Welcome to fight Camera Action where we show you wild dramatic and crazy confrontations in the raw from the people who were right there [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you in this episode of fights Camera Action we’re focusing on the people who try and stop fights breaking out and then have to pick up the pieces when things get out of control normally that job falls to the police but when they’re not around or can’t get there quickly
Enough members of the public sometimes decide to take matters into their own hands as Vigilantes expect some shocking and brutal action plus plenty of seriously foul language with clips from the UK and around the world plus we’ll meet some of the people who are in the heart of
It all to get the Inside Story coming up actually scared me he’s touched my leg he touched my winky what would you do if you witness a crime taking place and nobody was doing anything
About it would you walk on by or would you get stuck in and try and stop it up next we celebrate The Bravery of a rather surprising group of have a go Heroes a gang of Thieves on mopeds are attempting to break into this Northampton Jewelers shop
Using sledgehammers this isn’t a situation you would try and Tackle single-handedly unless you happen to be this red-coated crusader [Music] who runs half the length of the High Street to take on the Gang armed with a very dangerous looking handbag
She not only scares most of the gang away but also stops one of them from escaping until passes by pin him down a real life super Grand what is it about pensioners that makes them such willing have a go Heroes this is a bank
Being robbed it’s a very calm and relaxed robbery but nevertheless it is a robbery the cashiers are handing over the money when a gray-haired man arrives on the scene [Music] after struggling to negotiate the ropes he launches himself at the robber [Music]
Sparking a very excitable reaction from the woman at the desk [Music] the robber a kick for good measure when it’s your livelihood that’s being threatened you don’t always think about Danger five-year-old grandmother of eight wasn’t about to let this hooded hoodlum take her till without giving him a few whacks with a stick
The thief takes the till but is rugby tackled To The Ground by another have a go oap hero he gets away empty-handed but let’s have another look at that takedown [Music] Johnny Wilkinson would have been proud of that [Applause] [Music] um
Sometimes you’re driving along and you suddenly come across the worst driver you’ve ever seen oh in Houston Texas this driver spots another car weaving and steering erratically [Music] unlike most bystanders this driver decides to get involved hey hey what’s up man stop it stop it come on and stop man stop [Music]
It man he doesn’t want to let the suspected drink driver back on the road [Music] the police arrive and take the suspect away at least nobody was hurt and even his car escaped unscathed [Music] oh coming up we meet a man known as the cycling vigilante he’s also been labeled Britain’s
Most hated cyclist and he’s been called a lot worse than that by some motorists oh you’re gonna be Republican I’ve not met many solicitors or barristers who can now get a toss over video evidence also there’s this [Music] look at this look at it
Now obviously the police can’t be around every time there’s trouble and that’s inspired some people to take matters upon themselves by becoming vigilantes just like the cyclist we saw earlier who was getting an ear full of abuse so now it’s time to meet Dave Sherry the cycle vigilante
Dave has been waging a one-man Road Safety campaign from the saddle of his bike but he’s also been described as Britain’s most hated cyclist thanks Dave Sherry some people call me a cycling vigilante I believe in respect and sharing the
Road full Road users I generally do what I do to make the road to save a better place for us all what started this off was a couple of years ago I was taking my baby boy to
Nursery and some geez uh came at us nearly at the back of the bike and the kid there’s my word against Sears so Incorporated video evidence it’s worked well for me in the past so I Incorporated it on my bike and ever since then never looked back and I’ve been nailing
Bear drivers for various defenses and mobile phone careless Reckless thing just driving thank you you’re going to be careless driving hopefully I’ll give way to the right Dave now records all his journeys on his specially rigged bike gpso time
Date location for the instance side view camera for the closed pulses he’s even got an air horn [Music] come down here you know what a section 5 is all right you’re going to kill someone yeah [ __ ] off well Dave’s right that he’s holding something but we don’t know that it was a phone
The motorcycle on an average day was cycling down near the M11 slow moving traffic and it appeared that every car was passing either the drivers we’re overtakes they make up him or eating at the will so that worked out about 25 in the space of 200 yards [Music]
Dave is a master collection of around 900 videos of Motoring mishaps what the [ __ ] are you doing man here it’s the clips and adds his own captions to highlight the alleged infringement and occasionally adds a touch of Comedy
