Is that a [Shimano Sora medium cage derailleur](https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/sora-r3000/RD-R3000-GS.html)? Shimano derailleurs have the part number stamped on the inward-facing part of the parallelogram. If you get behind the bike and pull it back, you should be able to read it. Google the part number.

SS is short cage
GS is medium cage.
There should be a code on the rear such as RD-3500 GS.
