny

Bit I’m trying to clue in but uh Peter Hart mentions that until they clued in on how to uh do the all arms battle and that wasn’t in I guess until 1918 or whatever uh that the War uh the Great War was going to continue the way it it

Was kind of thing uh they he also mentioned something about I don’t know who it was but that someone had I mean he was being or whatever but he’s probably pretty close trying to tell you how long it would take about the um the bite and hold philosophy of of how to um

Uh win the you know win the war that way and they said it was a good way to do it if you had almost unlimited resources uh and but they said you you would probably the onun probably would have made it to Berlin in uh the mid

2000s at that rate I was like oh my God uh William AR says yes USA came into the Great War after halim just as they would in World War II oh my gosh oh my gosh okay so I’m gonna I just I sometimes I I try to read it read

Between the lines with you William ER is what I’m trying to say uh what else did I want oh yes this one I think uh really H thought uh you guys would uh be interested and seeing um so there’s it’s not out yet uh but the exhibit’s coming

Um they gave us a little sneak peek uh hold on I want to make sure that it’s at uh it’s nice and big this is at the gosh man I’m telling you if I lived anywhere near Kansas City I’d be going there a lot the national World War I Museum in

Memorial so they have this um this exhibits about to pop up the little war and it looks really darn good um I’m just taking a quickie look at the things here U look at her way down there um is anyways yeah um I gosh I’d really

Like to go I took a I took a quickie peek in uh sailor Tommy that looks really neat but uh down here this nursery rhymes uh you can actually uh purchase a re uh well it’s it’s a republishing not a reproduction of this book but uh I went and took a look to

See if I could uh get a copy of uh nursy ryms for fighting times and sure enough I can so you know here you go Humpty Dumpty hammered they all Humpty Dumpty had a big fall all the king’s horses and all the king’s men can’t take Kaiser

Billy to Paris again I was like are you kidding me I’ve I so would love to have this book goodness gracious me so um anyways yeah I thought uh you guys would want to take a look and like I said nope there’s yeah when I saw this I was also

Thinking of Zoe do for when I saw the the girls Red Cross smok and cap I was like Wow Neato all right got that one done uh this guys so this is from uh that book the subject bibliography if I can find it where are you you little brat

There you are oh no I wanted to show you this quick quickly quickly then we’ll go to the subject bibliography uh thing so this painting uh was at um well it’s there right now is at uh I got to get rid of me for this for sure there we go and

I’ll make sure that you’re nice and blown up oh we are at 150 um I think I can well here we’re going to go to the thing here it says here uh it was called it’s now called well it is called the the conquerors uh Zoe duor is NE uh

Kilted Canadians at the 16th Battalion some depicted as pale ghosts March through a destroyed battlefield of broken battles skeletal remains and informal Graves Eric Kennington originally titled his work the victims and after showing uh in Canada led to objections about the title from the battalion’s Commanding Officer leftenant

Colonel uh Sai Pac Kennington named it the conquerors and this uh this is this painting is at um uh uh I got to see it at well anybody can see it at in gallery 2 of uh the Canadian war museum and I was glad to go because well uh I

Wouldn’t have known uh that those pale Figures were ghosts I had no clue uh so I was really really uh really happy to be able to go there and uh for the um the presenter to mention that so I wanted to show you this one it just

Knocked my socks off so that book one of the books that I picked up when I was there um the subject bibliography of the Great War um one of the and we going to go to page 24 can I do that I don’t know how to do it uh so

We’re just going to go to 24 it’s the one I want to show you anyways well as you oops you can see here now and I was like hey man let’s go and take a look at the subject bibliography you guys can see that I want to make sure it’s good

Okay uh let’s get nice and big I wanted you to see this so there’s one but and like I said you just go around taking a look at the subjects and and I was like Hey I want to see what uh it’s pretty I know it’s oh there we go

Okay so I just needed to voice in so I saw one book and it was called uh strategic camouflage and I went what in the world are you kidding me and so I just took a look and uh well you can see anybody can read this it’s at the

Internet archive but the amount of information that goes into this and uh look at this relative tone values all in black and why oh I was just like this is this is so up my alley and yet again it was something that I said uh one of the

Topics I was kind of like just a little bit uh I wanted to chitchat with you guys about was maps and I thought okay that uh when I saw that one I was like oh my gosh for flipping sure now on a side note we’re going to

