Hi everyone welcome to drive and fail 51 I know it’s only a phone recording of a screen but I think you’ll get the idea with this clip someone’s not paying attention and is about to take a tumble this shows you just how easily cars can roll over if we’ have been able
To see the redge of the white one I would have checked it on car vertical who are kindly sponsoring this video Not the best time to be looking to do an overtake but to be fair to the police car I think they were just having a look rather than committing not necessarily a driving fail for me but it’s included and my viewer did a pretty good job at sorting it
Out this one’s definitely a fail though we’re watching the vehicle that’s in front of this silver Ford it’s the black Porsche should they be going there they seem to take an absolute age to slow down the mind boggles with what was going on through that driver’s mind
I’d also like to add a little well done for my viewer holding back and keeping a little space so the other car could reverse well done how many times do we see other vehicles jumping a red light just because they see a filter Arrow start

Definitely open the floodgates and I can’t stress enough just how dangerous this is there’s a large increase in risk for people who are genuinely using the hard shoulder and what it also does it blocks the route of emergency service Vehicles people who do this are utterly selfish I’m also certain many people

Is this poor riding or is this well timed this one’s more of a walking fail than a driving fail my viewer does well though there’s some very poor overtaking in this clip they’re still going for it another walking fail dealt nicely with by my viewer this is more likely to
Happen when it’s raining and this is because people don’t want to get wet and they just rush across the road this pedestrian just didn’t look properly though if this driver of This Land Rover in front had have waited just literally a few seconds more everyone would have got on the way much sooner

It’s not really confusing the left lane is not a lane it’s a bus stop so this Lane that my viewers in can go in any direction but there’s always one isn’t there it’s easily dealt with though just don’t challenge let it happen I would have tucked it in behind
This fan if I knew I was going to turn left though would you have done the same to finish we’re going to be looking at this distracted driver who’s gone over the central lines this has a big effect on one of the drivers driving in same direction as my viewer they have to

I just had a thought today whilst I was driving and thought I would throw this one in to the equation.
I was thinking about the speed camera's they are bringing out in the future and the ones they have out already and the cost for installing them.
I think the future technology is going to be built into the car and it will be the car recording your speed, location, time etc and this will be automatically uploaded to censors along the roads.
Or have I just given them an idea?
I'm genuinely unsure about the bus stop one. If I approached that junction I would assume it is ok to be there because a bus isn't there. Never come across a bus stop in that scenario before.
No dash cam footage but a drunk guy in a suit, probably been at a wedding just stepped out in front of me in the dark on Saturday evening, luckily I was doing 30mph in a 30 zone unlike a lot of the other cars around me. 😁

Ashley, you can't be serious saying 00;38. Driving into the flow of oncoming traffic on a bend is not a fail, yet you say undertaking is classed as careless driving? Should be the opposite way around.
You also said at 10:12 that the left and is not a lane it's a Bus Stop. It IS a lane with a bus stop in it. It's like thousands of other lanes in UK.
Bad road design re the bus stop. There are no warning signs leading up to it to suggest that it's not a valid part of the carriageway for use by any vehicle until you're actually there.
I would expect all people unfamiliar with this approach to the junction would use the left lane for left/straight on.
The viewer that submitted the video was a bit naive in their driving behaviour, I'm relieved that they slowed sufficiently to avoid a collision.
What makes a car driver blare the horn loud and long while passing a well – lit push bike cyclist, wearing a Hi-vis and keeping 40cm from verge on a straight, wide and empty road at midnight? In the dark I can hear and see the headlights from behind long before and if it sounds like a lorry I stop and put a foot on the verge. I think it is pure aggression.

That "Bus Stop" is outside Chippenham (Wilts) and it's idiotic. No- one treats it as a Bus Stop and getting in the right-hand lane when you intend to turn left just causes confusion.
I've also never actually seen a bus use it.

That clip at the roundabout, I think occurred yet again from bad road design. The polo was in the wrong lane and didn't bother checking which obviously compounded the issue.
The police car was absolutely a driving fail. They had progressed onto the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic in the opposite direction, causing the cammer to have to take evasive action. Whether they were doing so to start the overtake or just "take a peek" is irrelevant. Ashley, you shouldn't be so fearful of speaking up against this. Otherwise, you can't call yourself impartial if you pick and choose who to criticise.
At 2:12 you can see the scooter move in the direction of the crossing, then they stop. The car hit would have a better view of that so should have assumed they were going to cross.

that reverse was crazy, so dangerous to reverse at that speed and wow all those cars using the hard shoulder to pass, was so many doing it, shocking and that police van terrible driving and from a police officer too, a very bad look

I will send in some pictures for you to take a look at soon involving a taxi on the wrong side of a 40mph road and to avoid a head on collision I've swerved, unsuccessfully might I add and maybe get your thoughts. I will wait for the insurance to do their thing first though.
The scooter one I think the pedestrians are at fault.
They had just gotten to the zebra crossing, but the car was already at it as they were arriving.
If i was that pedestrian, id have stopped at the crossing, looked, then cross.
They just went straight over it. Which is neglegence in my opinion.
Pedestrians, even though you have right of way, still use due diligence. Never assume a car will stop for you. Wait until they have stopped.

Second clip is right. Police drivers are taught to "pop" out a little bit to have a look and then they go for the overtake if its safe.

1:19 paisley is full of bampot drivers. I absolutely hate entering the place. I hate the particular area in this video too because I had to drop my sister off at that police station after her boyfriend assaulted her. Brings back a lot of bad memories.

The vid at 5mins. When I see shit like that happen I put myself half on so cars can’t get by. In my car it’s a 50/50 as some people will squeeze past. But when I drive my wagon for work it’s a solid “no, you ain’t passing” and can be seen from a fair distance.
Just like with how people will follow someone jumping ahead, sometimes I’ll look back and notice other people copying me once I do it.
Never be afraid to stop people being bad drivers. Cos most people will support you.
Why did the cyclist towards the end ride in the middle of the road? Dumb decision that considering he wasn’t turning. Especially at night.
AT 00:42 The police car was moving out further. It was an overtake, a very dangerous one. Ashley is getting a bit rusty over the years.

The long straight with the poor overtake – agree that the double white lines should not be crossed, but question the need for no overtaking markings on such a long straight. Had it just been a single slow vehicle, it would have been the perfect spot to overtake them if the road markings allowed it.
That clip at 4:40, I was driving up to Wales last year via the M5, and it was super congested near Taunton. I was just joining the motorway in the outermost lane, and about 5 minutes later, whilst moving at 5mph, a semi sped past me probably at around 40-50mph in the hard shoulder. When you consider how wide they are, that could have done much harm at someone not paying attention on the road ahead
4:30 I think it was typical Mitsubishi Evo driver behavior. Here in the US, all Mitsubishi Evos and Subaru WRXs (another similar car) are always driven by young kids doing tricks and fooling about in their cars

With regards to zebra crossing and drivers not knowing pedestrians were going to cross… it’s in case law from before you were born still valid “ if someone was on a zebra crossing as having jumped from a helicopter and you they ran them over no defence “
