In the early hours of the 7th of August 1985 police station in Chelmsford, England received an unsettling call.
A young man named Jeremy Bamber stated that he’d just received a call from his father who said that his sister Sheila who’d had a history of mental illness had gone crazy with a gun. In the middle of the call the line went dead.
Jeremy urged the police to hurry to his parents’ place of residence – the white house farm in a nearby village. He was frantic, after all Jeremy’s whole family was in that house – his parents, his sister and her two young sons.
Sadly, by the time the police arrived it was too late, all 5 of them had been shot and killed. At first glance it’s an open and shut case of murder suicide with the culprit – Sheila already dead. But when you look closer, you’ll see a complex tale of greed, lies, betrayal and dark secrets.

Um my father’s phone from White House Farm and he sounded really frightened he says my my sister’s gone crazy and she’s got a gun in the early hours of the 7th of August 1985 police station in chamford England received an unsettling call a young man named Jeremy bber stated that

He just received a call from his father who said that his sister Sheila who’ had a history of mental illness had gone crazy with a girl done Jeremy urged the police to hurry to his parents’ place of residence after all Jeremy’s whole family was in that house his parents his

Sister and her two young Sons sadly by the time the police arrived it was too late all five of them had been shot and killed at first glance it’s an open and shut case of murder suicide with the culprit Sheila already dead but when you look closer you’ll see a complex tale of

Greed betrayal and dark secrets Jeremy Bamber was instructed to go to the White House Farm and wait for the police there the officers couldn’t just walk into the house though they worried that Sheila was still armed and could attack them instead they waited for a tactical firearms unit to arrive and in the meantime tried to communicate with

Sheila using a loud haer hours pass Sheila hadn’t replied and there didn’t seem to be any movement in the house except for a barking dog finally at 7:54 a.m. the Tactical Firearms unit entered the house and found a truly horrifying scene all five family members had been shot to death Jeremy’s father mother

Sister and two nephews all dead 61-year-old Neville Bamba’s body was found downstairs in the kitchen which was in a state of disarray with a overturned chairs broken table wear and lights and blood all over suggesting a struggle Neville was dressed in pajamas and now laying over an overturned chair

He had been shot eight times in total based on where the empty cartridge cases were found he had been shot four times upstairs then managed to get downstairs where a struggle took place and then he was shot an additional four times which killed him in addition to the gunshots

There were other injuries to Neville including two blows to the head black eyes a broken nose bruising on his arms a fractured jaw and significant damage to his teeth and larynx so he had been beaten quite badly before he died as well Neville’s 61-year-old wife Jun Bamba was found in the master bedroom

Upstairs she had been shot seven times and was now laying on the floor by the door Sheila’s two sons 6-year-old Daniel and Nicholas Twins were found in their beds in their own room Daniel had been shot 10 times in total and Nicholas three it appears that the boys were

Murdered in their sleep the final body belonged to 28-year-old Sheila daughter to Neville and June mother to the Twins and sister to Jeremy the one who Jeremy reported had gone crazy with a gun Sheila was found on the floor of the master bedroom not far from her mother

There was a gun over her body and two gunshot wounds in her face Jeremy Bamber was outside with the police officers this whole time and this entire situation stressed him out immensely as you would expect he broke down he cried and appeared to have vomited but I mean

This man’s just lost his entire family the five closest people to him of course he was an estate before the Tactical Unit entered the house and before Jeremy found out that his whole family was dead he had been questioned during this questioning Jeremy revealed that Sheila

Had a history of mental illness and had been receiving treatment on and off he also said that Sheila was comfortable with guns and he had seen her shoot one before as for the weapon his father was talking about on the phone he said that it was actually his own gun that he had

Loaded when he came by the house earlier you see Jeremy was planning to go rapit hunting but plans changed he left the loaded gun and a box of ammunition at the kitchen table and Sheila must have used that exact gun since all the doors and windows had been

Closed and locked from the inside since Sheila had a history of mental illness since Neville called and said that she had gone crazy with a gun and since she was the one laying with a gun next to her body detective Chief Inspector Thomas Jones was sure that a murder

Suicide was the most reasonable explanation the day after the murders The Daily Express Newspaper printed quote brandishing a gun taken from her father’s collection deranged dilc Sheila bber 28 first shot her twin six-year-old Sons she gunned down her father as he tried to pH for help then she murdered

Her mother before turning the automatic 22 caliber rifle on herself end quote the culprit Sheila was dead now there wasn’t going to be a trial so police decided there was no point trying too hard to preserve evidence the crime scene had never been secured or searched thoroughly the evidence was never

