  1. Edit: there’s a list of 650a tires on Sheldon Brown. Most aree sold out. Would love to know if I could put other tires on this rim.

    The current ones have flat spots from being in storage for years.

    No an MTB 26″ has a bead seat diameter of 559mm, this tyre has a bead seat of 590mm (650A is an almost defunct tyre size).

  3. 26×1 3/8 is the tire size. 650A is the same. The 590 is the important number. Schwalbe marathon plus comes in that size.

    Some old Raleigh or Schwinn bikes used this size. It’s still around but only in street/townie type tires. Ask at a couple lbs for an old 3 speed type tire, with 590 iso. Most employees should know what that means, or know enough to look it up. A shop that does more city/commuting/vintage stuff would be my starting point.