Go and it’s a bit about what you were saying there Charles atoro when you mentioned about the Zimmerman thing is one of the uh one of the talks that uh uh I uh I attended there last week um there goody you guys can see that still was from the world war one historical

Association and uh the guest speaker was Herbert von Philz or something I can’t pronounce his name he anyways thank God he goes by Harry and they were doing uh he was doing with someone else um some information Charles Lor says December 7th us declares war in Austria cool

Thank you uh Professor Lor and I’ll put you put it there uh there um anyways so the the talk was about uh uh I guess it was called The Bureau of Investigations back then uh not the Federal Bureau of Investigations anyways it’s just about uh the Germans and uh their attempts on

Uh trying to get uh the Americans and the Mexicans essentially to uh focus on each other and certainly get the Americans to not focus on what’s going on in Europe um you it was really good I’m not going to get into it uh because we got a bazillion other things we’re

Already 30 minutes 30 minutes in there so I’ve got that done uh this is uh like I said about uh since wanted to chitchat about maps with you guys I’ve mentioned this uh website a few months ago um it’s called hex tml it’s a free um online uh

There you that’s not too bad I still want to kind of see you a weirdo way um okay I’ll bump you up to 150 there we go uh so it’s a free site um the beautiful thing is you make all looks a bit whatever um you can customize all

These things I know it’s more for role playing oriented stuff but when I was uh trying to uh uh do a better version of The Spence and Gable uh tannenburg game I thought hey why not go go away you silly Bugger I thought why not um you

Know use this for uh for the and it was it’s been fun you can I can um anybody can save their uh their work and so on and so forth so like I said it’s in the I popped it in the uh the link if you

Want to take a look at it at some point in time um like if it interest you now this uh yet again because of the one of the chitchat about Maps I have not read the yes I’ve downloaded this twice over the over the past few months the the

Only thing that sucks about uh I find the um the encyclopedia here uh their website it’s really slow uh and there some days it’s just painful um but I put this in as well I thought maybe some of you guys would uh be interested in finding out about maps and whatnot

Especially here where it says after the first world war the general staffs and Military geographers of all the European nations agreed that the war at the front but also at home had led to a geographical Turn of Mind the experience of static Warfare had fundamentally changed the demands placed on

Geographical knowledge and the ways in which he was represented the map as a medium grew in importance but it also posed new challenges for armies ushering in a process of professionalization and ultimately leading to both the medium and the body of knowledge on what which it was based

Seeping into post-war Society I was like wow I just something I wanted to read and I wanted to share with you guys okay so we got that one done oh this one I thought I haven’t looked at it either but I thought oh boy this looks interesting it’s 18 minutes long for

Goodness sakes I was like are you serious something like that I was like woof we begin in the middle of the 19th century I oh uh please let me know if you can hear that I hopefully can in Europe the rise of nationalism undermines the dominant put that in

There and I thought wanted you guys wanted to go through um the whole you know the whole ship Bang there you are uh now we’re going to go off to the atlas map so I’m going to stop sharing this for now um because I did uh uh so all these ones

You’re going to see are scans from The Martin Gilbert um first world war thank you Zoe D4 for letting me know that you could hear it um I forgot to put all the copyrights in there so or what or a watermark but I mean shoot me uh you

Know this we’re not doing this uh for money for goodness sakes this is just you know to share so I wanted you guys to see um well this stuff oh good so I’m going to present because like I was saying we’re going through so much stuff we’re

Talking about so many places and I don’t know about you guys I need to know like I have th you know things contextualized I need to put things so hopefully you guys can see that nice and whatever so I just uh grabbed uh crispy Galactic says links in community please uh okay crispy

Galactic if you go to the um if you go to the act on YouTube and go into the description in my in the actual whatever uh for the live stream for live stream LS 062 or whatever that it’s called go down I I hopefully have provided all

These links and I uh have like a standard set every week and then um uh I switched the bottom bits will be specific for that uh for that live stream um so you’ll see yeah if you get the idea so hopefully they’re in there if they’re not for the love of God let

Me know um so there we go and you guys can see this nicely hopefully so uh uh thanks uh chrisy Galactic says so here’s the first one I thought well my goodness we’re talking about this enough times aren’t we um so um here we are I’m gonna