Recorded ordered or preserved properly and the murder weapon had been touched without gloves by one of the officers only a couple of days after the murders the police took all of the Blood Stained carpets bed sheets and curtains and just burned them 3 days after the murders the

Keys to the house were given back to Jeremy and the extended family an inquest into the matters resulted in a decision that this was in fact a murder suicide so the bodies were released to the family Neville June and Sheila’s bodies were cremated and the bodies of Nicholas and Daniel were buried but

There was something strange going on at the funeral Jeremy bber the man who just lost his entire family seemed to be smiling and joking he cried yes but some thought he was putting on a show and breaking character when he thought no one was looking Jeremy’s Behavior after

The funeral only fueled suspicion very soon after the funerals he was living his best life on a holiday in Amsterdam and began selling his family’s belongings suspicion isn’t enough to arrest someone you need at least some proof and a month after the murders some proof just happened to fall into

Police’s lap Jeremy’s girlfriend Julie went to the police and told them that Jeremy had been planning to kill his family the following day Jeremy was arrested the Bamba family were well-liked and respected members of their Community Neville used to be an ARF pilot and a magistrate at the local

Magistrates Court after he and June got married in 1949 they moved into the Georgian White House Farm that had belonged to jun’s Father the house sat on over 300 acres of tenant Farmland plus the bambas owned a flat in London and a caravan site so financially they lived a very comfortable life Neville

And June couldn’t have biological children so they adopted Sheila and Jeremy who weren’t related to each other biologically as baby the bembers gave their kids a good home and education but not everything was perfect June suffered from depression and she had been admitted to a psychiatric hospital a

Number of times her treatment included electroshock therapy according to Jeremy’s friends he started breaking the law at a young age namely he had allegedly broken into a jewelry shop to steal a watch and smuggled heroin into a different country at the time of the murders Jeremy worked on his parents’

Farm and lived in a cottage they owned located about 5 km from the White House Farm the relationship between Jeremy and Sheila had turned strained by that point and they didn’t speak much the relationship between June and Sheila became strained a while ago once Sheila became a teenager you see Sheila started

Talking to boys and hanging out with them and June disapproved of her behavior because she was very religious once Jun saw Sheila and her boyfriend Colin cfel sunbathing in a field naked and became really upset by that then at the age of 17 Sheila got pregnant and

Got an abortion and June was really mad about that too reportedly June was really intensely religious some sources said it was to the point of obsession and Sheila’s Behavior went against all that June believed in it was said that June even started calling Sheila the devil ‘s child Sheila went on to study

And start working then she got pregnant again and at this point she and Colin cfel got married sadly she miscarried at 6 months and the next pregnancy also ended poorly but then she gave birth to the twins Nicholas and Daniel their marriage with Colin didn’t last though

Because he began having aairs so they got divorced Sheila’s life became quite difficult she lived off welfare and low paying jobs and she also started using drugs occasionally most importantly for this case her mental health started to decline around the time of the divorce she would have episodes where she would

Be in an agitated paranoid and psychotic State she would bang her head against the wall Her diagnosis at the time was schizophrenia but mental health treatment wasn’t as advanced then and schizophrenia included a broad range of disorders that we know today so basically she had some something not necessarily schizophrenia but she was

Struggling with something the Doctor Who treated her said that Sheila believed the devil had given her the power to project evil onto others she believed that her sons were the devil’s children the same phrase that June used with her and she also had thoughts about suicide and murder the last time Sheila was

Admitted to psychiatric hospital was 5 months before the Murs 4 weeks later she was discharged Ed and prescribed to receive a monthly injection of halap paradol an anticho drug with a sedative effect from that point Daniel and Nicholas lived mostly with their dad in August of 1985 the Twins were supposed

To stay at the White House Farm for a week which they weren’t happy about Daniel and Nicholas didn’t like that June was making them get on their knees and pray Daniel had also become vegetarian and he was worried that June and Neville would force him to eat meat

And anyways one of the crime scene photographs showed that someone had carved quote I hate this place end quote into the cupboard doors of the bedroom where the boys were sleeping had one of them done it or had Sheila done it years prior since this used to be her room we

Don’t know so 3 days before the murders the Twins and Sheila arrived at the White House Farm for a week with Neville and June according to the housekeeper and the Farm Workers everyone seemed to get along and it was all good on the evening of the 6th of August so just

Hours before the murders Jeremy visited the house at 9:30 p.m. Jeremy was seen leaving by a farm worker and what happened after is argued you see the official murder suicide theory has a few very significant inconsistencies it All Began on the 10th of August 3 days after

