I have a Carbon Hardtail MTB that has had a small crack on the seatpost since I bought it in used in 2020. (The bike is a 2016). I honestly forgot about it until today when I was cleaning it. Is there something I can put on this for some piece of mind or is expensive carbon repair my best bet? I have it set up more as a gravel bike as an XC hardtail is a terrible bike for MTB trails in CO.

Is that really the carbon or just the paint?
If you’ve got plenty of seatpost insertion I wouldn’t even worry about it.
Assuming you have plenty of seatpost insertion I would drill out the end of the crack to 1/8″-1/4″. This would prevent that crack from growing more.
..and that’s why you never use a quick-release seatpost clamp on a carbon frame
As for the crack – you can get that repaired, it’s not a huge deal.
