Would appreciate any guidance. Currently on the Great North Trail in the UK which has been very wet and muddy. A week in with only 3 days to go. A week prior to this, I was on a 4 week tour on the GDMBR. So my Kona Honzo ESD has had a bit of a workout recently.
While riding I noticed the collar of my dropper post had randomly migrated upwards, exposing this white plastic shim (see picture). It got worse over the day and the white plastic was almost completely exposed. I was unable to slip the white plastic back down which would enable me to screw the collar back down. When I removed the white plastic I was able to. I am not using the dropper at the moment as I am short and have a seat pack.
I think it will probably hold for the couple of days I have remaining, but I have never seen this before with a dropper and wonder if anyone has any ideas about how to repair it or whether it’s a bike shop job. Also yes I know the bike is filthy – I hose it down whenever I can but this track is the muddiest I’ve ever ridden!
Thanks!!