The Murs by that point the keys to the house had already been returned to the family one of Jeremy’s cousin was going through a closet under the stairs when he found a silencer that was covered in something that looked like paint and blood it took the police a few days but

Eventually they got around to collecting the silencer and examining it it was indeed covered in a bit of red paint and there was blood inside the muzzle the paint matched the paint on The Mantel piece at the White House Farm and there was a scratch on said mantle piece

Supposedly the paint endered up on the silencer during a strugg go for the gun as for the blood this was before DNA technology was available so they could only determine the blood group and the group of this Blood mashed Sheilas although it could have been a mix of

Nevels and Junes now it appears that the silencer was on the gun during the murders correct a very important detail here is that Sheila was a petite woman and it was determined that her arms were not long enough to physically be able to shoot herself with with the silencer on

The gun let’s say that she shot everyone with the silencer on and then realized that she couldn’t shoot herself with the silencer on so she took it off but then why would she go downstairs and hide it in a Cupboard before shooting herself in the master bedroom

Upstairs what is the point of that secondly Sheila had been shot twice in the head which is highly unusual for a suicide it’s possible but it’s highly unusual next we have the fact that Sheila’s hands and feet were clean somehow after supposedly shooting four people having a violent struggle walking

All over the blooded floor there was no blood dirt or lead dust on her hands and feet and her manicure was still in pristine condition the blood on her night dress was only her own and there was no trace of firearm discharge residue on it and lastly we have the

Fact that Sheila was a petite woman like I said and Neville her father was about 193 cm tall and in good physical health could Sheila beat him up so badly like physically break his jaw smack him over the head could she overpower him in a struggle for the gun all of these

Inconsistencies suggest that Sheila herself was a victim here yeah she had a history of mental issues but that doesn’t make her a murderer and yeah she did have disturbing thoughts that included harming people around her including her children but it’s important to look at actual physical evidence we don’t have much sadly

Because police mishandled most of it but the things I just told you about are significant and in my opinion they mean that Sheila couldn’t have been the madra so like I said Jeremy’s girlfriend Julie mugford went to the police about a month after the murders and said that Jeremy

Planned to kill his family after which he was arrested Julie said that Jeremy made a number of statements that suggested that he wanted them all dead he said that he disliked them all that they were all Disturbed in their own ways even the twins that he didn’t

Want to share his very large inheritance with anyone Julie said that Jeremy talked about how exactly he would kill everyone and how he’d pin it all on Sheila and get away with it there were loads of things that Julie said but it’s also important to remember that after

All these are just words and their relationship was a horrible and abusive one and this statement was made after a fight and after they broke up so I wouldn’t take it all at face value because could this all be made up yeah it could was it all made up I don’t know

And neither does anyone else when thinking about Julie’s statements I’m on the fence on the one hand she never said that Jeremy explicitly told her that he killed his family although that he had hired a Hitman now if she was lying why not just say that he confessed to her

Right so that makes me lean more towards her telling the truth but anyway that’s not vital Julie’s statement was crucial nonetheless because it led to the arrest of Jeremy bber and he was looked at more closely honestly Jeremy’s Behavior was odd from the very beginning first of all

When Jeremy made that call to the police on the night of the m for some reason he hadn’t called the emergency number 999 instead he took a phone book looked through it to find the long number of the police station and called that which doesn’t make any sense

At all secondly even though Neville told Jeremy to come quickly he called his girlfriend Julie before leaving wasting some more time next police officers saw Jeremy driving to the White House Farm and they noted that he was driving quite slowly so slowly in fact that they overtook him and arrived earlier even

Though usually Jeremy was a fast driver yeah and the fact that Jeremy tried to sell nude photos of Sheila to newspapers for £20,000 after her death isn’t a good look either the trial began on the 3rd of October 1986 the prosecution alleged that Jeremy motivated by hatred and greed decided to

Get rid of his entire family he had dinner at the White House Farm then left and in the early morning hours of the 7th of August he went back there on a bike to avoid being spotted he got into the house through a downstairs bathroom window which he had done before by the

Way by his own admission and then he took the gun and the silencer and went upstairs Jeremy then shot his mother sister nephews and father and with Neville there was also a struggle and then he arranged the crime scene to look like Sheila did it at this point he

Realized that Sheila couldn’t have reached the trigger with the silencer attached so he took it off and hit it downstairs then he removed the kitchen phone off the hook so he could lie about Neville phoning him and left the house through a window and then to make it

Look like all the doors and windows were locked from the inside he banged on it so that the catch dropped back into position I’m pretty sure they have checked and it was possible the prosecution said said that Jeremy never received that call from his father that

