I was gifted a 1987 Univega Nuovotech 450 from a friend. It is in decent shape but hasn’t been serviced in a long time. I’m buying the tools and researching the services. I’ve already service the freewheel and rear hub.
But what the heck are this… Arms, levers, whatever? Are they original? Do I even need them? Are they supposed to hold the front axle in place while you grab the QR skewer? Are they a mount for a basket/fender?
My Google Fu has failed me (Taekwon-google?). Help me, O-bike-won Kenobi, you’re my only hope!

They’re a fail safe in case the axle comes loose. There should be a corresponding button/bolt on the inside of the fork leg that they snap into.
