Thank you for the feedback from my [last post](https://www.reddit.com/r/whichbike/comments/1agme6l/old_schwinn_worth_it_for_first_road_bike/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) on r/whichbike, I dodged a bullet.

I’ve got two in my sights for consideration, both from suggested brands:

[1985 Trek 600 asking $300](https://imgur.com/a/p49fdMW)

&

[Fuji Sports 12 asking $149](https://imgur.com/a/TEedkzc)

Not many details on the Trek, but Fuji Sports 12 seems to be a restore with these details:

“Well built , super strong road bike in excellent condition , like new, little usage , kept indoors. All my bikes are tuned, lubed and ready to ride. Hand lugged frame not seen on many model of bikes. All quality components, Japanese Suntour Derailleurs. and top mount for easy quick gear shifting , Power stopping quality brakes, Strong frame and wheels, will perform and last a long time if taken good care of! Original tires , like new. Google “ Bike Czar” Price $ $245 My price $149.”

Help a newbie out again?

Info & Use Case:

* First real road bike.
* Commuting to work/gym in Washington, DC (under 3 miles)
* 5’11, 30″ inseam

  1. i personally would avoid both. you can find trek bikes in bette4 condition 20 years younger for this price.

    fuji is a decent price and condition but, its was outdated. you will need additional tools to maintain it. it uses stem shifting which isnt great.

    if youre willing to spend 300 you should be able to find early 2000 bikes