Said that Sheila had gone crazy with a gun they argued that Neville was too badly injured to speak at that point that there was no blood on the phone even though there were loads of blood on Neville and also he would probably call 999 since he’d been shot four times

Already why would he call his son and of course the prosecution brought up the arguments against Sheila’s guilt that there was no reason for her to hide the silencer that there was no blood debris or gunpowder on her hands and feet that her long nails were still intact that

She wasn’t strong enough to overpower Neville and by the way she wasn’t comfortable with guns she didn’t know much about them the defense honestly didn’t have much they just said no Jeremy never said that he hated his family or he didn’t want to share his inheritance that didn’t happen they

Brought up the fact that no one had seen Jeremy cycle to the farm on the night of the murders and no one had found Blood Stained clothing of his but then that doesn’t prove much to me they focused a lot on Sheila’s mental health issues and basically used that to argue that she

Was capable of matter but in my opinion that’s a weird argument in this case I think her having mental health issues is not even relevant in this case because instead of speculating on what someone is or isn’t capable of we need to look at actual evidence we need to ask

Questions questions like could Sheila kill four people fight with a large and strong man in the process and not have any blood or gunpowder on her hands could she walk around the house and bite in the kitchen with loads of debris on the floor and still have clean feet

Would she hide the silencer would she sit on the floor to kill herself why not on the bed would she shoot herself twice in the head these are things that are relevant here and her mental health isn’t in my opinion so anyways after deliberating for over 9 hours the jury

Returned with a verdict of Guilty by majority 10 jurors believed that he was guilty the other two disagreed Jeremy was sentenced to five life sentences and he’s in prison to this day but some believe that this case is an example of one of the biggest miscarriage of

Justice in UK history and let’s discuss why Jeremy’s lawyers argue that the crime scene photos taken at 9:00 a.m. on the 7th of August show that Sheila’s blood was still wet they’re saying that if she’d been killed hours before the blood would have congealed meaning that she was killed later when Jeremy was

Already outside with the police to me this isn’t really a strong argument because how blood looks in the photos is highly subjective moving on there are arguments about the silencer about whether it had been on the gun during the murders or not since the silencer evidence was really important for the

Prosecution’s case Jeremy’s lawyers are trying really hard to prove that it wasn’t on Experts argue but basically some believe it wasn’t on the gun because there were circular burn marks on Neville’s back which may have come from the end of the gun with no silence on again not the greatest argument

Because experts can’t agree whether it was or wasn’t on the gun there are also arguments about the police logs because some believe there’s a radio log that says that Neville himself called the police and told them that his daughter went crazy with a gun but this is also weak because it was

Probably a mistake made by the police officers there are other arguments but what’s important is that I tried to find some actual evidence that would make me question Jeremy’s guilt and I haven’t the main problem of this case obviously is how the police completely mishandled evidence in addition to not collecting

Or storing anything properly and destroying evidence there are also allegations of disturbing the crime scene and then reconstructing it to be more precise some crime scene photos show Sheila’s arm and hand in slightly different positions in relation to the gun which was laying across her body it

Appears as though someone moved her arm and the gun allegedly the police even the judge was unhappy about the less than thorough investigation the police messed up really badly and because of that there are still arguments about whether the right person is in prison for this in my opinion though Jeremy is

Responsible for this crime and he is right where he belongs it’s beyond awful that five lives were needlessly and brutally taken away in this manner Nicholas and Daniel had their whole lives ahead of them I’ve seen an interview with their dad and he’s just you know he’s just crushed obviously

Neville June and Sheila they weren’t perfect people but who is they were loved and respected and they deserve to live they definitely didn’t deserve any of this it’s a horrible horrible tragedy and that’s the case let me know what you think in the comments do you

Agree with me that Jeremy’s guilty or do you disagree maybe you know of some evidence that I haven’t found so let me know if you found this video interesting then let me know by giving it a like stick around by subscribing and as always please be kind to people I’ll see

You in my next video Bye

  1. I will have to listen to this later on.

Very interesting case. I am still not sure whether or not the guy is guilty or not.

I am quite surprised he was convicted though as i dont beleive there was any substantive evidence proving he was at the crime scene at the time of the murders.

  2. I think you need to bear in mind that the defence does not have to "prove" that the defendant is innocent; the prosecution do have to prove "beyond reasonable doubt" that the defendant is guilty.

Therefore, if there are disputes on expert evidence or issues regarding continuity of evidence in the case, then that should help the defence.

In my view, he might well have been culpable for the deaths of his family, but there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he did so.

  3. I don't know why your channel hasnt blown up yet. I saw your first episodes and was expecting you to have gotten at least 100k by now. I'll never understand the algo
