Just finished a little mini Tour of the Peak District. This was much harder than I anticipated based on current fitness levels and how hard the route ended up being.

I originally bought the Sonder Camino back in March 2020 to do a tour around Scotland going to the distilleries but a little virus put a stop to that. 3 years later and I now have 2 young children and a dog and a hell of a lot less fitness and I finally got to use the bike for a quick overnighter.

I went with the Pannier rack as I have it on for my commute to work. It worked well for storage but certainly added a lot of weight to the rear. When fully laden with relatively lightweight kit and a minimal setup the back was hard to lift comfortably. Mix that in with steep rocky ascents and I was pushing very very hard at times to climb. Even walking with the bike was hard work!

Thankfully the weather stayed pleasant and after a few detours to remove parts of the Penine way it was a more comfortable experience.