Want there we go so um there’s one and there is the thing I love this bit here uh the British advance from baser towards Baghdad was made with inadequate supplies and no proper plan of campaign resulting in a Turkish victory at uh Tesson in November 1915 the British then

Then retreated to cut where they were besieged by the Turks The Siege lasted 5 months the relieving Force Was Defeated three times by the Turks the Turks refused a British offer of2 million pounds imagine what that is nowadays to set the Garrison free of the 10,000 British and Indian troops who

Surrendered over 6,000 died in the desert while prisoners of War holy smokes I thought like I said I want to help uh well help all of us out trying to figure out where all these places are um where was that place there I thought oh hoped for Russian Advance uh from the

Caspian that never came that was that thing remember a few weeks ago when I was that’s what Set It Off partially when I was like wait a minute I don’t even remember uh the Russians uh in Persia what the hell’s going on here um

So there we got that one done uh so here and we know this is going to be happening uh they’re done well my God in a couple of weeks that’s going to uh start up I think uh verdana 1916 so um oh gosh I wish it could have done um a

Little thing to find out how how to convert that into hexes um okay so indel Creek one hex is 20 kilometers and as far as I know one uh what is it that would be 12 and a half miles I think so when we start if that helps you ever out

When we start getting into the war summary stuff and they start popping in things if you want to uh convert it into devel cig land um so there you go look so you know I found this interesting is remember uh so Veron 1916 is the German

Offensive um and I guess this is one of the few times uh that you’ll that I’ve seen uh where the uh the attacker is not uh uh having more losses than uh the defender which I find rather interesting so there you go and then attempt to seize these forts the

Germans used a new and more powerful gas I guess that must be the fos Gene gas I’m assuming um because they’ve already used chlorine this one blew me away Lor’s passing uh every 14 seconds day and night along the road ensured that VD received sufficient men and materials to

Withstand the massive German attack in five months over 23 million shells were fired by two sides um interestingly enough yet again like I was saying uh the Wesley Liv SA um uh the great the history of the Great War podcast uh this one’s episode 65 part three for Veron uh he’s awesome

Just fantastic oh my God and on a side not too bad uh Clark Commando uh 1983 isn’t here either is that uh he had mentioned in one of his uh book Things uh he was showing his uh great war books and one of them they picked up was from

Alexander Watson the ring of fire about um austr Hungarian and um German troops I guess and uh from their side and uh in the late in the P pod I mean these are these were done Years Ago by Wesley Liv say and he mentions the Ring of uh the

Ring of the Ring Of Steel I was like oh my God this is so cool that you know here we are talk yeah I just thought I just I just love that type of stuff so we’ll go to the next one here and here’s the psalm so this is the

British offensive connected with the French and of course this is going to happen this uh this uh this year and I just thought maybe you know uh and I don’t know if I’m I maybe if I put watermarks or something funky on this I’ll have to meandry Mike seems to know

A lot more about the copyright and all this stuff uh I know it’s about you know fair you or whatever I’m not out to make money but I’d love to let people see this for example crispy Galactic if you want to take a look later but I don’t

Know if I’d get into trouble about that type of stuff but uh there you go where’s that place there’s one oh maybe it’s the other place in ver down there uh yes Mount Duo but uh so there you go I thought um on the first day of the

Battle July 1 German Advance U German machine guns often hidden in armored and placements prevented any British gains 20,000 British troops were killed on that day amounting to 60 % of all the officers and 40% of all the men engaged the battle continued fiercely for five months and included the first use of

Tanks by the British in September cool all right I’m not going to read the whole thing mind you it wasn’t the deadliest battle for the British I think the deadliest battle was the Battle of loss that happened uh in the fall of 1915 I think he had a better chance to

Get a nailed uh in the Battle of loss than he did here I mean more people died the battle of the S I think there’s another one I’m really happy that we I will say this though when we go to take a look at the map I’m not a happy camper

With the way they did the map um you’ll see what I mean I’m like why like like I just think they should not have used color for the the water and then color for land as well either see they mean they’ve got clear for I understand where they’re going with this but it’s

Difficult I think to distinguish for me uh you I mean sometimes I was like thank God you put the agnc like you actually wrote it in um to prevent Greece joining the Central Powers the French and British blockaded the Greek ports and occupied thes in December 1916 an angl