Oh Well Done big boy well done when I have an instant I’m starting to stop it on the GoPro make a mental note in my head and then I make my way to the computer put the video evidence
Together I can do all that without seeing the police officer even visiting the police station it’s all online I generally do it by email sometimes they want to argue it and cook so far I’ve not met many solicitors or barristers who can all get a toss over video evidence it’s great
In this incident Dave thinks he’s seen this silver car jumping a red light when he catches up with the car he confronts them and gets a volley of abuse determined to film The culprits he approaches them again and this time it’s more than just insults that are held his way you on camera
[ __ ] camera Google Dave’s Shooting yeah consequences for the drugs involved with values from a driving awareness course six points 400 pound fine or a Dane cool and it could be six to nine points a thousand pound fine and a discretionary disqualification [Applause] [Music] camera YouTube image what you doing come over here
Majority of drivers who I interact with um generally hands up sorry girl but then you’ve got the passive aggressives what public ity I might be doing me when he’s coming up on This Hood I didn’t actually see you so uh apologize
But I apologize I don’t [ __ ] have a heart attack on my window passive aggressive say sorry and then I kick off a little bit get back in there little 10 bucks and it’s all good what I’m saying is I
Didn’t knock you off he’s still on the bike and that is it yeah all right mate of course there are those motorists who take exception to being filmed and take the law into their own hands saw room on a mobile phone driving in traffic
Let my lap told him to put the phone down it ain’t worth it was six points to 100 points no foreign camera it’s not worth it put the phone down why are you threatening me why are you threatening me I’ll get back in here why are you threatening me
Steals my camera then he comes back in the salt smoke as you can see but he didn’t realize was there’s a second camera on the bike and caught it and it’s all glory [Music] and basically that nail just coughing for the police action later on
The man made a full admission to the police and was cautioned for assault no [Music] I’ve been the victim of various assaults and injuries to understand what could go wrong and I understand that what I’m doing out there is just me and my cameras as a result of the
Attacks he’s experience Dave now takes a few more precautions including wearing a protective vest this is just for additional safety measures on top of me helmet and reflectors and lights this is um for them untoward incidences where people of Apple Mac torches and knives so
A little bit of preemptiveness if it’s good enough for the old wheeler It’s gotta be good people say why don’t you join the police do it for a job but then they’re governed by red tape
Too much PC on the Own Boss I do what I do in my own time I do it for passion look for money Dave has made it his mission to fight bad practice on the roads but at home even he can’t always get his own kids to behave
Right whoever’s touching this door stop it do you understand me last one all right perfect shut up [Music] a police officer’s lock is not always a happy one and it can be dangerous a recent survey revealed that in England and Wales a police officer is assaulted every four minutes but it’s not just
Here all over the world the police have to deal with life-threatening situations on a daily basis foreign Take this traffic cop who tries to stop the driver of this car in twanjo China he looks remarkably calm considering his precarious situation in the Russian Republic of bashkartistan this policeman has pulled over a car when one of the
Passengers staggers over for a chat starts off amicably enough but quickly turns sour [Music] cops have to deal with everything from the downright dumb like this guy who walks into a police station and starts smashing the place up [Applause] to the seriously dangerous like this incident where a
Murder suspect tries to grab an officer’s gun as his handcuffs are being removed here he checks out the cog’s firearm before making his move fortunately backup is close at hand three cops and two tasers get him under control
Being a copper is a stressful job at the best of times so when things aren’t going well it’s perhaps not surprising that occasionally they’ll lose their call okay arrested me some people just have a knack for winding up cops yeah
You are watching you in my pocket that’s causing me harm okay this man has been detained by police after they initially stopped him and he ran away he’s touched my leg he touched my winky he’s just
Touching me he just touched my dick it’s on the side I got a nine in chat he’s just touched my [ __ ] how do I stop sexually harassing me get out the [ __ ] trousers all right
My leg what else is in there my dick do you want my dick to hang out get off my trousers I am gonna make sure you know he’s not the worstest earache you’re gonna you probably get a suspension for this I’m telling
