Hey guys , my name is Kegan and I live in Singapore. I currently ride a Polygon T8 , and have sunk a considerable amount of money into it upgrading stuff. I am 260lb (120kg) and 6ft (183cm) , and the suspension on my bike ( Fox 34 , 140mm ) just doesn’t keep up anymore.

I would love an idea of an enduro bike with lots of travel , but im now stuck

Choice 1: Upgrade fork to a 150-160mm Fox 36 , but be stuck with a trail bike

Choice 2: Upgrade frame to an enduro bike , transfer parts over like wheelset and drivetrain , cockpit etc , and manage to squeeze a 170-180mm Fox 38 , and have a proper enduro bike

My dad told me that I will never be 17 years old again , and riding trails with so much energy again , so why not lol.

Context , Singapore doens’t really have big features on our trail , picture 2 shows the biggest feature that i would hit on my bike.

  2. I really can’t say whether you would be better off on a trail bike, or an enduro, unless I ride with you. I depends on you, and the trails you ride. That said, I think a 34 is not enough for somebody your size. A 36 is minimum, and if you ride hard down spicy trails then a 38 is magical. But a 38 won’t be worth it if you already dread the climbs.

As someone else pointed out, that joke of a lock on the rear wheel is worth absolutely zero peace of mind. A combo lock, be honest??