French Landing party attempted to seize uh key positions in Athens but was repulsed number five on there remember uh you were talking about it there um Professor Lor I think was actually your very first uh head scratcher of the week was about the Arab Revolt when it started uh if I’m not

Mistaken uh British help uh to the Arab Revolt included political encouragement Medical Aid Naval support in the Red Sea air attacks on Turkish Supply roots and British military personnel including Lawrence of Arabia I was really amaz well maybe not because it’s so open but uh air um uh air reconnaissance was

Massive massive um oh my God this week I’m telling you uh looking at the um what was going on this week talk about a week of Zeppelins there was more Zeppelin raids and you should get stick at this week uh they um there was raids

In salonica uh way the heck up uh in uh uh up in um in the Midlands in England uh two nights in a row on Paris uh and there’s a lot of deaths man a lot well I think mostly in England but holy moly

And the last one I wanted to show was uh when also connected on the flip side uh is uh the blockade uh food riots in Germany in 1916 and there’s a ton um a ton look at that number of deaths attributed to the blockade and it just skyrockets cities in which food riots

Broke out during 1916 the British blockade led to a severe food shortage in Germany as a result riots were frequent and workers were often granted extra r passs to induce them to work uh there was one another thing so I’m going to stop the screen for now um was that

Uh when I watched that YouTube thing there on uh the SS wolf there that uh that Merchant Raider that had that uh that plane on it remember it kept picking up people left right and Center went all the way to Australia and back and they never thought it would make it

Uh I remember uh and one of them actually ended up becoming a communist poet uh one of the the uh the German um dudes uh that uh normal normal soldiers and just the disparity of like how good the officers were eating even though these guys were uh AB actually having

Scurvy and whatnot I’m was just like my God just amazing all right so we got that one Uh did that one I did that one I did that one we’re actually oh my God 15 minutes in holy smokes we better uh ZIP off to uh the that was and all that stuff it makes more sense to me okay and then we’re going share the screen but I

Have to PO put in something here first hold on here hold on here there we go um there we go you guys can see that good uh so this is the week that was that happened and like I said you um I noticed um what I noticed quite of often

Was the Zeppelin rates and when I was reading um what was going on this week as well just the uh I’m still having a hard time like I’ve said before uh wrapping my head around the fact that of how many planes uh were already in the

Air by now oh my gosh on a side note uh this book if you guys uh can snag it the storm of Steel book it is a Dandy uh I think I mentioned that as well but already in April of 1915 when he’s talking about it uh they’re mentioning

That they’ve got to be like take uh take for cover uh from French planes and so on and so forth I was like whoa already like things are ramping up um so there we go let’s uh quickly go off to this and then I can zip off to the um we can

Take a look at the summary yet again we uh maybe I’ll just read a couple of the notes bit and then we can go from there but at least that now hopefully maybe with the the the maps um like I said at some point it would be great to have uh

This text and a map off to the side I think we were doing it way back when when I was doing with the D cre uh uh Maps but uh here we go um yep the onon Occupy kabon salonica despite Greek protest uh the Americans are not uh not

Impressed with uh the British um searching Parcels um that one I thought was a bit of a like what in the world uh the protest uh against the closing of London museums just talk about strange um Russians bombard the protecting her zum um and the caucuses there uh renewed fighting on the strea

And in bavina the German offensive and Don Perry on Don Pierre South of the S uh there we go the the Zeppelin raids there um that’s it yeah look at that 70 killed man holy Moses and that the I want to find out it’s um the aom or uh it’s this uh uh

Ship that uh the Germans uh took and uh it’s mentioned repeatedly even when I was taking a look at the German uh newspaper article uh thing so I’m going to get rid of this and then I can hold on I got to go and get the pictures then

We can go to the war summary and take a quickie look okay oops is uh yeah in the German of course I can’t read German but I mean I uh can I saw the word p and so on and so forth it’s neat though I’m trying to parse I’m

Looking going okay I can I can see that I can see that you know like mean but that’s it you know just the odd little word okay sorry there we go there all right so I’m going to hide this and yeah we’ll go quickly here because we’re into 10 minutes

Left uh so to a proper understanding of the battle of the trench is now going on the southwest of Lans I don’t know how to pronounce that hopefully maybe Brian R Smith he’s still around he could probably help us in Northwestern France it must be remembered that when the Germans