You having found nothing suspicious on the man the police uncuff him but the Chatty Man from Birmingham hasn’t finished in fact he’s only just getting started your public servant now get here okay yeah yeah I’m talking to you hello he gives the two cops a roasting you’re
A public servant do you understand then tries to have a chat with the sergeant over the radio he did not stay who he was what station he was from and ask me my name this articide does not always citizen I pay tax fighting with the cops is never a great idea
But this guy makes things even worse as you’ll see in a minute [Music] it all kicks off when the police try to confiscate some tables and chairs from outside his restaurant [Music] having reclaimed a couple of stalls he then puckers up plants one right on the officer’s lit bad move
At least the cops issued a receipt for the tables and chairs of you know what I mean sometimes making an arrest is only half the battle for the police they still got to get the suspect into the car not easy well he’s got super strength Look at it [Music] in an attempted robbery the element of surprise is usually on the side of the criminal but in these next clips these would-be thieves get more than they bargained for here’s a car thief checking out potential Targets in a multi-story car park
Having chosen a car he gets to work there’s a brief pause when somebody walks past and the thief pretends to be on his mobile Assumes the break-in but he’s in for a shock because he’s been spotted by this guy who looks like he’s just been to the gym and he has an extra workout pinning the thief to the ground it was a Nimble Bit of footwork that brought the thief Crashing Down This drunk looking man tries to rob an off license but gets a sore head in more ways than one first he’s surprised by this woman with a bottle of wine then the cashier hits him with a bottle of whiskey [Music] it’s a potent combination [Music]
At Robert clearly can’t multitask during a hold up he puts his gun down on the counter bad move the shopkeeper snatches the gun and then chases the man out of the shop with it the old man had let go of his gun in order to rob the customer stood next
To him as well he got too greedy and ended up with nothing [Music] coming up we’ll get the background story on a New Year’s Eve night in Manchester that went a bit off the rails from a photographer who captured a stunning street scene of police bystanders and a
Man on the floor reaching for his beer the photo was so captivating it went viral on social media on that night it was everywhere just boom boom boom incident after incident and we’ll also have this [Applause] I promised you a spectacular photo taken during
A wild night on New Year’s Eve in Manchester and the story behind it well we caught up with the man who captured that image to find out just how it came about there’s one night of the year when police forces everywhere go on high alert
New Year’s Eve [Applause] with celebrations going on into the early hours all over the country the police are kept busy all night long when the New Year arrives Not long ago a Manchester News photographer captured the chaos of New Year’s turning it into a work of art that captured the imagination and lit up the internet Joel Goodman has been documenting life on the streets of Manchester since 2011.
With the street stuff it’s the randomness like you don’t know what’s going to happen next so when something astonishing or remarkable or even mundane occurs but that makes a photograph that’s when you spring into action obviously that’s the moment you’re waiting for
It’s been a tradition for me to go out and photograph revelers on New Year’s night you might have a really quiet night or you might find hundreds of things just everywhere you look and it just so happened that on that night it was everywhere it was really busy there was a large
Crowd out and just boom boom boom incident after incident as Joel was about to discover this New Year’s morning we’re presenting with the opportunity of a lifetime [Music] I knew there was a fight about to unfold so I mean I was here anyway and I sort of
Waited here because you could see what was happening across the street you could see what’s happening here and there was something brewing and it just sort of it started across the street a little bit of a scuffle with the police and one of the people pictured in the
Middle of the road and then as things sort of unfolded in front of me because there were so many crowns I had to sort of push forward a bit and switch to a wider lens just so I
Could get the scene and I came to about this spot and this scene just sort of opened up the picture all the beauty and pathos of random strangers gathered to celebrate the new year to over celebrate it might be said and the police who were trying to keep a lid on it all
You have a man who is being detained by police there are I think three police officers sort of pinning the man down right on the double yellow lines as well sort of perfect sort of symmetry and next to them a woman pleading with the police pleading
With a man basically not happy about the scenario that has unfolded and expressing it you have a woman walking across sort of in the mid background across the street there who’s this head is just sort of drawn by the scene but is effectively carrying on on her route
