Went back to 2x on my trusty hard tail gravel smasher. Never thought I’d go back but it definitely makes more sense. I think I would like the gear spacing of SRAM XPLR cassette for 1x in this case but my chainstays limit to a 34t in 1x setup, mayyybbbeee possibly a 36t if I cheated the chain line out a little but that would also give me issues with my XC wheelset that won’t take an XPLR cassette and I already had most of the 2x parts in the bin so 2x it is! Will probably end up at 38/28 x 10-42 (11sp). 11 speed 2x GX actually seams like a pretty good setup for gravel.
