  1. The rotor bolts have ridges that lock into them when they tighten.

    If in doubt look the code up on si.shimano

  2. They are like washers, they help to make sure that none of the screws can loosen once they are all tightened to the right torque. If you already put the rotor on you messed up

  3. Sit between the bolt heads and the rotor as a form of retention device to stop loose screws. Dab of threadlock (unless the bolts are already treated) won’t go amiss either.

    Be aware that they are sided – “TOP” should be visible when fitting the bolts.

  4. I just installed my new rotors and left them off. Haven’t ridden with it yet, but I’ve gone a lot of years with only the manufacturer dry loctite and never had a problem. Torque them and check them after a few rides.