The mini cab just coming through just like this car is now sort of lighting scene beautifully from the background along with obviously the overhead lights a crowd in the background just sort of having their chips and kebabs and just sort of watching it sort of Street Theater I
Guess and then perfectly placed and timed a man in a sort of quite bright blue suit um sort of lying on the in the middle of the road here and he’s managed having collapsed quite elegantly to keep his beer bottle intact and he’s now sort of on the ground stretched out
With a beer bottle just Out Of Reach just sort of reaching out for it perfect frame and it just happened to come together beautifully just in a split second took the picture and everyone got on with their evening really so perfect photo taken Joe called it a night I found the pictures as
Normal sent them off to the papers went to bed about sort of 8 A.M and then a couple of hours later having thought that I’d get a you know a good morning sleep um I start hearing my phone
Pipping on Twitter it kept going and after a while I thought crikey I’ve done something terrible something’s gone wrong here I better have a look a chap called roller shoes from the BBC had tweeted about it and another chap called Tom Phillips from BuzzFeed had also tweeted about the
Gallery in general and from there lots of people started sort of commenting on the composition and on elements within it and really getting into it it was nice that people were sort of appreciating it not just for the content of it but they were also commenting on on the actual photo itself and
Discussing photography and composition that was a bit that I sort of really appreciated about it because obviously you know photographers get very precious about that sort of thing and so it’s nice when other people sort of latch onto that and sort of can appreciate that too
And then the internet turned this striking image into one of the greatest virals of our time [Music] and the photo lives on its subjects have become local celebrities [Music] and people still come to this spot in Manchester City Center to try and relive the magic
I went to the cinema here a few weeks after I met up with some friends and as I came around here there was someone posing on the floor like the man in blue while his mate took a picture on his mobile phone which is quite sweet [Music]
Yeah in 2003 the introduction of tasers changed the way the police in the UK dealt with violent incidents although not without their controversies tasers can provide an effective means of incapacitating aggressive or armed suspects some of the scenes in these next clips are shocking and some people may find them distressing [Music]
On the floor tasers are stun guns that deliver high voltage electric shocks [Music] overloading the body’s nervous system and causing temporary loss of muscle control his knife-wielding man outside Buckingham Palace caused serious alarm to unlooking tourists [Music] before a taser gun brought him under control [Music] let’s go there we go
This Infamous footage shows Leighton Stone knife attacker muadine myri attempting to slash passes by in a tube station okay [Music] get down go go go go the first two attempts to taser him fail a police report found that officer’s injuries were reduced by 76 percent when tasers were used
And it’s only when reinforcements arrived that he’s finally brought under control [Applause] tasers were first developed in the states one of their advantages is that they enable policemen to catch more Nimble suspects [Applause] I’m not doing anything
This clip starts off with a street fight ER it’s all about to go a bit crazy [Music] someone getting hit by the car as it pulled away come on the cops arrived to break it up then this woman in Gray gets tasered and goes down hitting the floor hard ER [Music] in this confrontation in the hotel lobby in Virginia the man has been tasered but remains standing down [Music] it keeps insisting he’s down yet he’s still standing [Music] turns into a rather odd standoff [Music] until the backup arrives and things get serious get down again Another standoff this time in Canada you can see why the cops are looking a bit nervous he’s a big fella [Applause] But some cops want to sort matters out fast faced with a woman wielding a knife this cop takes a more direct approach foreign These two fishermen are minding their own business when they’re subjected to a vicious verbal assault by these vegan vigilantes you guys just gonna let this fish die like this you know what if
What if what if this was a dog and I hooked the dog through the mouth and threw her in the water how would you guys feel about that we don’t need any animals because all animals have the same
Ability to feel love and pain just like we do would you guys agree with that what if this was a human child but what if it was they have the same ability and same emotions as a human child
That’s not my opinion that’s facts sir would you hook your child sir this is horribly wrong why don’t you eat human beings sir because it’s wrong and because you understand that it’s wrong to eat a human being what if this was a dog or a cat or a human