Retreated after the battle of the mar they had laid their plans to hold the coal mining iron working and textile manufacturing regions entering uh centering around Lil um touring Lawns and Bon I guess this was the equivalent of seizing and holding Lancashire and Yorkshire in England so it’s quite a bit

There uh for many months the French fought daily to drive the Germans from the height of lorett and in June of last year they succeeded posted strongly almost 500 feet above the plane on which LW stands it seemed to the French commanders that a rapid sweep Eastward

Was possible which would give the Allies possession of Ls and the coal mining region and ultimately of Lil and the textile Factory towns around it progress was not so rapid as anticipated what is known as the Battle of loss fought in September enabled the the British on the

North side of Ls to get within easy artillery range of the town but the French were not so fortunate okay I don’t want to lose out on too much stuff here uh their success has been of the most meager sort by the explosion of Mines

Sorry I got to drink a bit of water here on the form of at La where the ground light itself to mining operations they made craters in front of the French positions which they at once filled with men the French say in yesterday’s report that they are now

Occupying these craters in which the enemy obtained a footing and have found them in numerous bodies of Germans and one Machine Gun N uh William Aon says uh nangu are you going to post the German report somewhere on your site so I could help oh yes uh yes thank you um

Certainly um I know I got halfway there and I didn’t um or a little bit there the pressure upon General Townsen at Kel Amara lessons it is officially announced that the Turks have evacuated their trenches on the land side of the defenses of the town and have retired

Retired to new positions about a mile from the British entrenchments the floods may have had something to do with this move General Almer in commander of the army advancing to the relief of K alamara reports that there is no change in the situation the available men in in great Britain are

Still flocking to the colors yep the last organized resistance of the montenegrin troops has ceased with the surrender of General uh vukovich and several other General officers at D Dan linrad but the montenegrin national spirit is not extinguished and will flame up all the more fiercely because of the temporary Austrian Triumph

Captain sovich the consul general of Montenegro New York yor who visited Toronto yesterday resents bitterly the reports from it Italy that his people did not resist the austrians as strongly as they might have done the French and British midnight official reports uh record continued activity in the region

Of Ls the Germans tried to retake the craters at Newville from which they had been expelled but failed the German artillery was active east and north east of L of loss and the British exploded a mine near gishi um what else the attack on salonica is about to begin the fifth Turkish

Army that which held the Dell’s positions has been ordered to the Greek Frontier the bulgars as a result of the conference with the emperor William at nich remember we were just uh saw him a couple weeks there have decided to take the part in the campaign with the aid of

The Turks and bulgars the Germanic forces now in the Balkans will it is believed to be a be able to invest the city effectively the movement of the Austrian Army which conquered Montenegro to the Southward through Albania is intended to occupy the country east of avona so that the Italians and serbs

Will not be able to strike at the right flank of the army of inv investment across the Albanian mountains the conquest of Albania and the occupation of the territory around Alona will be the signal for the opening of the main Germanic offensive against salonica where are we here okay good

Enver pasia has been talking freely about the plans of the Germanic Powers once the Balkan campaign is victoriously ended he says the Germans will strike a terrible blow on the Western Front the Turkish offensive against the Suez Canal I love this bit and against India I mean

I loved it because it’s it’s when I read it I was like okay it’s getting into my Narrative of what I want to do for my game I was like cool the tur a Turkish offensive against the Suz canal and against India’s delayed by the lack of every sort of supplies but with

Germany’s Aid this contingency will soon be met then says says Enver our armies will March we intend to sweep every Englishman out of Egypt and then Annex that country Enver would do all of this if he could but it is a big contract um major morat another

Talkative individual I love the way they they they just throw that in uh I’m just gonna leave that there yeah we’ll just leave that there uh the reports from Paris and London as to operations on the Western Front still emphasize the artillery actions the Germans yesterday made an infantry

Attack on a Salient of the British Line near loss but were driven back between loss and labas Canal the German guns were specially active and the British retaliated damaging the enemy’s trenches in many places Berlin states that the French attacked the German trenches near nville with hand grenades but failed to

Penetrate them and it is asserted lost heavily oh yeah uh you know what sucks williiam aens I just wish they didn’t use the crazy font it’s so difficult the German font there a remarkable claim is made by the Germans as to the res just yet again I’m like look this is what I

