I have an e bike elops 940e with a broken left side screw in its side stand(takes two)
I am unable to unscrew it due to broken head which Is lost.
I have tried an old drill to put a hole in center but instead I suspect I was risking to damage the threads (see attached)

Left hand drill bits! “These bits are left handed meaning the flutes run in the opposite direction (counter clockwise). Left hand drills are used to remove broken bolts, screws, and studs just like an easy out.”
Is there a place to rent expensive drill bits? I dont want to buy professional gear for one time use
Stud remover (drill into the bolt shank that remains there, see if the removerit grabs enough).
When that doesn’t work you’ve got a nice pilot hole. Following that tap the thread.
Or go to your lbs and give them money.
You could buy a clamp-on stand, and clamp it on in the same place as the old one.
Cut a slot in it with a thin cutting disc and use a large slotted screwdriver to unscrew itÂ
Unscrew the other bolt and take the stand off so that you can see the stub of the bolt. If the stand has not been on very long, you should be able screw the bolt stub out quite easily.
If the bolt has been on a long time and the steel of the bolt has reacted with the aluminium, stud extractors are unlikely to get it out. Probably best drilling out so that just the threads are left, then pulling the threads out (requires precision). Or get a Helicoil kit.
You could drill out the head part with a bit that is the same diameter (m5/6 most likely) and the head will fall off. Once both bolt heads are off you can take the kickstand off and then use vice grips to grab and turn the bolt nub.