I’m thinking they’re coming back in the water no you’re not okay I’m not gonna touch this fish that’s dying property is he your problem is he your property no he’s not don’t step on that [ __ ] how about that how about that call the police having thrown their fish back into the water the
Vegan Vigilantes bite the Anglers with this catchy charms [Music] coming up we’ll be calling for backup as things get a little out of control [Music] [Applause] [Music] now there’s a group of people who often find themselves on the front line in the
Fight against Crime and that’s shopkeepers small stores in particular are often targeted because they’re taking within 80 reach of any would-be robbers and they rarely have much security but just because they’re small it doesn’t make them a soft touch as we’ll see these shopkeepers
Fight back when these two men attempt to Rob this shop in Finsbury Park the owner and his son don’t hesitate to fight back despite one of the robbers brandishing a pistol [Music] the father’s hit with a gun a few times whilst the other robber tries to stab him [Music] everybody [Music]
Thieves are eventually scared off luckily both Father and Son survived with only minor injuries [Music] we say you should never judge a book by its cover but this guy in the red coat doesn’t look like he’s about to try and Rob this Doncaster Cafe does he
However having asked a man behind the counter for a glass of water [Music] the so-called customer grabs a till and tries to make off with it didn’t reckon on the quick reactions of the worker who grabs a bat and sends this nervous looking
Robber packing with his tail between his legs a man wearing a crash helmet and a high-vis jacket has just threatened staff at this news agent in Norwich with what appears to be a sawn-off shotgun the Raider threatens one of the customers she runs for the door and escapes
Now on his own in the shop the robber starts helping himself to the takings in the till when all of a sudden the Cavalry arrived the woman who escaped went to find her husband who was getting a Chinese Takeaway nearby
Our hero gets the hive his hijacker in a headlock and stops him having a takeaway of his own In this clip an armed robber is holding up this newsagent but a great bit of teamwork from the shopkeeper and a customer gets the thief nicked at first the shopkeeper plays along with the
Robber he goes to the till and starts to take the money out and then he makes a grab for the gun as he does so the customer makes a grab for the robber and wrestles him to the ground [Music] let’s see that team play again the timing is absolutely spot on
The cops arrived to take the thief away and it slaps on the back for our Intrepid vigilante Duo [Music] we’ve seen how violent incidents can quickly escalate out of control sometimes there’s just too much going on for the police at the scene to deal with and that’s when they call for backup
Attending a street fraccar these police call for backup and here it comes now [Music] [Applause] [Music] I think that’s what they call a rapid response unit let’s see that again in slow-mo he’s been watching too many repeats of Starsky and Hutch the nice bit [Music]
Watch what you’re doing here your camera just to let you know watch what you’re doing watch what you do step back in this arrest the police could have done with a few more officers you’re done hitting people yet you don’t hit enough suspect who’s had a package confiscated
Is surrounded by cops but watch the guy in the gray tracksuit trousers [Music] he snatches the package off the police and escapes [Music] even when you’ve got a suspect cuffed you need to keep an eye on them nice bit of escapology he gets away but what’s he
Gonna do now with his hands cuffed behind his back [Applause] [Music] thank you this Nairobi policeman probably wishes he had some backup or a taser having stopped a truck in the middle of a busy road things soon start to turn ugly it’s the start of a running battle between cop and Driver [Music]
The man keeps trying to get back in his truck to drive away but is prevented from doing so then he picks up a couple of bricks from the roadside and resumes his attack the man gets back in his truck and drives off
When the police backup eventually catches up with him the result isn’t good for the driver but the police do sometimes show their warm sensitive side take traffic cop Mark James who sets off in pursuit of a speeding motorist only to have the chase brought to a halt by a family of ducks
Worried for their safety he blocks the traffic and ushers The Feathered Friends to the side of the road [Music] We’ve seen some impressively heroic police and civilians in this episode but let’s face it many of these Sterling Deeds are only necessary because someone got overly aggressive or violent or committed a crime or assaulted someone fighting has consequences and not just the human damage
It also places an unnecessary burden on the police and Medical Services so if you want to show your appreciation for the people you’ve seen in this program I’m talking about the nice ones obviously then just calm down
Anyway that’s it for this edition of fights Camera Action join us again next time bye for now [Music] [Music] foreign