Meant by I’m still having a hard time get wrapping my head around the fact of how many airplanes were going around a remarkable uh claim is made by the Germans as to the result of aerial Warfare on the Western Front since October 1st they have lost they say only

15 machines while the French and British have lost 63 including 11 which were forced to land presumably from engine trouble trouble or similar causes uh yeah we’re nowhere near uh not even going to get close the British war office announces that the attack upon the Arabs on the Northwestern Frontier

So that’s the suusi uh Frontier of Egypt last Sunday was a complete surprise and that the enemy sustained a severe defeat which has greatly discouraged the local bedin they are now deserting the seni and returning East to their homes the austrians are reported to be making most extensive preparations to hold their

Present lines a few miles to the east of certz in bukovina and yeah he talks they talk about how it’s uh very similar to uh the way they’re starting to entrench along the western front uh the Russia the Russians continue their sweep in Armenia and in Persia the Rome official report tells of

Prolonged and fierce struggles along the aanso where Thrice I just love that word the austrians tried to dislodge the Italians from their positions by infantry attack the amazing force of the frequent mine explosions on the Western Front around Newville where the German offensive C centers is this illustrated

By a statement in the midnight French official report that 150 German bodies were counted in one of the craters we recaptured um in pursuance of their Mur murderous policy of slaughtering non-combatants the Germans attacked Paris on Saturday night from above goodness gracious me yeah don’t editorialize it is difficult

I going right by that one as well because I have to bite my tongue um while the Germans were attacking Paris by by air their infantry on the Western Front was hurling itself against the French trenches German William Aon says German script is not that difficult to read if you familiarize yourself with

Its idiosyncrasies thank you for letting me know and I’m glad to hear that because we like I said we’ll be putting you to work uh while the Germans were attacking Paris by air their infantry in the Western Front was hurling itself against the French trenches south of the

S uh three minutes in the Newville uh region also between ARA and L there has been great activity that there the Germans claim that they have taken almost a mile of the French first line trenches dispatches from Athens state that the Turkish authorities have fled from aserum and that the Russians are

Now surrounding the city which is still strongly held it is announced in London that s pery lake has joined the relief Expedition which is now making its way up the Tigress of the Zeppelin raid over the English Midlands in eastern C count uh counties last night no details are yet

Are available but we already know there was like 70 dead7 uh injured or something H hex says I’m here I’m here I’m here great to see you uh well for two minutes anyways it is wonderful to see you and actually hex to hex you were part of the clues in uh

History Heroes who what am I in world War I uh today Believe It or Not uh the Russian war office announces that operations of the past two weeks in the caucuses have Justified expectations the Turkish Center and right wing have been hurled back over over a region of 40

Miles so what the hell is that 40 miles remember I told you uh 12.5 miles is one hex so what is that uh uh what um two forget it I’m I’m getting in a loop along the front in European Russia uh there has been greatly increased German artillery activity particularly

In the Ria Vin sector uh the German attacks on the banks of the S and at Newville have ceased uh Berlin claims that the ground recently captured is firmly held another of the significant straws which indicate the direction of the current comes in the form of a dispatch from Burn

Switzerland it states that at the austan Village of Haw just across the frontier mil Ary ORD been received for the delivery of the larger church bells and copper so they can start making armaments while the enemy’s stores of Munitions and of raw materials for the making Munitions decrease almost

Everywhere returning from the Western Front who is in a position to know speaks of the growing reserves of projectiles behind the lines of the Allies uh William a says 40 miles is approximately 62 kilometers thank you that’s uh three derel Creek axes thank you um I will say this uh Wesley live

Say on the history of the Great War podcast uh in like I said part two ver done mentions that um they were bringing in two and a half million artillery the just the Germans for the Fifth Army uh two and a half million artillery shells a week into their into their artillery

Depots required over 200 trains and that was only one fif of all their logistical headaches they had to deal with with that I’m like holy Jesus Christ uh here’s something that mey Mike would appreciate with um uh letto vorbeck game uh British control of Lake Tona on the

Western frontier of German East Africa will Pro will prove of great importance in the campaign about to begin for the sub subjugation of that Colony uh yep I’m I’m the United Kingdom will not be nearly at the end of reserves of Manpower when the single man blah we

Know what’s going to happen British war office is issued a denial of the Turkish official report regarding a victory near Kera on the lower Tigers yeah well it they did uh the Zeppelin raid over the English Midlands yep we already found out about that uh German purpose of was

The destruction of munition factories and shipping and supposedly they did they um yeah they talk about a bicycle Factory that was converted into uh making cars and things and uh like some to me just sound like obviously there’s a lot of uh yeah we’re going to stop

Because there’s just no bloody way uh Ash is almost no we’re going to stop because I’m over yeah we’ll just go over quickly there was naturally been a call for more thorough defensive Arrangements along the coast after the Zeppelin raids from Rome comes dispatches stating that Romania will take take the field I’m

Glad it didn’t stop uh we’ll take the field and March on the side of the Allies the London Times correspondent at petrograd says that the defeated Turkish troops which have now taking shelter behind the forts of vuram appear doomed to fabin and inactivity uh the Germans continue to magnify the result of

Operations on the Western Front so that the Berlin crowds will receive the bulletins from the battlefields with res resounding whoa I guess I don’t know how to say that um and Douglas Hig yet again talking about here more more trench raids uh Paris midnight statement tells of another German attempt to pierce the

French lines German’s Colonial possessions dwindle daily remember this we were talking about him General doell way back when uh in Cameroon the Canadian that came in after uh because the Brits thought they were going to get uh it was going to be like togoland all over again and they got

Their arses kicked at the very very very beginning uh the capture of the British West African lighter a aam that’s that thing I was telling you about I don’t know too much about but I’d like to find out more about is between seasons on the Western Front the worst of the winter is

Over the day length and noticeably the um the crocus and the snow drop begin to push their way up the sunlight that was something that blew me away too uh uh reading some reports uh a lot of the people along the trenches do talk uh in their notes um about seeing wild flowers

And so on and so forth growing in no man’s land and uh whatever it you know it just amazing uh local engagements and even partial advances continue the British official report the last night stated that the Germans attacked the British position along the e pilin Road

Uh details of the capture of the aom and a number of other briti British V vessels uh there we go uh the war on the border of bukovina has become an affair of trenches and mines that was it I I I mentioned that earlier

And I got I got got it on the wrong page sorry so this is the one where they were talking about uh mentioning that it’s now starting to look like the Western Front that the defensive is likely to become the The Settle policy of the enemy on the Eastern Front is born out

Blah blah blah uh the hesitation observable in proceeding with the attack with salonica is due to the fear of unduly thinning the lines of the Germanic Powers a reader of the war summary asks why Britain does not meet Zeppelin raids and you they go on about

Well a little late now kind of thing and they they put all their eggs in well they’re going towards airplanes and other things um the Germans are said to be uh hard at work perfecting airplanes of their own now I want to find out if the fuer scourge has already occurred uh

Someone probably knows um because that kind of to me sounds like the fuer Scourge here uh XX Chris you do an audiobook for us uh the the news from Africa continues uniformly good the cameroons general dbel but I do want to get Zoe duor to do

Some of this I think would be great so that’s it um yeah like I would like to find out about it is the fuer scourge with that the IND Decker I think I is it now I I don’t know I will say this is that um okay and then we’ll end it

Because we’re oh my God four minutes pass and I swear to God that’ll be it I’m just going to show you my the BGG game of the week that I was uh starting to to remember about doing and I went my God are you kidding me well I wanted to

Show it because I’m like you wait till you see who the game designer is I was like whoa okay I’m just going to look at the look who the publisher is the Italian Air Force Ministry I’m got to put there so that we can see that

Isn’t that wild that’s it I just wanted you guys to see that uh and I’ll stop that because we’re way past uh whatever thank you so much guys uh um yet again like I’ve said um it’s so motivating hopefully this is uh helping you guys out as well um I’ll

Yes Willie aens I will uh chrisy Galactic says greeting for thank you so much oh thank you sir um yeah I’ll make sure that it gets posted um in the community thing Mig like I said uh what I’m going to end up having to do is

Start using my uh um uh my national capital freet account uh more so and start posting stuff there that way it’ be great hex says hockey hockey Allstar Weekend oh really um uh crispy Galactic would know quite a bit about that hex to hex um he’s a winipeg Jets fan so you

Guys can do that thank you Brian R Smith uh thank you everyone I’m I’m just gonna let I’m gonna stop now because we’re way way way past okay thanks again I hope to see you uh next week and hope you guys have a great week bye
